I must I am, but it’s replaced from normal watch to a Apple iwatch, as I’m more out of the house than in, and I do love to know how many steps I’m doing

I wear mine all the time...well fitbit watch. It tells me when I need to get up and move!
It also tells me that I have clocked up 120 miles in local walks this year, which makes me feel better about the other inactivity!

I wear my Apple Watch every day, it's just so useful

NanaPlenty Wed 10-Mar-21 10:40:36

Haven’t worn my watch or makeup since lockdown started! Weird.

I didn't wear a watch until I too got an applewatch, it is so comfortable, it reminds me to do my exercises, and lets me know if I have sat down too long, and keeps reminding me to breath? No it's relaxing breathing! I love it!!

Hah! I'm missing my watch terribly! The battery died about one week into this latest lockdown, and the local lovely watch repairer in the village has retired. I managed to get the back off, discovered that watch batteries are very cheap on line, then bust the watch face replacing the back plate! I discovered that I own 3 other watches, only one of which has a back I could lever off, so am now waiting impatiently for watch battery type #2 so I can try again. And googling people who might have watch face replacement ability when shops reopen again.

Yes ...why wouldn’t you....wonderful to see how much time I have to do all my hobbies undisturbed. I’m afraid I’m one of those people who are loving lockdown.....no need to find excuses not to go out!!!

I only wear my watch if i am out for the evening, which is so rare.

I've worn a wristwatch every day since I was ten years old when I was given one for my birthday.
Even though I have my smartphone with me at all times I still
can't bear not to wear a watch. (not the same one I had when I was ten, although I do still have that one).

I don’t wear my watch in bed because I either shower or, usually, have a bath before slobbing around before bed.
However I get so annoyed if I forget to put it on in the morning and spend my time glancing at an empty arm.
Time is still important to me.
I never know where my phone is and when I find it it’s usually dead.

Why wouldn't one wear a watch? Life still goes on, even in lockdown. Zoom meetings, shopping, meals, medication.

I wear FitBit and it has a time section as well, so I guess I do

A watch is not the only thing that has become redundant in the past year. I’m thinking of high heels, bras, make up, etc.

No, but only because the metal strap had been getting a bit tight - when the shops are open I’ll take it to be adjusted. Once I’ve found the extra bits they took out donkeys’ years ago, that is.

My Fitbit died last year so I replaced it with a watch which is supposed to have an alarm on it but it never works. It does light up though as I look at the time several times during the night. I have several 'proper' watches but never wear them but never take this one off apart from in the shower or to charge it.

I still need a watch as back to school pick ups. I look at it less on the days that I have free, but don't think I will ever manage without one.
Interesting experience having to change arms due to a ganglion on my wrist. Habits are hard to break.

Never take my watch off except when I get in the shower I have always worn it in bed as I do pendants too

I have a love of Art Deco especially watches which I wear when dressed up for a night out. God knows when that will be next on the agenda on a daily basis now half the time I don't know what day it is.

I do wear my watch if I am going out, mind you that's the only time I wear a Bra as well

I wear my watch the whole time, even in bed! Always have. Just take it off for baths/ showers. Only worn make up once or twice in last year!

geekesse Tue 09-Mar-21 23:28:43

I wear a mechanical watch that does nothing more than tell the time and date. It’s beautiful and I love wearing it - I bought it with a legacy from my Dad who had a thing about watches, so every time I look at it, I think of him. I wouldn’t dream of taking it off.

mamaa Tue 09-Mar-21 23:17:44

Total snap urms with the addition of hardly wearing earrings as they catch on the bliddy masks! Put then in now and again to avoid holes closing up completely.
I can’t believe what I have become- before lockdown v1 I would never have left the house sans mascara, highlighter, blusher, lippy etc!
Now I just can’t see the point- so when I go out for my walks it is without any make-up or jewellery as I don’t see the point anymore.

I wear my watch except when it’s charging. It works as an alarm, a step counter and a phone (I don’t fancy paying with it) and lots of other things. A quick tap means Minnie Mouse will tell me the time.

I like to wear my watch as it’s too much hassle to check my phone. The phone stays at home quite regularly but my watch stays with me as it is more convenient.

Okdokey08 Tue 09-Mar-21 22:44:11

I feel liberated when I don’t have my watch or my phone, it’s a sort of freedom as I need my works phone all the time, and then my own iPhone, which the family used to moan about if I didn’t answer it on time. I didn’t always have pockets, and lost count if the times I nearly fell downstairs trying to get to it on time. Sooooo! hubby bought me an Apple Watch, and yes it helps, but I feel I’m at everyone’s beck and call at times.
When I retire I’m going to have 2 days of the week without phones or watches... just switch off from the world and take myself back to my childhood days
