Meghan and Harry. Has anyone changed their opinion post Oprah?

As I've said---once an actress always an actress.

But they are a 'normal' family. Whatever normal is. Neither their status or function is normal in comparison to us but they are run of the mill and typical of most families in their ability to be human and screw up just like other people do - dodgy uncle Charlie who talks to plants and had an affair (s). Creepy Uncle Andrew who is a vile old letch and not to be trusted around the girls, Granpa Phil, for god' s sake don't let him drive and brace yourself because he's going to offend someone as soon as he opens his mouth. Long suffering Nanna Liz, stoic Aunty Anne, and who's the other one, the quiet one with the nice wife...oh yeah, drippy uncle Eddie. They are no more or less demonic than any other family they just have more money and more rules than the rest of us plus the media is on it like a bonnet every time one of them so much as breaks wind.

We agree, having to bow and curtsy to your family is definitely not normal. But apart from this rather strange behaviour, do we honestly know what happens behind their closed doors. I don’t imagine William and Catherine bow to Prince Charles for example. In fact I’ve seen them greeting one another on a news item, and the greeting was a kiss on the cheek. I have wondered if this bowing to the Queen by family members will die with the Queen. I think it only happens the first time a member of the family meets the Queen in a day, but I do think it’s odd when they’re in private. I understand (but don’t agree with) when it’s in public.

Oh I agree I dont think they are demonic. I think it's a soap opera which is fine, although not that great for the people inside it.

Could that be why Prince Charles asked Harry to put everything in writing? So there could be no later misunderstandings, no distortions of the truth? I assume H & M conveniently didn't agree to do this.

Indeed Galaxy, being born into it must make them look heavenward every day and ask what they did in a previous life to deserve this one. Which is why I cannot for the life of me grasp why any intelligent woman would have willingly walked into it, even for love, without realising fully what she was signing up for.

I think lots of people make mistakes in relationships, look at the mistakes you listed for the rest of the family. I have certainly chosen jobs in the past which werent suited to me, I didnt go into the job thinking it was wrong for me, but it was.

Galaxy did you leave the jobs / try to change what was wrong for you / go public and condemn the place of employment?

Yes, me too Galaxy but in the first instance I didn't go public with my complaints, in the second I learned how not to repeat my mistakes. Equally, neither of us had the benefit of years of news coverage, tell all biographies and a global reputation to go on before we made our errors.

But the repetition of mistakes is part of the rf soap opera. I am not sure how many outsiders this is now who have 'fallen'. She has only married into the rf once as far as I am aware so has only made that particular mistake once. Although having a crack at William would surely be the epitome of soap opera. Perhaps a bit Brookside near the end rather than Coronation Street when it was good.

Lucca although probably not the way the word was intended in this case, in some areas ‘You little toad’ is an affectionate term used to a precocious child.

I don't watch the soaps these days so can't make many current references I'm afraid.

I'll just say that she's not a woman who has done anything to garner my respect or support and I say that knowing she neither needs or wants either.

Unbearable woman and I have lost respect for Harry, how could he do that to his only brother.

Ellianne I hadn't even thought of that, about Charles wanting Harry to put things in writing. I didn't watch the program but with all the clips shown I've seen enough variations of accounts to think I'd want an absolute record. It's human nature to perceive things according to our own preconceptions, but when we report that as absolute fact to the detriment of others, then we cross a line. I don't trust Harry to be able to recognise the difference.
