Recommendations wanted for Walking shoes/trainers

Skechers are my favourite shoes for walking. They're so comfortable, light as air, but not sure whether they would give enough support.

Footwear for walking is quite an individual thing. I always wear Ecco lightweight goretex boots which I find very comfortable. I have arthritic hips and knees and walk a couple of miles most days. However it has been so muddy and slippery. lately that I would have appreciated a more rugged sole I think. Normally they are fine. I wouldn’t buy any without trying, most shops will let you return if unsuitable, after trying for a few days indoors.

My current favourite that take me everywhere with the dogs are Berghaus. Good for puddles too.

Aussie niece recommended Hoka and altho pricey I find them good. I used to swear by MBT's but no longer available save online.

I am waiting knee replacement and have found New Balance trainers excellent. Even persuaded my SIL who has dodgy everything to get a pair and he wears nothing else now. Good bargains on Sports Direct and similar sites

I have found Merrell to be the best for me. They have good support and are lightweight and flexible, which is important for me. They are quite expensive but I take child sizes which cost less. I have found some bargains on Amazon and EBay too.
