Morning all, nothing much to report, and just housework on today’s agenda . Had a ‘through the window’chat with the grandchildren on Tuesday on way back from having the Pfizer jab.
No really debilitating side effects thus far but injection site was tender and arm ached a bit. Yesterday I felt a bit lethargic (CBA more like ?) but that probably had nothing to do with the jab- think that’s my default mood these days.
? for those feeling a bit ‘meh’, poorly or with worries.

Good morning from central Lanarkshire. Wet and very windy here. Nothing planned as usual, just take it a day at a time. Have a pleasant day and keep safe

amselerin Thu 18-Feb-21 09:14:29

Good morning to all of you from a warmer and brighter (the sun is just peeking out beyond the trees) start to the day.
Not much planned, how could it? I shall force Waldi to come out with me to the shop. The snow has melted away and Waldi keeps running to the terrace door for me lo let him out. This has happened about 15 times this morning already. He runs just round the corner of the house and then comes back to collect a little treat. I know, that this is my own fault, for giving him a treat each time. But he used to run away very often before, so I enticed him back with a treat. Now he stays around this area and I suppose getting up so often to open the door is good for me.
I do love the reports about the farm sheep and cattle. They are like a good reading book. It really makes one really appreciate the meat we buy.
I like this chat because it makes one realize that we all have more or less the same feelings and problems.
I hope that all of you who are ill in any way will be better soon.
Take care. x

Good morning all,

What a difference a day makes - yesterday’s weather wasn’t too bad until the evening, but today we have heavy rain showers and blustery wind. It looks set for the day in this part of South Yorkshire.

Pilates shortly, so this is a quick hello. I will read all the posts later.

Take care everyone. ?

Grammaretto Thu 18-Feb-21 09:16:48

Good Morning everyone from the Scottish Borders where it is currently 8°C and blowing a hoolie. {I have proudly discovered how to make a degree symbol thus I keep letting you know) little things and all that

I was firing my gas kiln until very late last night/this morning. It won't be cool enough to open until tomorrow. I would use the electric kiln but an element has broken so I also need a sparky to come and help. I am not good at those kind of things.

How long will you have to be in the lambing caravan Sheepandcattle? I visited a local farm during lambing was told it took weeks.

Gaelic homework this morning for class this afternoon.
Unpicking my knitting which looks a mess. A few messages and that's me.
Sending cheer up vibes to all those feeling low today grandMattie, Urmston, oops flowers

farview Thu 18-Feb-21 09:17:12

I dont post very often on the GM thread...but just want to send a hug to grandMattie...you are a wonderful person....??
Cant understand why the problem with PM's isnt being sorted!!!
Take care Mick and all..

Sar53 Thu 18-Feb-21 09:19:18

Nannyjan53 you can go online and book your jab. That's what I did and we are the same age. You don't have to wait for a letter.
Urmstongran sorry you are feeling so rough, that was me on Tuesday evening, just a sore arm now. Hope you feel better soon.

GrannySomerset Thu 18-Feb-21 09:25:11

Grey and unexciting morning with only a trip to the surgery to collect prescriptions planned. Feel I ought to be doing something but nothing appeals, so probably reading and the inevitable filing which breeds in its basket when I’m not looking.

Sorry so many have had miserable reactions to vaccination. Worth it though. Glad to have Grandmattie’s news of Iris (fingers crossed that all continues to go well) and enjoyed this morning’s update on the maternity front - our own version of Farming Today. Sympathy to Cherry who is having a rough time, thinking of Georgesgran, and missing Ellan.

Gelisajams Thu 18-Feb-21 09:26:29

Good morning from a wet Morecambe Bay though it’s forecast to dry up shortly.
I got in the garden yesterday and have made a start removing the millions of annoying little weeds which spring up everywhere. I don’t think I’ll be able to domuch as we have had torrential rain over night and my clay soil will be sodden again.
I think I’ll have to pretend someone is coming out visit. That may motivate me to get some housework done!
Take care and stay safe everyone ?

LauraNorder Thu 18-Feb-21 09:26:48

Good morning from bright and sunny Anglesey. Sorry about sending the rain Pantglas, hopefully the blue skies will be along shortly.
Without purpose grandMattie I think Iris and her big sister would beg to differ.
Sorry your daughter is suffering Oopsadaisy, it’s horrid when our children are in pain and we can’t change it for them.
I stayed away for a little while because I didn’t want to be a hypocrite. Sorry Mick but I feel a bit cross with you. If you insist on being out and about the least you can do is wear a mask while you are inside a shop, on a bus or in a takeaway outlet. Please think of others. By all means take it off again once outdoors as long as you are maintaining safe distance. There I’ve said it and hope I’ll be welcome back on this lovely thread of yours Mick.

mumofmadboys Thu 18-Feb-21 09:27:02

Good morning all! Thinking of all those with worries or illnesses. Not much to report from Cumbria. Just got back from an hour's walk and off to soak in the bath! Some days I feel motivated and other days I achieve very little. Sainsburys are coming here today too!Have the best day you can all

Marydoll Thu 18-Feb-21 09:35:30

Welcome back, Laura, there was absolutely no need to stay away. flowers.

Forsythia Thu 18-Feb-21 09:45:57

A late good morning from Surrey where we have pouring rain and grey skies. We are having our jabs this morning! Hurray!
Hope everyone has a good day or as best as they can make it.

LauraNorder Thu 18-Feb-21 09:49:37

Thanks Marydoll.

grandMattie Thu 18-Feb-21 09:51:56

Just heard fromDD. Iris (and she) had an expected disturbed night, but all is going as planned.

You ladies are SO lovely. ?☀️? ❤️ Thank you for all your encouragement. Sadly, out of the blue the black dog or puppy in this case, descends. It goes but is unpleasant while it lasts. ☹️

baubles Thu 18-Feb-21 09:53:32

Popping back in to share my happiness. Daughter-out-law just FaceTimed with the two little ones. She’s never done that before, not sure why and neither has DS despite me asking once or twice, although I know he hates video calling so I haven’t pushed it.

Anyhoo it was just wonderful to see their little faces and have a fairly one sided chat with them. Happy Grandma now. smile

Marydoll Thu 18-Feb-21 09:55:23

Baubles, what a lovely start to your day!

NanKate Thu 18-Feb-21 09:55:54

Thanks Sparklefizz for your concern. I’m feeling a bit better but not 100%. I must learn to be patient.

Sorry NannyJ to hear of your dizziness. Could it be an inner ear infection? I would give the doc a call if it continues. ?

grandMattie Thu 18-Feb-21 10:02:41

Oh, baubles, lucky you! How lovely.
Another Iris update. Her mum hopes they’ll be allowed home today.
My reading is that a) the operation wasn’t as serious as the first, b) she recovered very well from the previous one so there is no reason for her to stay in.
We’ll see and I’ll keep you lovely people updated! ❤️

NannyJan53 Thu 18-Feb-21 10:03:27

Thank you NanKate I will phone Doctors if it persists, but last time it happend it just disappeared the next day.

Sar53 I have been on the website, but the nearest one is too far away, and I have heard reports of massive queues. Whereas my Doctors are doing it literally a 10 minute walk away. If I don't hear by the end of the week, I may have to go to the Black Country Museum.

grandMattie Thu 18-Feb-21 10:05:36

Sorry, keep on remembering people I want to mention - I don’t miss anyone out on purpose.
Ash, thank you for your kind word, Marydoll, baubles, et al, you have made me feel much less sad.
Urms, I hope your headache goes. The side effects of OAZ seem to ambush loads of us and, curiously, in many different ways.
??????❤️☀️

CherryCezzy Thu 18-Feb-21 10:10:22

I don't like the sound of your dizzy spells NannyJan. Do you have blood pressure problems by any chance? I agree with NanKate, a call to the Dr can't do any harm ?

Oopsadaisy and Urmstongran flowers

I want to thank everyone who have sent me well wishes this morning, it does mean a lot ?

By the way, the ? has come out here so I'm sending some to all of you - ?

Grandmafrench Thu 18-Feb-21 10:26:07

Good Morning lovely peoples - Tail End Charlie here! After a glorious sit in the garden weather day yesterday, drizzly for today. Still, it keeps us on our toes.

In no particular order, chaps: Morning Grammaretto, the Queen of CheerUp vibes - hope you are doing well. Imagine booking a staycation in a Sheep Maternity Ward, sheep, have you lost the plot? It seriously sounds like a real plan, though, and will hopefully allow some round the clock care for your ladies, and not have poor you running around the farm in the dark and too much worrying at night. We’re all waiting with great excitement for the first photo! A Mum and baby doing well photo. We only had 19 ewes - but they all had twins. You can imagine my surprise and delight. Our very first were Baaasil and Baaarbara - Scottish Blackface and so beautiful.

NannyJan poor you. Middle ear infection or maybe you’ve hurt your neck? Don’t suffer in silence too long. NanKate be good and finish the course.

Mattie Just stop it! You’re definitely allowed to feel down - we’re all here for you. But don’t say you’re useless, because that’s just not true! ? Read Ash’s earlier post again! Sending you hugs and smiling with relief at Iris’ progress. ?.

Cherry. Yay! Lovely to see you. I have my own suspicions about the ‘strange’ PM situation!!!!!!!!! To all those I’m out of touch with - thinking of you and sending love and hugs. We all are suffering from a lack of hugs - I’m surprised we don’t have imaginary friends now for company in some of our do nothing days.

Oopsa What ‘awful post’ ? Aren’t you just speaking from your heart? ?. Poor you, Urms - just lie still and do nothing at all until you feel better. At least you know you’re not suffering alone! ?. Give Microsoft a kick from me, grannysyb. Hope you’re o.k. , and sending love to you Ellan the Crumpet Queen. Laura Hello hello......you should be a lot more concerned about the weather you’re dumping on poor Pants ?.

I’d love to stay and chat and waste even more of your time, but I have loads of friends visiting today, so must get on with my chores.........?. So, take good care everyone, especially anyone wobbly or weepy. Thinking of you, Georgesgran and AuntieFlo. Be good to yourselves and have the best day you can all.

?‍♀️???

Good Morning all. It was blue skies at 8:00 now 10:00 and rain but more blue skies expected. Hope so. Another long walk with Mya at near by NT property. No cattle grazing now. Had to detour the walks there last year. I got chased and had to let Mya's lead go or they would have trampled her.

S&C. Such a busy life on the farm. Lovely news about the calf. Does it have a name yet? Hope you've got plenty of supplies in the caravan to see you through.

I too love a market Marydoll. The big one at Truro will start again soon I hope. I miss my day out there. Our outside lights are abysmal. No street lights as we're at the end of a long track. I wear a head torch constantly. It blinds the sainsbury's delivery man/woman if they arrive in the dark. The two lights we fitted 4 years ago keep shorting out. ~Must make a decision on what to do as the path around the cottage is doing to be altered this year, mainly due to the lighting we need in getting out to the log store.

Have a good Thursday everyone.

Auntieflo Thu 18-Feb-21 10:35:43

Good morning Mick, *Annie and all.
Beechnut, you didn't go to grammar school in Isleworth, did you? We had trees as House names.

Off for my biopsy in a mo, but just thought I would pop in here first. So many posts and will have to read later.

flowers for GrandMattie, and Cherrychezzie. flowers

Have to get my coat now. See you all later.
Have a good day one and all.
