Been blowing a gale all night with rain belting at the bedroom window so I've been up and down like a fiddlers elbow. Gales are pretty unsettling for most I think. Still on the windy side but doesn't appear as bad as it was.
However I won't be going anywhere.

Changed the bedding first thing and I'll be showering later after the crumpets have been devoured.

Glad your monitor's been fitted Mick, so now they can get an idea what's been going on with you and give you the appropriate medication. So long as you get sorted, that's the main thing.

Scentia , a relief that something can be controlled with medication, though adjustments will follow to find the right one but a small price to pay to get back to normal.

Thinking of others awaiting results or having procedures. There'll be a steady flow of GP appointments once the virus has died down as many will have been reluctant during this time.

I bet your DH had a better night's sleep at home Gagagran Nothing like your own bed indeed, even after a holiday let alone the hospital.

A piece of beef to cook today for tomorrow's dinner so I'll make a quick orange sponge cake and throw it in the oven at the same time. I think I've got some icing sugar for a drizzle on top of it.

Sheepandcattle,Lovely pic of Pinchy and his wobbly pins, aww, beautiful face though. What a busy life, it really is non-stop and so easy to ignore your own health which you have to watch or you couldn't go on. Rest when you can or when the body tells you to stop.

Couldn't wait any longer for the crumpets, so must now get myself sorted out with a shower and get dressed before the day's gone. Letters to post later when/if the wind dies down and that'll be my day.

So off to mums this morning as more paperwork to sort and to start collecting the masses of craft items. She was an avid card maker and has so much card and paper stock we could open a shop. We are going to donate a lot to her ggc nurseries.
Hopefully a child free day today, I love looking after them but they are exhausting.
Is the Turkish take away from the village kittylester my DD raved about it a couple of weeks ago.

Good morning everyone. It's a lovely morning, even if it is windy, in the Gower after last night orchestra playing a cacophony rather than a soothing symphony.

I've felt wiped out for the last couple of days after my neighbour's disturbances but it has been quiet, because she's hardly spent any time at home ?. Feeling a lot better now so I hope things remain quiet!
From today Wales is back to stay local rather than stay home rules so we will be able to take advantage of more of the Gower coastline ?. Not this weekend though as I expect every man, woman, child and dog will.
Sensible day for me today, which means borrowing a bit of Urmstongran's #lazy(without the gran) ?

Good morning Mick and all from a normal March day on the Angus coast. DD reports snow, sleet and hail where she is, 80 miles away, but none of that here - so far. My new fire bowl has arrived ready to keep us from freezing solid during her garden visit tomorrow with two DGDs.
Mick glad your trip to get the heart monitor went well yesterday. I hope you managed to sleep alright with it.

Enjoy your visit to Brodie Castle, Brook. We lived in that area for eight years in the 70s-80s and have such fond memories.

I'm off in a minute to make a big creamy pot of curried sweetcorn soup for tomorrow, and also curried rice salad to go with the sausages which we will sizzle over the fire bowl. Afterwards, once I've washed the extendable forks, we will use them to toast marshmallows. It is so lovely to have something to prepare for, and to have a purpose after so long just existing!

I hope your monitor isn’t too much of a nuisance Mick and all turns out well.
Out shopping yesterday but didn’t enjoy it, fumbling with mask, steaming up specs and avoiding people is rather miserable. However I bought some new jeans as my waist has thickened but got so hot and bothered (couldn’t try them on of course) that I went back to the car for a sit down and read an hilarious book by David Sedaris which made me laugh out loud before my next shopping round. I was also wearing far too many layers, so removed my big winter coat for an anorak.
When I came home with the food shopping etc I was so tired, unnaturally so I thought, so it was an early night for me.
Thinking of all with troubles of any description.

Good morning from a wet and windy Morecambe Bay. I’m feeling old this morning as DS1 is 47 today. How did that happen?
Good to see Dragonfly back. I wonder if our Gilly will return. I do hope she’s been ok through this last year. Is anyone actually in touch with her?
Yesterday we managed to spread 12 bags of soil conditioner so the garden looks pristine as all the remaining little weeds are now covered up and hopefully suffocated. I’m not sure what to do about my little patch in the churchyard. It’s under the tower, but there is some fallen masonry and it’s been half cordoned off for safety. If I garden the other half I fear the scaffolders will trample all of it when they come to do the repairs.
I’m not sure what today holds - more of the same no doubt!
On this day last year we were looking after DGD while her parents had a much needed holiday, and took her to the aquarium. We we just starting to be concerned about the virus and we’re worried that her parents wouldn’t be able to travel home and she would have to stay longer than we had planned. They got home days before lockdown. If we could have known how the next 12 months was going to unfold we would have really savoured those few days with her!

After a ferociously wild night the rain at least has stopped and if and when I summon up the energy to get going I need to change the beds. Or I could do it tomorrow. Have got DH up and more or less sorted out (still need to wield the razor) but because there is rugby this afternoon he was keen to get the day started. Hope England play better or there will be a big black cloud over the house.

Delighted the Wiltshire ladies have nearly finished keeping sheep up at night and hope she recovers soon, and that our various unwell or worried posters have a better day, particularly Marydoll and Mr Gagagran.

We had a lovely lady come and look at our garden and she has slotted us in for a regular weed and tidy up, relief at the thought that we will not have to struggle any more.
I have also been given the dates for when I begin my treatment. At the end of this month.....

I have an ISA maturing at the end if the month, so went on line and tried to put in the decision to close the account. Then, I got fronted with a screen message that said I would be liable for a penalty!!?? This morning I managed to speak to a nice young man, who told me I could only do this the day before maturity. Why doesn't it make it clearer on- line? Rant over.

We are going to see DD and SIL later on, they are our bubble, and see what they have been doing in their sitting room. At least they will now have more than camping chairs to sit on, and a lovely new fireplace.
Also spoke to both sons yesterday, lovely.
Off to sort myself out now

Good morning, Michael and all GNs. Mick glad your monitor fitting went well yesterday. DH wore one a couple of years ago for two weeks as part of a Biobank trial. Cool and grey again in South Yorkshire. More rain expected so another day in, which is bad news because I have put myself on a diet and when we can’t go out, all I want to do is eat! DH doesn’t help. He offers me all kinds of verbal moral support and then eats hot cross buns in front of me!
Pitt glad your move went well and I hope it’s a happy place for you!

Good morning, Mick and everyone from a Cumbrian coast that is brilliantly sunny, so far. It can be a bit tedious at times wearing that heart monitor for several days, Mick, but it will be worthwhile especially if the results set your mind at rest. Good to know what's going on rather than worrying about what might be.
I'm having to pace myself today due to ongoing unwellness. I'd really like to be outside mowing the lawn etc, I am definitely not an inside person even though I have plenty to occupy myself.
I've had some good news...a phone call yesterday giving me a completion date for my new home. It will be all mine by the end of the month..Having felt in limbo all winter, now I shall be in frantic mode rounding up movers, organising new blinds and furniture etc and dealing with all the bureaucracy involved. Not to mention paying out the largest sum of money I've ever had to pay out and praying it gets into the right account! The last time a house was bought, there were two of us and my late DH was a very efficient and capable organiser. I had to deter my DS1 from rushing up to help, he was quite prepared to pay a fine. He may be in his fifties but mother can still tell him off!

Good morning everyone from a very wet south Manchester where gusts of wind drive the rain every now and again, battering it against the windows. Too horrid for Himself and the boy wonder (9) to go on their Saturday morning bike ride. Such a shame. If it stops later they could go, depending how wet it is.

Himself will make a huge pan of his signature dish, chilli, (with red wine, mushrooms and garlic) later. Enough for Sunday lunch tomorrow with my stepfather and take some over to our little family - it’s Mother’s Day and our daughter suggested it so that neither she nor I have to cook tomorrow! Excellent prompt.

Ash, the school run problem is that the starts are staggered. DGD1 is in Y6 and Iris in Y3, so they have to wait nearly an hour to deliver or pick up the two girls.

Dragonfly, I'm absolutely delighted to see you posting again! It was only yesterday, I was thinking of you. ?

Nothing much to report today, except that the fairy doors are still not finished. I cannot find the glittery paint anywhere. ? The last time I used it was with Dollie.
I couldn't find time to look for it properly, as a Windows10 update has totally b**gered up DH's PC and I spent hours trying to fix it.
As usual, he decided to fix it himself and by the time I found out, he had made it ten times worse. ?
Asking him for his Microsoft password, he offered me at least half a dozen, none of which worked. I reset it, checked the new password on my PC, all working, so far so good. Then I tried it on DH's , blooming new password wouldn't work.
Sad geek that I am, I love to get my teeth into something like that, I was not prepared to admit defeat! ?

Eventually I phoned DS2, the guru, who works in IT.
DS: Mum I'm working!. Me: Son, your father is driving me crazy! Help!!!
It turns out that DS2 had changed the settings, when he rebuilt the PC, months ago and we needed to use the password he changed, before I could use the new one. ?
After all that palaver, the PC is still not working, so back to the drawing board today.
SIL is also an IT guru, but there is some good natured rivalry between SIL and DS2, to I'm reluctant to offend DS2 by asking him! ?

I'm expecting a visit from DD and SIL today, instead of tomorrow for Mother's Day. They are going to try and do a bit of work in the garden, as it has become too taxing for me at the moment.
I have solar lights on the trees which no longer work, so will ask them to replace them. Climbing trees ladders is no longer an option for me! ?

Harri, as CEV, I was also anxious about my recent hospital visits, but was most impressed with the measures in place. However, DH was not allowed inside with me, so had some long waits in the car.

Morning from a sunny at the moment S Lanarkshire, but according to the forecast this won’t last.
About to make an early trip to the supermarket for a couple of bits and pieces and some cash to pay for a some gift bags filled with lovely biscuits which are made in the town, and are being sold for charity. The biscuit company are very good to the local community and as quite a few shops have closed over the past year, we are going to need all the involvement and expertise of local businesses to help our high street recover and renew.
Lovely flowers arrived yesterday from two DDs, (no delivery slots left for today evidently). As I am firmly in the Flowers Vase Water Plonk camp, described by someone the other day, I always feel slightly guilty that I don’t do justice to their beauty, but I very much appreciate the love they express.

I know how you are feeling SeconhandRose, I’ve been on chemo for much of the past eighteen months and sometimes just the thought of moving is exhausting in itself, and as for having a shower....... Other times I feel almost normal.
I’m hoping for feeling well this weekend as I want to clean the bathroom and wash the kitchen floor properly as I found a sticky bit with my foot yesterday. I’ll have my little daily walk whatever the weather.

Good morning all and it’s still windy here in Essex. Yesterday I had a lovely walk over the downs with an old friend. As I got to her house the heavens opened, so we sat in her conservatory and had a coffee until the weather cleared. After our long walk we had a coffee and pastry from the cafe and sat on a bench, overlooking the estuary. So good to chat.

Bellasnanna try not to worry too much. I’m sure all will go well . It’s horrid to feel anxious . And Dragonfly I’m glad your worries have eased.

Will read the papers and do the puzzles today. Nothing else on the agenda though.
