Today , as to watching sport such as cycling is live on Eurosport midmorning today ,and all the week so that will occupy my mind, to watch a real vent taking place although its from the UAE states .
Otherwise , I will have a quiet day , and hopefully see what is said later as to lockdown .
Take care,
Mick

Glad to hear Marydoll is feeling brighter today and Iris is doing bettter.
Great cake Grandmabatty
So many people to send good wishes to. Please accept ? .
Events over the last couple of weeks gave me quite a health scare but has focused my mind on improving my diet and exercise . So hope these measures will help.
Thanks for the good wishes yesterday.
Maybe we will hear today that we will soon be able to see loved ones in the flesh and actually be able to sit and have a proper chat. That will help too.
Hope you all find a ?today.

Good Morning from the Scottish Borders where it is 6°C and cloudy. I can still remember the first time I saw snow proper Bellasnana I was nearly 10 and we had just arrived from NZ by ship. A journey of 6 weeks crossing the equator and including a day at Sydney zoo when we nearly melted along with the poor animals. Snow was so exciting though the novelty wore off when I developed chilblains.
Happy Birthday to your DGD. One minute they are born and the next they are teenagers.

I think a few of us watched Countryfile with a new insider knowledge Sheepandcattle Although you seem to be doing all the work yourself.

Our DGD begins back at real school today. I was sent a poignant photo of her with her face mask on for the bus.

Congratulations baubles Happy Anniversary
I am glad you sound more upbeat today Marydoll but please show him the Jaxjacky cartoon before he begins! grin

Have the best day you can everyone.

Good Morning all from dreich Harrogate. Your Dh grandMattie Is stuck in his rigid ways like mine, is he a Virgo perchance? Mine won't have salad in Winter or Ice cream because they are summer food. Whatever I ask him to do there is a too in front of his excuse, too hot, too cold, too late, too early, too big, too small, too many, too few
- it drives me utterly bananas!! Glad Iris is recovering.
Nothing much planned today apart from chatting to my school friend, and then to my sister.
You sound a bit brighter Marydoll I take it you are feeling better!
Hope those worries and ailments will blow away today - tomorrow is another day!

Marydoll Mon 22-Feb-21 10:22:15

Too late. I'm very slow this morning!By the time I got going, he had disappeared. Two trees cut already! There may be a murder, involving a power say. Call Tagfart! ??????

Marydoll Mon 22-Feb-21 10:23:34

Taggart, but Tagfart may be more appropriate in DHs case! ?

hulahoop Mon 22-Feb-21 10:28:08

Morning from a very wet West Yorkshire nothing much planned today as usual . Happy anniversary baubles.?oliversgran . Looking forward to seeing the lamb .marydoll glad you are feeling a little better .

Morning from a sunny S Lanarkshire. Happy anniversary to you both baubles, I was over in your ‘bit’ yesterday, having a lovely walk with my bubble daughter, it was so nice in the sun.
Happy birthday to your grandson Grandmabatty and your granddaughter Bellasnana, two great pictures. I hope you have a lovely FaceTime.
My wee grandson is also back to school this morning, my daughter says he and all the other children were so excited to see each other, it was quite touching.
Wishing everyone the best day possible and remembering those for whom the day will be hard.

Marydoll Mon 22-Feb-21 10:53:17

The culprit! He is for it, as we say here in Glasgow.

Taichinan Mon 22-Feb-21 11:00:58

Good morning all. Glad you've got your cycling back Mick. It's a very still day here in the Angus coast - one of those very rare days with no wind, so maybe coffee outside today (well wrapped up of course).
Very sad news from my youngest DGD yesterday. One of her classmates has died, a "drug-related" death. So shocking, and so utterly needless. And so frightening that drugs are so easily come by, even in a relatively quiet Highland town. I hope this awful death will make the other youngsters think and realise that the warnings are actually true.
Happy anniversary Baubles and Mr B. Have a happy day.
And happy Birthday to all the birthday grandchildren. And to Ace of course! The lambing season has started - when do you move into your caravan sheep? I felt quite smug watching Countryfile last night and knowing what Adam was talking about - are you sure you're not Adam in drag? I expect your ewes are as multi coloured as his, which were taking on an interesting tartan hue.
Lovely photo Ashcombe - what a superb costume.
Glad Marydoll is feeling a bit more like, and Iris is making rapid progress.
? to georgesgran.
I agree with you Gelisajams about priority vaccination of teachers - an omission I can't understand.
There feels to be a more upbeat note to the thread this morning which I am sure must be due to the hope we all feel. Hope that 'freedom' will indeed eventually come and that we are now moving steadily towards it. And of course the hope of Spring and warmer days in the gardens, parks and countryside. My own thoughts wander off to tai chi in the garden by the pond, or better still on the beach to the music of the waves and the gulls. Pure bliss!
Have the best day everyone ???

grandMattie Mon 22-Feb-21 11:02:57

Gwen, DH daren’t comment about food because he knows I would go on strike and just stop feeding him! Actually he lives salad and would have it most days.
Goodness, MrMary looks precarious! Hope he’s safe.

Good morning from a very damp and dismal South Yorkshire.
It may brighten up a bit later, but for now it's very wet.

Not a lot planned today, surprise, surprise ?. Just a few general household chores. If it dries up I might venture out for a walk, I really could do with the exercise as I'm sitting around far too much.

Happy anniversary, Baubles ?

Good news that the first lamb has arrived, sheepandcattle - the start of a busy 3 weeks.

? oliversgran.

Take care everyone.

GrannyOwl5 Mon 22-Feb-21 11:15:00

I’ve got one of those Marydoll. The only reason he’s not balanced at the top of the trees is that we had the tree surgeon in last November ?

Feelingmyage55 Mon 22-Feb-21 11:27:22

Good morning all. Snow has gone from low levels here in the north of Scotland and we have very dramatic flooding. However the sun is shining and I’ve been spending time in the garden
sheepandcattle. Enjoy your stories so much. May I ask why there are so many multiple births and do the multiple births increase the risk of prolapse? I’m looking forward to the baby photos.
Flowers and encouragement to those of you with such serious illness to deal with either personally or partners.

Good Morning everyone. Just made it. Blue skies in Cornwall but I had a lie in. Much needed. Walked Mya at 6:00am. Wanted catch her and I did. First day of new food seems to be working. Holding my breath as I've been here lots of times.

Taggart - excellent

I'll be back at coffee break to read everyone's Monday news.

oliversnana Mon 22-Feb-21 11:49:07

Thank you for the flowers) kind wishes. Concidering the times we've living think mum would have been pleased with the service

hollysteers Mon 22-Feb-21 11:55:13

Good morning Mick and all from Sunnyside northwest coast. Must get out and get a shot of Vitamin D.
Hardly know what day it is, but remember the cat goes to the vet on Wednesday for routine check up. Now she has discovered Dreamies, she seems to be unconcerned about other food, what do they put in them? Catnip?
Tried spraying watercolour from a toothbrush on to the greetings cards I am making and pleased with the speckled result.
Thinking of Georgesgran, Auntieflo and CherryCezzy I hope your seizures keep at bay, my husband suffered with them, it’s not easy.
Also, keep well everyone, the big, little, small and tall.

Annapops Mon 22-Feb-21 11:57:46

Good morning all from a rather damp County Durham.

A busy day ahead with housework as we relaxed rather too much last week (I was still feeling over excited about having received our vaccines earlier than expected).

Yesterday the weather was so Spring like we decided to put on our walking boots and cover a 10.5 mile circular around our home village taking in lots of countryside. It was wonderful to see at close hand some of the places we so often drive past in the car without noticing. One was a beautiful bungalow pirched above a valley. The owner was in his garden and told us it had been built on the stone ledge of a former quarry and he and his wife were the first protestant occupants in over 150 years. In another village we passed through, which is more like just a street of houses, there was hunting strewn everywhere, across houses, gardens, walls, trees and even the children's playpark. What a joyful colourful sight which gave a real sense of close community in the area.

We returned home with tired legs but also a feeling of achievement as we are hoping to tackle St. Cuthbert's Way later in the year, if restrictions allow.

So sad to hear about your G D's friend Taichinan. What a waste of a young life and so hard for family and friends to deal with. Is this the dancing GD you mentioned? Congratulations regarding her college acceptance. My little dancing GD is still only nine years old and will soon need to decide if it is gymnastics or ballet she will follow as the training time is already becoming very demanding.

Happy birthday to your GD Bella. What a lovely photo of her enjoying the snow. To others celebrating anniversaries and birthdays in lockdown today have the best time you can.

Sending love to Georgesgran too who has so much to cope with presently. I don't think you are that far away from me so maybe coffee in the cathedral beckons one day in the future along with anyone else who cares to join us. thanks

Nannagarra Mon 22-Feb-21 12:20:40

What is it with men? My DH reads ‘pruning’ as ‘butchering’ and can’t wait to get started!
?for oliversnana.

Sheepandcattle Mon 22-Feb-21 12:37:03

As promised, Number 1 ?. Small but perfectly formed! Nothing else occurring yet in the lambing shed.
In answer to a couple of questions asked, yes you can easily have a ram ‘firing blanks’ and it can be caused by all manner of things. I have 6 rams and 2 ‘teasers’. The teasers are rams that have had a vasectomy and they go in with the ewes for 14 days before the actual rams go in - the purpose to get the girls ‘excited’ and cycling. Then the teasers come out and the rams go in to finish the job! I normally divide the ewes into 3 groups with 2 rams per group in the hope that if one ram has an ‘equipment failure’, the other will succeed. It’s not unusual for both rams to cover the same ewe and often, when twins are born it is apparent that they have different fathers. I generally give the ewes a stern talking to when this happens - naughty girls!
The other question was about multiple births and prolapses and yes, it does indeed increase the risk. I can’t recall ever having a ewe carrying a single lamb prolapse. When you pick up triplet lambs together and feel the combined weight, it’s a wonder that the ewe can even stand up with them inside let alone keep them all inside!
Back to the lambing shed now - I hope those gentlemen up ladders today descend the correct way ie feet first!

grandMattie Mon 22-Feb-21 13:00:47

Awwww! What a poppet! Congratulations.

CherryCezzy Mon 22-Feb-21 13:04:30

Aww Sheepandcattle ?

For Oliversnana ?

Thanks hollysteers, I wouldn't wish them on anyone. Sorry to hear that your DH suffered them. It's frightening for loved ones.
