Hello Everyone smile
Just wanted to get this in first wink

Fancy some verbal jousting; a bit of rumble; a good old punch up?

Well, you're in the right place! Enjoy!

Any ideas for potential topics please?

Can we have our thread back please or is it going to morph into yet another give us back our banned poster and ban anyone who reports? Pretty please. If people don’t like what HQ have done, then you are of course free to leave and join another forum - I believe the Over Fifties Forum is the pick of the month . Now where was I ? Oh yes. We seem to have moved on from cushions and socks and narrowly avoided a turn into the WW path. What now?

Did you actually read what NellG said?
It was bugger all to do with banned posters.
And if you are going to apportion ownership to the thread, I think that you will find that it's mine.

Don't pooling curtains get really grubby?
You wouldn't be able to have them with pets in the house.

Aveline Mon 22-Feb-21 13:20:26

I'm not lazy. I'm idle.

DiscoGran Mon 22-Feb-21 13:20:30

Oh, I'm all for lazyness, all my windows sport blinds, can't be doing with fussy curtains.

Peasblossom Mon 22-Feb-21 13:22:05

Just because you started the thread FannyCornforth doesn’t mean you own it.

I would say that my contributions have been more valuable than yours. loads of people wanted to talk about cushions and I started that.

(Will that do? I’m not very good at invective)

Ellianne Mon 22-Feb-21 13:22:10

Do curtains have to match with cushions?

FannyCornforth Mon 22-Feb-21 13:23:51

The thread would not exist if was wasn't for me.
I have created it and I can destroy it.

DiscoGran Mon 22-Feb-21 13:24:15

No no no, no matchy matchy curtains and cushions!!!!!!

FannyCornforth Mon 22-Feb-21 13:25:14

Ellianne

Do curtains have to match with cushions?

No.

grandmajet Mon 22-Feb-21 13:25:54

So I’m a lazy posh DiscoGran. Also grubby FannyCornforth!
How very dare you!
Don’t you think blinds are a bit, er , last year?

FannyCornforth Mon 22-Feb-21 13:25:55

But with socks, yes.

Mollygo Mon 22-Feb-21 13:26:32

We have blinds and curtains in some rooms. I like blinds upstairs. Close them whilst dressing, then open them to see the sky at night.
I solved one set of curtains that pooled a little bit by sending them to the dry cleaners. I daren't send the other set because currently, they’re just right!

FannyCornforth Mon 22-Feb-21 13:27:35

'Grubby FannyCornforth'
Grandmajet - is that me?

Ellianne Mon 22-Feb-21 13:28:32

Fanny this is a good thread because it couches serious underlying arguments in upholstery terminology.
Couch .. get it ...... sofa?

DiscoGran Mon 22-Feb-21 13:29:06

Well, I bought my blinds last year so I suppose they are......... ?

FannyCornforth Mon 22-Feb-21 13:30:03

Ellianne grin

LauraNorder Mon 22-Feb-21 13:30:33

Personally I don’t like curtains with big holes at the top so that a pole can go through.
I only have shutters on all of my windows but I do have a lovely heavy curtain ceiling to floor over the front door with pencil pleat top on a swish rail.
As I don’t have cushions in my hallway I don’t have to worry about matching.
As the curtain makes the hallway dark it wouldn’t matter anyway.
Good points NellG now let’s draw a curtain over it, preferably fully lined. Or should that be draw a line under it preferably fully curtained.

Peasblossom Mon 22-Feb-21 13:30:58

Blinds and curtains in the same room? Don’t you care about the environment?

suziewoozie Mon 22-Feb-21 13:36:58

I’ve almost moved completely to Roman blinds which I find tidier and more flexible. I use Terry's Fabrics for the er fabric and kits.

Greeneyedgirl Mon 22-Feb-21 13:37:03

Shutters - Oooooooh! Now that IS posh.

LauraNorder Mon 22-Feb-21 13:37:13

Lazy, idle, laid back, calm, relaxed, chilled, all the same to me.

Greeneyedgirl Mon 22-Feb-21 13:38:25

And me, but we’re not supposed to be agreeing on this thread are we?

LauraNorder Mon 22-Feb-21 13:39:06

Plantation shutters, practically royalty

suziewoozie Mon 22-Feb-21 13:39:08

I have stayed in two modern holiday homes with floor to ceiling windows - both had remote controlled blinds ( one house inside and the other external) Wonderful and not to be argued with.

LauraNorder Mon 22-Feb-21 13:40:10

The Rovers Return sitting room has the same shutters as mine, not so posh after all.
