Sir Tom is in hospital with covid. I hope he will recover, he’s been an inspiration to so many.

I know he was knighted and it was a real honour well deserved but I too like to remember him as ‘Captain Tom’ Pittcity. Maybe because that’s ‘who he was’ when we were all frightened and needed hope.

Captain Sir Tom Moore was a war veteran.
& during his final year was an inspiration to us all.

sir tom died this morning ....at least he got to go to barbados for christmas (thats where he caught it)sad really but a soldier brave to the end ..

Apparently he had been suffering from prostate and skin cancer for the last 5 years and was on medication as he refused invasive treatment. He also had a fall and broke his hip. He was so grateful to the NHS he wanted to give back and did so in bucketloads. His last year was a good one. RIP

So sorry to hear the very sad news. Sir Tom was one of a kind, a true gentleman. My thoughts and prayers are with his loving family. RIP Sir Tom
