Good Morning Everyone ,
Its a bit twilight this morning here in Brackley but its dry outside.
Plan to do a small shop later, about mid morning .
Yesterday , watch my cycling on Eurosport which gave GB riders for there respective teams podium places .
Hopefully, if the sport continues to plan for the year , GB riders will take podium spots .
Take Care,
Mick

Good morning from a sunny NE where we have a harsh frost.
Woken at 7.45 by a call on my mobile telling me I was going to be arrested for tax fraud, what I would like to do to these scammers is unprintable.
Nothing planned for today, might make some soup as the carrots are enormous and gnarled and not table suitable.
Watched some good films over the weekend, Capone starring Tom Hardy was well filmed.
Thoughts are with Georgesgran.

Good morning, it's a tad misty 'up north this morning. I don't often follow this thread but found Sheepandcattle's comment truly heartwarming, thank you!
Sad times in our little community after two very lovely neighbours pass away. However, we are all pulling together and supporting each other best we can.
Stay safe everyone, have the best day possible.

Morning all from a sunny south coast. 4.3c on my weather station earlier.

This week's agenda is looking busier than for some time, culminating in DH's theatre appearance on Friday. DD and DSiL brought back our old garage fridge yesterday, which they had borrowed whilst their giant wardrobe-sized fridge was repaired. He is taking DH on Friday morning for his 7.30am booking in and warned me that at present visitors are not allowed in the hospital, except to patients in their last few days of life.
Good job we have our mobiles for contact.

We had another productive afternoon in the front garden yesterday and were charmed by a little girl of about 7, walking by with her Granny. She was obviously a child with multiple disabilities but very curious and wanted to chat- so we did.

She was curious about why DH had dug a hole "in the mud" and wanted to stroke our beautiful daffodil display, so I gave her two or three to take home. Her Granny said she is very hard work as she never stops repeating questions. She goes to a special school, which she loves and will spend a lot of time telling her teachers about the man digging a hole! It added to our enjoyment of a beautiful afternoon in the spring sunshine to see a happy little girl trot off with her flowers tightly clutched in her hand.

Hoping for a good day for us all. sunshine

Good morning everyone from south Manchester where it’s a lovely sunny morning. I’m off for a walk with my friend at lunchtime - she of the 11,000 steps so I’ll save my shower till mid afternoon.

1st March eh.? Moving along quite nicely towards unlocking. The independent wine & coffee bar in the square downstairs where I get our pretty regular takeaway coffees will be opening on 12 April. As it’s in the square they have plenty of room for tables outside and I’ve already told them, the first warm sunny afternoon I plan for us to sit outside, sunglasses on and share a bottle of Veuve Cliquot with Himself to celebrate! ? ☀️?? Now that will be progress back to freedom.

Happy anniversary cornergran you made me laugh about exchanging medals! Congratulations DannieRae for the safe arrival of a baby in your family ?? I’m sure the world will be a nicer place with her in it. How these years pass Bellasnana you’re so right. I look back in amazement to be honest. Shame about those herbs Marydoll but enjoy the shopping today. I shall be 3 weeks post jab next week and we plan a trip to M&S with my stepfather. Not been there for months!

Hope Monday is good to us all. Special hug to you Georgesgran coping with this tough time in your life. Keep safe everyone that’s the main thing. x

Urmstongran Mon 01-Mar-21 08:31:37

Oops, your shopping day is tomorrow Marydoll sorry! Ah well, enjoy your empty ~ almost as exciting. Many happy returns of the day to you Jaxjacky and like many of us, a WASPI. That pension money dropping into your bank every four weeks is bluddy fantastic! I’ve had mine since last summer and it’s still a novelty.

Wishing you a very Happy Birthday jaxjacky enjoy your special day! ????

Good morning, Michael and all GNs. The fog was so thick at around half past five you couldn’t see across the road. It has thinned a bit now, but it’s very chilly. What a difference a day makes! It was shirt sleeve order almost yesterday, out walking. I think we are in for a week of not seeing the sun. We passed a field full of lambs and their mums yesterday, S&C - I thought of you and your lovely interesting posts. How you stay awake long enough to see them into the world defeats me. Nothing much planned here today; a bit of baking and something light for supper.
A very happy anniversary to Mr and Mrs Corner!????
Have a good day folks.

Morning all from a very bright Kent. I don’t usually post this early, I am definitely an owl not a lark - but our fence chap arrived on the dot of 08:00. I unlocked the back gate and then he decided he needed more paint so has disappeared to get some. DH is staying in bed ( he works nights) so muggins here had to get up. He had his vaccine yesterday and has complained ever since. “ Why did it bleed? Even the nurse commented he said” , “ Why say don’t drive for 15 minutes, I could have a reaction while driving home on the motorway”, “I’ll probably have to tell work I can’t come in tonight” “How long did your arm hurt for? “ If this is what he is like after a vaccination, lord knows what he’ll be like after his cholecystectomy. He’s waited over a year for an urgent op but has his pre op assessment next Monday so looks like he will be having it at Easter. At least I don’t have to worry about him picking up Covid in William Harvey hospital ( which is/was the hub for all Covid in Kent.
So I now have several extra hours to fill, I will tackle the Times crossword and catch up on my Pigeonhole book.
Have a happy pleasant St David’s day!

Susan56 Mon 01-Mar-21 08:41:59

Good morning all from beautiful sunny Anglesey. Happy Saint David’s Day.
Very Happy Birthday ? JaxJacky, hope it’s a good one.
Congratulations Dannirae, lovely news ?.
Jug of daffodils for all of you, I particularly like the shadow they cast on the worktop.
My thoughts are with Georgesgran and everyone with sadness, pain and anxiety.

My photo didn’t come up

Grandmabatty Mon 01-Mar-21 08:49:09

Good morning all from a sunny and cold Polmont. It's 3° at the moment. The sunshine is very welcome though. Happy anniversary to Cornergran and her husband and happy birthday to JaxJacky.
I have little on the agenda today. As it's so nice, I'll get back out into the garden and continue tidying. I might even clean the summer house. Yesterday was a pleasant day. I saw lots of neighbours passing as I worked away in the front garden so much blethering occurred. Then my cousin appeared with a gift for my dd so another blether. No babysitting this week as dd is on holiday. I'm hoping for a visit tomorrow though. I hope you all have a good day.

LauraNorder Mon 01-Mar-21 08:49:11

Oh dear, it did come up along with goodness knows what

Grandmafrench Mon 01-Mar-21 08:49:21

Happy Anniversary the Corners. Enjoy your ? after the ?. It’s our wedding anniversary tomorrow - will plan a special meal. Many happy returns, Jax - ? And everyone be thankful we’re into March....yay.....Happy St David’s Day and Pinch, Punch and No returns !?

Now, back to Monday. Car for MOT., Drive to be sprayed, another hedge clipped, curtains to wash, some ironing to be done.(...oooh, surprise). I need to get a wiggle on. My anti-inflammatories are working but I must take some time to find an Acupuncturist before my ankle starts playing up again. ?.

For all you dear people with real pain, sadness and problems, I’m sending love and hugs and strength. May some sunshine lift your mood and warm your hearts today. ?. Keep safe. x

?‍♀️?

Anniebach Mon 01-Mar-21 08:50:10

Good morning Auntyflo and all x

Grandmafrench Mon 01-Mar-21 08:55:40

Laura does the 2nd photo show your schedule for today? Although I have one of the inside of my head which is quite similar. ?

Borrheid55 Mon 01-Mar-21 08:55:41

Marydoll forgot to say - when DH was being vaccinated I walked round Asda. I got pepper, chives and carrot seeds. I also picked up thyme and parsley growing plants. They came in a paper bag with soil and roots but no pots for 50p! Instant refresh for my herb garden. They had basil, coriander and mint too. Our garden centres are open though some departments are closed off ( Pavers concession, clothes) but we were too late yesterday. I will get some seeds started indoors as even down here it is too cold for germination. ( Miss McLachlan would be proud of my scientific approach to gardening! ) I have a long shopping list for my next visit to Longacres . I’m going to ask the fence chap if he can use the old panels and posts to make raised beds - that would be a welcome addition. Enjoy your empty!

grannysyb Mon 01-Mar-21 08:56:16

Good morning, grey and chilly here. Must go and pick up a few things from the supermarket this morning. Zoom book group tonight, my choice Bernadine Evaristo "Girl, woman, other," I really enjoyed it. Thinking of Georgesgran and anyone else who has worries. Hope SandC has a steady day in the lambing shed.

LauraNorder Mon 01-Mar-21 08:58:36

That’s it Grandmafrench my schedule for the rest of the week in fact grin

Grammaretto Mon 01-Mar-21 09:03:35

Good morning Mick and all from a frosty, sunny Scottish Borders. 0°C
No lambs in the fields here yet, or daffodils flowering. Thanks for yours LauraNorder
You sound in good spirits Mick
You are right about communications improving Beechnut
When my DB and then DS moved abroad, phoning was so expensive, we would stutter a few words. Now with zoom and WhatsApp etc the problem is how and when to say goodbye. Zoom runs out after 40 mins which is useful. But letter writing has become a lost art.

Hope you all have a good day whatever you get up to.
Happy Birthday Jaxjacky
Happy anniversary to the Corners
I missed the news of a new babe Danirae but welcome tiny person!
Thinking of Georgesgran flowers

Happy St David's Day

muse Mon 01-Mar-21 09:04:26

Good Morning from grey Cornwall but like many, sun's expected.
Caring thoughts for you all. Hope you get that dizziness sorted Mick
Have you tried Sarah Raven for herbs Marydoll. Have a super shopping spree at HB.
Good luck with the adoptions Sheep. I would take one if possible.
More gardening today. Strawberries going in. Growing lots of cut flowers this year so seeds going in for those. Need to clear the propagator. It becomes a storage shelf over the winter.
Missed my chat with daughter over the weekend. She had to work. Hope for a long catch up tonight
Very loud knocking from the woodpeckers this morning. Wondering if they are tapping on the pylons. The sound is different. Silly birds wink

Take care on any travels you are all doing today.

Good morning all - said with a big smile and a cheery wave because at last it is the 1st of March! It's the first day of meteorological spring and there's a spring in my step too. Now whatever gets thrown at us weather wise, it shouldn't last too long and warmer days and shorter nights are rushing to meet us. It's a lovely day on the Angus coast too.
After a long run of nights with very little sleep, I slept a full nine hours last night - which probably adds to my euphoria!
I don't know what I shall do with all this energy today - apart from read all your posts of course - but something will no doubt come to me.
Have a good day everyone and caring thoughts to all who are struggling, ill or in pain - and especially to georgesgran at this so sad time. ?☀️??

Marydoll Mon 01-Mar-21 09:14:26

Borrheid, I had forgotten about Miss McLachlan. However, I received a text out of the blue from an old classmate. She was part of our crowd, who used to walk to Paisley cross. I bumped into her BIL, who was out on his bike and he told her I was unwell. A blast from the past!

I already have basil and parsley on this week's shopping list. However, you have reminded me to put on mint, thanks! It's the more unusual herbs which have died. That's why I need to go to a garden centre.
I have loads of specialist seeds, which I bought online. I just can't find the energy to do anything with them.

I am waiting for someone to give us a quote to replace our decking, which really needs ripped out. However, it means the MY raised beds will have to be moved and they are full of onions and shallots. DH is not a happy bunny at the thought of moving them! ?

Please tell your DH from me, he is a wimp! wink.

Happy birthday to JaxJacky.! ??

Gingster Mon 01-Mar-21 09:22:09

Good morning all and where has that sunshine disappeared to. Beautiful weekend, so can’t moan!

Bridge zoom class this afternoon and I might finish my book club book. The Trick to Time’ by Kitt de waal Have you read it Urms . I’m enjoying it. An easy read thank goodness.
I watched a lovely film on More 4 yesterday ‘Amanda’. It’s French with subtitles but a nice story. The little girl starring is amazing.

‘I must arise now and go to ’Innesfree’ ( the shower room )

Have a pleasant day all ???’

GrannySomerset Mon 01-Mar-21 09:29:03

Lots of birthdays and celebrations this morning, and DS is another - due on St Patrick’s Day, he preferred St David instead, having commandeered my birthday and then deciding to wait another twelve hours. As I posted elsewhere, I was saddened yesterday that DH can no longer write his name on my birthday card, but the day was saved by an inspired gift from DGD2, who arranged delivery of six iced doughnuts with Happy Birthday on them. We shared them with our lovely neighbours and at 4.00 pm had a cup of tea and a doughnut together but in three separate houses.

Delighted by the news from the maternity ward, envy Marydoll her empty (and second the suggestion of Sarah Raven whose plants are expensive but excellent), and am thinking of Georgesgran. At least it’s officially meteorological spring!
