Just that really...

Texas lawyer trapped by cat filter on Zoom call, informs judge he is not a cat

Oh my gooness, I just read my grammer. I apologize that my American english looks even worse than normal. LOL

freedomfromthepast Thu 18-Feb-21 23:16:41

I just want to clear up the glue girl misconception.

She has no plans to sue. Our media went directly to lawyers to ask if she had a case. They all said ok of course. Which of course everyone jumped on to say she was planning to sue.

The place she went for treatment donated the treatment. She then donated the Go Fund Me money back to the place that treated her.

I hate that think of us Americans as a litigious lot. SOME of us are. But not hte majority of us.

The cat guy was hilarious.

If someone's stupid enough to spray gorilla glue on their hair they deserve everything they get.

Not spaghetti: because “see” can have the meaning “understand”.

Yes I know Jaxie - but it’s still funny when you hear it.

Hear’s another one I was sent tonight by my son...

The other men on the zoom call dared not crack a smile at the wistful kitty, but I bet their legs were shaking under the table with suppressed laughter! I was howling!

AGAA4 Thu 11-Feb-21 15:58:12

The cat on Zoom was hilarious but it was the look on one of the other's faces when he looked up and noticed he was speaking to a kitten.

Aepgirl Thu 11-Feb-21 15:48:48

Wouldn’t it be fun if we all appeared as animals?

Grandma11 Thu 11-Feb-21 13:36:22

Anyone who's ever worked in a hospital's A&E department will always have a few amusing similar stories to tell as these, most involve Superglue, Beads, or Vegetables of various kinds, but as a young Cadet nurse, I was once charged with the task of filling a bowl with warm water to aid the defrosting of a Frozen Chicken, which had somehow managed to get stuck fast onto the rather delicate parts of a drunken Gentilman!

Goodness knows how that one happened, but I decided it was best not to Ask!

schnackie Thu 11-Feb-21 13:00:28

Musicgirl OMG! shock grin. Maybe because I was a nurse, but I always check medication for ANY orifice under a bright light, no matter what time of day!

The zoom with the cat filter was hilarious. That would probably be me, too, as I’m not brilliant with technology ?.
The woman with the gorilla glue - well, honestly! To make it even more ridiculous, she will probably win with her lawsuit, if she goes ahead with it (but I would hope it would get laughed out of court), and have money left over from the Go Fund Me too, to buy lots and lots of hairspray!! (How are some people so gullible with these go fund me begging fests - yes, I know some are genuinely desperate and need help, but I suspect the majority are not).

I still remember a case when a man went to the bathroom in the middle of the night, did not switch on th light and applied what he thought was haemorrhoid cream. It turned out to be superglue...

I've watched the Zoom cat several times and it's given me a much needed giggle. Just wish I knew how to apply one of these filters myself!

Open Zoom as if for a meeting.
Click on the arrow by the video symbol.
For a different background, click choose virtual background. A choice will appear if your device is reasonably up to date
For filters, click choose video filter.
Various options will appear with which you can experiment.
Studio effects enables you to add facial features, including lip colour, which I find useful!
Good luck!

Yes, Green how do you define 'stupid'? My dear old mum would have said 'cunning'. Dare I say it's cynical? Or sneaky?

GreenGran78 Thu 11-Feb-21 12:02:54

I have just read a ‘follow-up’ to the glue girl story. She has started a Go Fund Me, which has, so far, raised $18,000. She has also been offered a free 3 hour procedure by a specialist, to remove the glue, which normally would cost $12,500.
Who said that being stupid doesn’t pay?

lovebeigecardigans1955 Thu 11-Feb-21 11:52:08

I read about glue girl t'other day. You really couldn't make it up, could you? She may well win her case too, if she decides to sue. Then Gorilla Glue will have to put extra warnings on their packaging, 'not to be used as a hairdressing product' which will cost them.
It's funny but Gorilla Glue won't be laughing.

Gwenisgreat1 Thu 11-Feb-21 11:48:21

"Chewbacca". not sure which is funniest, the fact she prayed her hair with the glue, or the fact she thinks she can sue because the glue omits to say don't spray hair with it!!

Tuckshop Thu 11-Feb-21 11:42:58

Thank heavens for these moments of light relief. Could not stop laughing at the cat one yesterday.

GreenGran78 Thu 11-Feb-21 11:30:20

The ‘glue girl’ could well be awarded damages. There have been many such cases, especially in America, which is why manufacturers put stupid warnings against every eventuality on products.
One that comes to mind is the lady who thought that ‘cruise control’ on the motor home she was driving was like autopilot on a plane. She set it, and went into the rear to make a drink. After the subsequent crash she successfully sued the manufacturers for not explaining the controls properly.
Cases like these explain why you are warned that the coffee you have bought could be hot!

I did laugh , my husband was looking at me as though I was nutty .

I've seen the cat incident, it's refreshing that it was actually the judge who had the sense of humour to let it be published in the media. I worked in the courts here in the UK many years ago and generally a sense of humour from the magistrates was not apparent, even for the odd funny occurrence in court. Very entertaining and brightened the day!

I thought the car one was hilarious. I watched it three times. I am not a cat

Squiffy Wed 10-Feb-21 12:27:54

What made me laugh was the cat's little mouth 'speaking'!
