Grandmafrench, lots of people say that M is my mini me!

Thank you for the kind comments about Henry. We feel at the moment we are in a period of calm with his allergies as with lockdown he is only ever with his parents or grandparents and we know what he can and can’t eat and if he does have a reaction how to deal with it.The big test will come when he goes to playgroup.I have nights when I just worry about it for hours, it really is a massive worry and always will be. There is a chance that his allergies may lessen so we just hope and pray that will happen.

Thinking of you all, you really are the best and so supportive?

NanaandGrampy Tue 16-Mar-21 09:33:17

Morning all,

I love the St David's Day picture, Henry is growing so fast Susan . That's my biggest sadness for the past year - how fast the grandchildren are growing up without us being there.

I started blogging on this day a year ago to pass the time of a 12 week lockdown and find it incredible that here we are 12 months later and still in Lockdown ! Mind you I now have 8.5k thousand readers - so life in the countryside is interesting to some people lol

Sorry to hear Fern and Mia are still absent without permission. Hoping for better news soon.

BladeAnnie Tue 16-Mar-21 11:32:18

Good morning and it seems like an age since I popped into the kitchen to say hello. I seem to have been really busy on nanna duty over the past week - not that I mind at all. I've not caved in with the diet yet and I lost 4lb last week smile. I think soop asked me last week about the diet I'm following. I'm doing slimfast - I have 2 shakes per day and a 600 cal-ish meal in the evening plus 3 snacks of around 100 cals. I've never done this before and I was maybe a bit sceptical but it's really working for me so far. We have a sainsbury's delivery due any time then we'll be taking my mum her order late afternoon. Chicken breast and roast veg when we get home. Sending hugs to everyone under the weather/facing difficulties and worries. Duncan says hello - he's out of hiding because there's no small person here!!

BladeAnnie Tue 16-Mar-21 11:33:50

Hello smile

soop Tue 16-Mar-21 11:42:21

A warm welcome to grandMattie.

I have nothing to report regarding the missing Fern pussy cat. Maybe later today. smile

I shall be absent for a few hours. The wardrobes have been emptied. The bedroom looks like a war zone. I am on a mega clear-out. A young friend is taking all the items that I'm parting with. She may sell some on ebay. She may give some away. The remainder will go to the Red Cross shop when it re-opens. I feel a sense of liberation with every garment I have decided must go. I am almost 80. The clothing that I've cherished is no longer suitable.

The sun is shining in bonnie Kintyre. I trust that you all have some coming your way. This isn't farewell. I shall be back later this afternoon. I need an update on Mia.

soop Tue 16-Mar-21 11:43:40

Hello handsome Duncan...a very fine feline. x

Galen Tue 16-Mar-21 11:45:59

I’m still here. Rather depressed so not posting much

kittylester Tue 16-Mar-21 11:51:31

Galen, lovely to see you. Please keep in touch. You know we can make you feel a lot better and wear pearls - that should help. Seriously, is there anything we can help with. Happy to be pmed if you want a chunter.

corner, I meant to get here earlier to wish you luck - sorry. Please let us know how you get on.

N&G, I'd love to read your blog if you could give me details.

Back later and TOYA.

Charleygirl5 Tue 16-Mar-21 12:11:58

corner with any luck you should be almost on your way home, the deed done and you can now relax. Hopefully Mr C will prepare the evening meal but like me, you will be organised in advance.

Duncan looks happy- well fed about to embark on at least 12 hours sleep. I am looking for a house like that which will take me in. I am no trouble to anybody.

I do hope the other two minxes appear- Fern and Mia. Fern I know can look after herself but Mia cannot- that is the worry.
TOYA

Grandmabatty Tue 16-Mar-21 15:28:28

Good afternoon all you lovely kitcheners. It has been such a lovely day today and blue skies make me feel good. Dgs and I have been outside most of the day. A walk to the swings this morning then out in the garden this afternoon. He had so much fun ana so did I. We're having a peaceful fifteen minutes before we tidy away all the toys and then take him home. Galen I'm sorry that you are feeling down. ? I hope you feel better soon. Have a good evening all

Susan56 Tue 16-Mar-21 15:35:48

The weathers not been great today so we have been confined to barracks with B?

I’m sorry you are feeling down Galen.Hopefully the approach of spring weather and being able to sit outside will help.Hoping you feel better soon?

Also hoping for news of the missing cats??

Yiayia4 Tue 16-Mar-21 16:00:47

Just spent over an hour queuing at the at the rubbish tip! Oh well it passes the time?
Hello beautiful kitty ? I do hope the missing ones will return.?
Hope all went well Cornergran and your at home now with your feet up?
?For you Galen

Jaxjacky Tue 16-Mar-21 16:39:49

Hi all, hope cornergran is home and all is well. BladeAnnie well done, tried Slimfast years ago, they were all sweet then, yuk.
I rushed around this morning, washing on, hung up, hob cleaned, quick walk, then a quick bath. I realised early on Cheltenham was on this afternoon, so have been glued, apart from the odd cup of tea and a small amount of prep for dinner. Yiayia4 since the first lockdown our county has moved to booking online for the tip, it’s much easier, minimal queuing, in, dump and out.
Hoping those pesky cats return soon.

brook2704 Tue 16-Mar-21 16:51:55

Hoping that those two little cats turn up soon - what worry they’re causing
Galen good to know you’re in the kitchen, but sorry that you’re feeling down. I’m sure we all feel that way from time to time. Sharing how you feel on here amongst friends hopefully helps in a small way ?
I’ve not done much today, it’s been a sunny day so DD2 came over to sit in the garden. It was lovely to see her of course, I’m usually just a listening ear to all types of woes and today was no different ... didn’t get a word in edgeways ?
Hope you’re home now cornergran and all is well

GrannyGravy13 Tue 16-Mar-21 17:11:48

Hi soop and fellow kitcheners, I have been rather busy on Granny duties along with sorting out various bits and bobs that I have been putting off since the beginning of first lockdown!

No hope of catching up, sorry.

Galen sorry you are feeling down, time to put on those pearls ?

cornergran Tue 16-Mar-21 17:35:51

Hello everyone. Thank you for asking about me All went well this morning, nothing nasty found and the staff couldn’t have been kinder. The consultant was as gentle as anyone could have been, apologising when there was discomfort. Yes, Mr C is indeed cooking, I’m doing as I was told and eating small amounts. Strangely don’t feel at all hungry. One thing off the list of ailments, hooray.

I’m sorry Fern hasn’t reappeared soop, been wondering about her and Mia. Your clothing cull sounds therapeutic. It would be a good thing to do here, I may, one year grin.

I’m sorry life is hard going galen, I’d been wondering about you.

Another here who would love to read your blog if you’d share the details n&g, give me a much needed countryside fix.

Duncan looks very aristocratic bladeannie, a handsome cat.

I’m being asked to confirm or indeed deny that the food is cooked. Best go and see.

Take care everyone. Enjoy your evenings.

Puzzler61 Tue 16-Mar-21 17:42:45

Thinking of everyone, feeling down, worried or concerned about children - young or adults - or the 2 missing furry people.
(I hope Mia and Fern will appear soon)
Hope all went well today cornergran ?
Hello to Duncan, the beautiful boy.
The Spring flowers are magnificent now, and I bring some to the kitchen for you all.

soop Tue 16-Mar-21 17:43:44

Good to have you back with us, GrannyGravy. Also, welcome back to Galen I'm sorry to hear that you are feeling down. Please share with us lot if sharing helps. flowers

corner please update us when you are able. Hoping that you are home safe and sound.

No pussy cat Fern. Such a long time of no see. I am concerned for Mia. Please let there be better news from Hellogirl1 very, very soon.

I am knackered. A day of sorting wardrobes. At one point, I couldn't see the bed. Back aches a wee bit. All garments sorted and bagged and the wee hoos is looking as it should. Have been in pj's throughout the day. Now need to shower and make myself look presentable. May treat myself to a G&T later this evening. wink

Until tomorrow. Big virtual hugs for every one of you. Because you deserve them. smile moon

soop Tue 16-Mar-21 17:44:32

Thank you, Puzzler, your flowers never fail to cheer. x

Grandmabatty Tue 16-Mar-21 19:42:21

brook2704 Tue 16-Mar-21 20:02:46

Beautiful spring flowers puzzler definitely a cheerful corner of the kitchen!
Pleased all went well corner have a restful evening

Urmstongran Tue 16-Mar-21 20:15:03

‘Evening All’
?

A good day here. The decking outside our front door has been replaced and the contractors will be on site tomorrow to do the area at the front of our neighbour’s - she is the last. It looks very smart. I noticed our maple tree in the big pot that we position by the front door is full of green shoots. ?

The sun has been shining here in south Manchester today. It lifts the spirits. We’ve been looking on line at Mr. O’Leary’s website for flights .... there are some amazing offers to tempt us. Hmm. Getting properly excited now just thinking about the possibilities!

Duncan is the most beautiful cat BladeAnnie. He looks like a pedigree? Sorry to hear that the other two cats are still AWOL. I hope it’s not too long before they are home safe and sound. I’ve never owned a cat (mind you I’ve heard it said no-one has ... they have servants apparently) but I think they do go missing from time to time as they are adept at looking after themselves. Fingers crossed. x

Wishing all of us a peaceful night ahead.

‘Goodnight All ‘.

Doodle Tue 16-Mar-21 20:19:26

corner sorry I missed wishing you well. Glad you’re home safely and all is well. Don’t forget to take it easy.
Galen sorry to hear you are feeling down. Hope things improve soon ?
Still waiting on news about Fern and Mia. Hope they return soon.
Yiayia why did you have to queue so long.......wouldn’t they take you ? (Hope that’s come across as the joke it was intended)
Lovely flowers again Puzzler

Doodle Tue 16-Mar-21 20:21:16

Ooh Urms you pushed passed me in the doorway ?
A maple tree sounds lovely. May we have a picture when it is in full bloom please.

Urmstongran Tue 16-Mar-21 20:33:59

You may indeed have a photo Doodle ?
The leaves are just so pretty. We brought it with us when we downsized 10 years ago. We couldn’t leave it behind!
