Good Morning Everyone,
Its dark ,and looks cold and frosty outside this morning here in Brackley .
Having returned from 8 days in Hospital , which started with a mini heart attack , heart rate 191 , I was rushed to the banbury Horton Hospital , where I have undergone various, blood tests etc , with slight changes in medication due to condition , The Hospital was not one of the most enjoyable places to be thanks to Covid , but the NHS ticks on regardless .
I did get tested 3 times whilst there all negative .
Have returned a mail backlog both online and normal post , have to arrange my jab as well .
Take Care ,
Mick

Another morning from S Lanarkshire, no rain here just at the moment but it will no doubt arrive soon. If possible I’ll get out for a walk, fresh air and a couple of ‘hellos’ did me so much good yesterday.
Welcome back Mick, wishing you a good recovery to full health really soon. grandmattie did a sterling job (thank you) but it’s good to see you back in your rightful place, kickstarting our days.
Special thoughts and prayers too for Marydolls friend’s granddaughter this morning for her C section if it goes ahead.
I loved the picture of your beach yesterday Bluebell My sister in law who lives in Dunoon, sent me a video of the water gently lapping on the shingly beach near her and I sometimes play it, so calming and peaceful, I do envy those of you who live near the sea.
Good wishes to everyone x

Good Morning everyone and especially Mick. Sorry to hear you’ve been unwell and glad you’re home in your safe place ?
I’m all in a fluster and flap. I woke up late for me and as I wanted to do a small shop I got dressed and went straight out. The shop was busier than normal and stock was still on the aisle floors. I didn’t like it much. Got back to my road to find the building materials lorry had just arrived with goods for next door and parked across my drive. As he hadn’t started to unload he kindly moved the lorry for me to get in.

I’ll have my breakfast and calm down with a cuppa and go back to read all of your morning news.

Stay safe

Good morning Mick and very best wishes for a full recovery. flowers

Forgot my flower ?

Good morning all from a slightly warmer Glasgow, where it's 5°C. Glad to hear you are back home safely Mick. Take it easy now.
I had to self isolate when I came out of hospital last month after my heart attack (scary, isn't it), I guess you will have to do the same. Plenty of time to read that backlog!

Tesco delivery today and DD (in my bubble) is coming here to help unpack and work, as their Internet is down and she has piles of work to do. It will be good to have some company, other than DH.

Speaking of DH, I decided to drive DH to his vaccination appointment yesterday to give my car a run and start driving again. How foolish I was!
We had torrential rain, the roads were flooded, I hadn't driven for five weeks and DH is really too big for my wee car! Every time I tried to change gear, his BIG jacket was flapping over the gear stick. Things were very tense, to say the least. ?

As DH was getting out of the car, he stopped, half in, half out, with his back to me and was doubled over. He was ominously quiet, so my imagination was running riot. I kept asking if he was OK. Total silence. (He won't admit to having hearing difficulties).
Eventually he replied. I'M STUCK! MY JACKET IS CAUGHT ON THE SEATBELT AND I CAN'T MOVE! ?

I am five feet and he is nearly six feet. I'm sure you can imagine the palaver, trying to free him.

All my elderly neighbours were at the hub for their vaccine, DH says it was like a social event!
On the way home, a warning light came on on my car. I had no idea what it was, but it was rather large and very orange!!!
DH suggested that he would take over driving. Forget the fact that it is my car and I have been driving for over forty years. ?
I have totally lost my confidence. I think I will retreat back to my haven and never go out again...except for the vaccine, that is. ?
I'm still waiting for my appointment letter, so much for being CEV!

Thinking of Auntieflo, today, I hope all goes well.
For all our other friends who are struggling, take care. ?

Good morning from the Scottish Borders where the snow has gone in the night despite the forecast, it feels mild outside.
Good to see you back Mick and sorted for the time being.
Happy Birthday to your DGD gagagran
Welcome grannytilly and anyone else posting for the first time.
I still miss Gillybob's Friday girl. How are you Gilly?

I have letters to write and post (the old fashioned way) and missing documents are still missing so I shall have another attempt to find them.

Have a good day everyone and thanks to grandMattie for keeping us all going in Mick's absence..

A very quick good morning from a very wet, windy and altogether miserable Angus coast. So glad you have sunshine, Urms - I thought maybe the sun had abandoned the planet.
So glad to see you back Mick - as you can see, you were very much missed. Stay warm and cosy and get well soon.
Just off to get my jab in a few minutes with all fingers crossed (they had missed me off their list last week, even though they had phoned and given me time and place!). However I had a reminder text from them yesterday, so I guess it's the needle for me this time.
Stay safe everyone. ????

Good morning from a bright but feeling chilly Northampton. Looks as though we have had a bit of a frost. Yesterday was rather miserable weatherwise.

Welcome back Mick, you have been missed. Hope that you are feeling better, and that you have a good recovery. Please take it easy and rest up.

Nothing exciting (surprise, surprise!) planned for today; more reading and knitting. Nearly half way up the left front of my cardigan and debating whether to order another ball of wool just in case. So may well put it in with the order for my next project (another cardigan!).

Take care everyone, and stay safe.

EkwaNimitee Fri 05-Feb-21 08:56:37

Good morning from a bright and dry Cumbrian coast though
I didn't like the sound of this morning's weather forecast. I want spring not more snow!
I'm sorry you've been in hospital, Mick, and wish you a speedy recovery. Don't rush things, though that's easier said than done.
I've got a video WhatsApp call with my letting agent today. I'm not very experienced with these so hope I don't mess up. I presume she wants a virtual view of the property. Oh for the days of real people in my life! Meanwhile a bit of tidying is in order....

grannysyb Fri 05-Feb-21 08:58:03

Good morning from a bright and sunny Teddington, good to hear that Mick is back home. Off to the allotment again as the weather is being kind, we have put a post in the ground and then put wire on to train the espalier fruit trees. Have a good day everyone.

Oopsadaisy1 Fri 05-Feb-21 08:59:41

Just a quick hello from Oxfordshire, relieved that you are safe and recovering at home Mick, take care and get well soon.
DH is fine after his Jab yesterday afternoon he had the AZ one, not even a sore arm.
Only cleaning to be done today so Have a good day everybody.
And take care.

BlueSapphire Fri 05-Feb-21 09:04:04

Gingster, I have read The Dutch House, and really enjoyed it. DD said it was one of her 'books of the year'. Hope you like it, it's a good read.

polomint Fri 05-Feb-21 09:04:31

Good morning from central scotland. Pretty wet here but 5degrees. Glad you are better mick, you seem to be a very popular guy! I've only been readingvthisxthread for past couple of days. You all seem to care about one another which is lovely

Urmstongran Fri 05-Feb-21 09:06:25

Yes granfromafar it is only a joke! You took it in good spirit in a clever way though.
??

GrannySomerset Fri 05-Feb-21 09:08:08

Good to see you back at the helm Mick; hope your recovery goes to plan. Scentia’s comments on decorating reminded me of why we don’t do it ourselves. With a six week old baby we embarked on painting our only living room to find that perfection (DH) and getting it over as quickly as possible (me) couldn’t coexist, and now we get a man (or two) in. Said baby is 56 this year. That particular bit of do it ourselves took four weeks and nearly led to divorce.

Sunny in North Somerset at present so may be a little walk and/or a potter in the garden if it stays fine, but no other plans. Hope the worried and the unwell have a better day.

Anniebach Fri 05-Feb-21 09:19:33

Good morning Auntyflo and all x

Greyduster Fri 05-Feb-21 09:29:25

Good morning Michael and all GNs. Very good to see you back from sick bay Mick. Take it easy - that’s an order! Thank you to GrandMattie for doing a Sterling job of holding the fort! It’s brightening up in South Yorkshire but I doubt we’ll walk today. We did a bit of garden tidying yesterday afternoon, cutting back some overgrown shrubs in our front border so that we can see the daffs when they flower. There don’t seem to be so many this year but they always brighten up the front.
Sheepandcattle that was a very sad start to your day. I don’t suppose you ever really take it in your stride.
kitty I hope this is the final fling for your roof! These guys sound as if they know what they’re doing, but I suppose the others did too!
Have a good day folks and stay safe.

mamaa Fri 05-Feb-21 09:45:58

Morning, good to see you back Mick sorry you’ve been poorly.
Well 2 days in a row of me posting on this thread and I have done so today because Husband brought me breakfast in bed: cup of tea, crumpets with butter and lemon curd, so had something pleasing to share.
I know I’m very fortunate and it was a surprise- no reason he just did! Think I’ll keep him- seems the training of the last 40 years ( will be in April) is starting to pay off ??.
Hope you all have as good a day as you can, and thinking of those with concerns and worries.

Granniesunite Fri 05-Feb-21 09:55:09

Another here who reads some mornings but I don't have the time to post as my husband has alzhimers and most days are difficult, but the chat here cheers me up so thank you for that. Mick So delighted to see you back at the helm and wishing you all the best for your recovery. Take care you lovely folks.

Gelisajams Fri 05-Feb-21 10:00:26

Good morning from a dry for once Morecambe Bay.
Glad to see you back Mick now take it easy and look after yourself.
Marydoll what a way with words you have to describe a situation which invariably makes me smile. You missed your way in life and should have written a novel never mind a novella!
You really must has inspired many a child into quality creative writing when you were teaching.
Take care stay safe everyone ?

harrigran Fri 05-Feb-21 10:00:45

Good morning from the NE where we have torrential rain.
Sorry to hear about your DH Georgesgran.
Good to have you back Mick.
Still no sign of sister getting vaccination, the word is they may start in middle of March in her part of Germany hmm
Stay safe and warm.

EllanVannin Fri 05-Feb-21 10:01:51

Good Morning All x.
Pleasant enough out there this morning with a slight breeze but doesn't feel as cold as it has done of late. We're at 6 degrees but I must say it doesn't feel as cold as it sounds.

Mick I'm glad you've come through your ordeal, not a pleasant experience. Take things easy and let your body heal.

So sad to hear about the calf Sheepandcattle and I can fully understand how upsetting it can be all round. I've nursed most of my life and accepted human deaths but when it comes to animals I feel it much harder. flowers

Hope all goes well for Marydoll's friend's GD and baby as I'm sure once born that things will settle. flowers
Thoughts with Auntieflo today flowers All will be well.

Welcome to the first time posters---before I forget smile
Head feels a bit " cotton-woolly " this morning ( nothing unusual grin ) so much going on in it !

Marydoll your escapades are hilarious. I had the voice of Bob Newhart in my head----remember him ? The driving instructor.

Best wishes to those suffering post-vax oddities and other peculiarities that this life throws at us.

A quick nip out to the corner shop today for bread and milk and that will be the day's exercise done. The usual fish and chips today----days are getting lazier.

Keep safe and well everyone---you too Gilly xx

Redhead56 Fri 05-Feb-21 10:03:30

Good morning all and a big welcome back to Mick take care of yourself.

Mapleleaf Fri 05-Feb-21 10:08:07

Good morning all,
Welcome back, Mick. Take things slowly for awhile.
Thanks to grandMattie for doing sterling deputising ?.

It's another grey, misty morning here in my part of South Yorkshire. I don't think it can decide what to do - stay fine, rain or snow! We may get some of the white stuff on Sunday, but it's not certain just yet. I'm hoping it gives us a miss.

Another thrilling day ahead! It's sad when the most exciting thing to do is tackle the ironing pile! Oh well, it's good news to hear this morning that we've passed the peak, but I don't think we should be rushing to lift restrictions just yet or I fear we'll be back to square one and the thought of yet more months of lockdown due to hasty lifting of this one fills me with despair.

sheepandcattle that was sad news about the calf. I suppose it happens every year, but nevertheless, it's upsetting. I hope your farmer neighbour has a calf for your cow to suckle.

Hope you finally get your roof sorted out, kitty - it's been a long time!

Thinking of your friends GD today, marydoll, and of Auntieflo . Hope all goes well.

To all feeling unwell, or with worries of any kind, I send you my best wishes. ?

Take care everyone.

Blossoming Fri 05-Feb-21 10:10:54

Good morning all. Good to see you back home safe Mick and to hear that your health is being looked after. Cold and rather damp here, I have laundry to do then may do some sewing later.

Hope everyone has a peaceful day.
