Good Morning Everyone,
Its bright but grey and dry in Brackley this morning.
Today , will spend most of the day in , but may go for a Chines Take Away later.
I have started to putt weight on again , regardless of exercise, but since returning from Hospital , some people I know who have seen me , said to me I looked better than what I was , when they had seen just a week after returning from the Hospital.
I think that is getting into my routine ,and normal eating pattern as helped plus new medication as well .
I only hope this lockdown allows travel soon , as I would like to go out and meet up with some I know.
Take Care,
Mick

Good morning from a little bit of an overcast look to the day on the east coast of Fife . I’ve not posted for some time now. I’ve been so busy replying to the multitude of morning messages from family and friends.

The weather these past few days has been brilliant and I’ve been practicing more walking each morning to strengthen my legs. I’m afraid the wee bottles of Prosecco are shifting real fast what with having afternoon garden meet ups sitting in the bright and warm sunshine with our new neighbour, great gossiping taking place and putting the world to rights. Must get some more of these bottles they are delicious wine

Thankfully we’re both of a similar mind where we’re both supporting our first minister during these awful times hoping the truth will out and allowing her to get us through this pandemic in a calm and organised mannersmile have a good day everyone look to the future it’s happening at last the sunshine sunshine is coming.

dragonfly very sad but so beautiful to spend precious time with your dear mum ?

Kalu Sat 20-Mar-21 08:16:49

Good morning all from Glasgow. We have had rain at some point overnight but grey clouds are clearing and hopefully another sunny day is ahead.

Finished off some power washing yesterday which I found quite satisfying as the colours of sandstone began to show.
A couple of coffee breaks in between is the norm now which takes longer to do such tasks but that’s just the way it is and doesn’t spoil the therapeutic value gained when I look at the finished result.

I am another one for lists so today I suppose I should have a look at my to do list re. housework. Oh joy!?

Have a good Saturday all.

Good morning Mick, I’m pleased to hear you’re recovering your strength. Morning all from a damp and much cooler South Lanarkshire.

Super cute kittens Jax and congratulations to your GDD Taichinan she has a wonderful gift. Glad your DH’s appetite is picking up Gaga, always a good sign.

How annoying Marydoll!

The mobile dog groomer will be here shortly, I’m tempted to ask him to give my mane a trim too.

DD had booked to treat us and her brother and his family, to a weekend away in self catering lodges at the beginning of the year to celebrate her 40th but of course that didn’t happen. Yesterday she rebooked for early May, it’s so good to have something to look forward to. Fingers crossed for dry weather as we will be socialising outside.

Wishing everyone a peaceful day.

Good morning from Nottinghamshire which, like most places it seems, is grey and overcast - apart from Malta!

We should have two very large tubs and two bamboo plants arrive today to provide some instant screening from the new houses being build at the end of our garden. We plan to sink the tubs into the garden to stop said bamboo from taking over the county. I think my role will be mainly supervisory.

I slept a lot again yesterday but feel loads better this morning - scrambled egg again for breakfast with orange juice, toast and marmite. I read somewhere, probably on GN!, that strength goes in through the mouth!

Dragonfly, I feel for you. No matter how old, she’s still your mum.

Have a peaceful day everyone.

Kalu Sat 20-Mar-21 08:24:20

Dragonfly ?

Extremely annoying when tradesmen don’t turn up on a fixed date Marydoll ?. Hoping plenty of rest will help you to pick up a bit today.

Elizabeth1 Sat 20-Mar-21 08:24:32

So sorry to hear your news dragonfly about your mum lots of love to you and all the family such a sadness so pleased you could be with her during these times such a privilege flowers

aggie Sat 20-Mar-21 08:27:46

Good Morning all , grey morning , it’s supposed to be 7 outside but it feels cooler
Planted summer bulbs , had to squeeze them in between the other stuff . Sadly we found the dreaded vine weevil , drenched the area even though I don’t like chemicals
Marydoll there are photographs of me on the beach at Troon in 1938/39 ! And parents playing in the sand with their hats on !

Good morning, Mick and All from a dull, grey Cumbrian coast. I've had a busy 3 days dealing with solicitors and my hospital appointment for a colonoscopy yesterday.
House purchase money has been successfully transferred my account to the solicitor. Not by me though, I chickened out and went into the bank branch where they meticulously checked and cross-referenced everything including me before sending off my mini fortune. Not long after my return the solicitor rang to tell me they had the cash. Completion is next week and then it will be all mine. Next was booking the removers-for after Easter. I only just got them for my desired date, they seem to be very busy. My removal date is cunningly designed to be just after the hairdressers open for business. I have had mine for over 40 years and wanted to see her for one last time. I haven't been 'done' since December and I am getting desperate.
The colonoscopy meant 24 hours of starvation and purging, that's all I'll describe! The actual procedure went better than I was fearing. Excellent staff. I had previously been told that a CT scan indicated IBD. Not having the classic symptoms, I was doubtful. Correctly. I don't. No signs of inflammation and bowels in reasonable state for one of my age. Back to square one and my GP. My weight is still gently melting away and no serious cause found, which is good but still worrying.
It's going to be a gentle day of pottering as I deserve it and a long phone to my sister, our weekly.
I hope it's all good as can be for you all today and love to Pinchy.

Grandmabatty Sat 20-Mar-21 08:30:47

Good morning all from Polmont. It's cloudy with patches of blue enough to make sailor's trousers. Currently 8°.
Firstly ? for Dragonfly. It's good to hear from Beauregard and Elizabeth as I've missed them both.
Today I could go to Aldi but I have enough in til tomorrow so I might leave it til then as I'm having a can't be bothered morning. We'll see. I made scones and peanut butter cookies yesterday so I have enough goodies. I was stupid yesterday. I had made a pizza on Thursday night and left some of it in the oven. Of course when I heated the oven yesterday for the scones, I completely forgot about it and only remembered when the smell of burning percolated through. So it was a freezer tea last night.
My aunt and uncle are coming over today to have a look at some wood. I had massive leylandii cut right back last year and the trunks have been lying in the garden next to the shed. Aunt and uncle have a wood burner so if they want the wood, they're welcome to it! Apart from that, Saturday is housework day. I need to give the inside of the fridge a clean too. Have a good day all.

amselerin Sat 20-Mar-21 08:33:45

Good morning all from cold Lueneburg. I am another one for lists. But mostly I forget or other things come up. My friend is very happy in hospital where she may stay till the end of March. She can walk again with a rollator . There is no more mentioning of an old age home. She is like a queen bee being served on and having lots of visitors every day- her children and me. We can visit for one hour at the time. Her daughter is arranging for a place for her to convalesce for a few weeks. At the moment she is being checked over. She loves it there.
I am going for a longish walk to the next village to buy some bread from the farm where vulnerable people live and work.
Keep well and take care.

Alygran Sat 20-Mar-21 08:34:33

Good morning from North Yorkshire. The sun is shining.
Ironing to do this morning then gardening. It rained yesterday afternoon so I didn’t get out to make a start on the weed patch.
Dragonfly flowers
Wishing everyone a gentle day. Stay safe.

Grandmajean Sat 20-Mar-21 08:35:10

Good morning from Cheshire. Mild and dry.
Rooting for Pinchy Sheepand cattle. What lovely kittens Jaxjacky. Will come back later to read everybody's news. Not much happening here today . Eldest GD (19) is moving out of the family home into a little ( very ) flat fairly locally. Normally would be helping out but not allowed. DD has promised to give me a Zoom tour once the move is complete.

Taichinan Sat 20-Mar-21 08:35:48

Good morning Mick and all. It's good to hear that you're looking better and therefore, I hope, feeling it. A bit of normality and meeting more people will finally put that spring back in your step - as it will for all of us! I was going to 'get up and get going' early this morning - until I pulled back the curtains and saw the thick mist on the Angus coast! It has the most depressing effect and when it comes in like that it tends to linger. Anyway I have come back to bed. Grrrr!
Sheep I'm so sorry I forgot to wish you a happy birthday yesterday, but glad you had a lovely day. Don't let your DS's forgetfulness get to you - it's hard keeping track of days and dates these days! I have one son like that. Two weeks before Mother's Day he apologised for having forgotten it. Not only that but he had berated his own two adult sons, who still live at home, for having forgotten it for their mum too! He did eventually get it right - but late of course, even after all that!
Thank you all for your kind words about DGD. She's been dancing all her life - contemporary and tap - and is so in love with it.
Welcome back Beauregard, lovely to have you back.
I remember those rackety Maltese buses from when we lived there in the 70s, Bella - a different colour for every route and they had right of way over all rules of the road! If you had a contretemp with a bus you were automatically in the wrong because "you should have known where it was going and got out of its way"!! Malta won't be the same without them.
Ash thank you so much for the uncontrollable mirth yesterday with the video of the gran reading "Wonky Donkey" to the baby. I've seen it before, but didn't laugh any the less this time round. My DD's family nickname was Wonky because when she started talking 'Awonka' was what she made of her name. So when that wonderful little book came out I couldn't resist popping it in among her presents for Christmas that year! Happy memories.
So glad your DH is beginning to feel a bit better Gagagran - that spell in the sunshine will work wonders.
Now, up and on I shall get as I notice the mist has lessened somewhat - who knows, we may see the sun here after all, so I had better be prepared!
Enjoy your walk over the Downs Ash and I wish the best to everyone for ????

Stilllearning Sat 20-Mar-21 08:37:18

Morning from a grey S Lanarkshire and I think it’s to stay that way. Never mind, yesterday was lovely and I enjoyed my first walk for weeks with my local girl who has completely recovered from what, in spite of a negative test, we think was Covid. She was really poorly with many strange symptoms and says she has never known exhaustion like it.
Happy belated birthday wishes Sheepandcattle and well done to your talented GD Taichinan, very good wishes for her future.
Thoughts are with you today in your vigil dragonfly?
I am also a to do list person, but someone on here a few weeks ago said that instead, they had a ‘Ta da!’ list when jobs are completed and I’m now incorporating that as well!
Wishing everyone a good Saturday.

Jaxjacky Sat 20-Mar-21 08:41:04

The trouble with being early is catching up later...lots of news. Gaga good news, sounds like your DH is slowly recovering, good to see Elizabeth back too. sheep I am renowned for my list, I have a notebook by my chair and a smaller one in my bag, not so much on them these days, Marydoll we’re expecting someone this morning to discuss some deep digging and shifting of topsoil, I’m not holding my breath.Another one with an oscopy Ekwa it must be rather disconcerting in a way not to have found something like polyps, hopefully your GP can make some suggestions.
Dragonfly what a sad time ?

Oopsadaisy1 Sat 20-Mar-21 08:42:38

Good morning everyone from a dull and grey Oxfordshire, it rained yesterday, so at the top of my list today is to sort the shed, transfer stuff from greenhouse back into the shed and then sort the soil out for some flower seed planting.
It was at the top of my list yesterday and the day before that............
Apart from that nothing much on, I had a late Mother’s Day gift from my nephew last night, 2 large containers of Resin and Hardener, so I can finish my craft project! This is mainly the reason I haven’t done the greenhouse, I’m indoors in the warm making Altered Tins.
Anyway, have a good day and hugs for those in need of them, I recognise that there are so many who have problems and to those I send virtual hugs and ?

Lins1066 Sat 20-Mar-21 08:44:41

Good morning Mick and all from a cloudy S Welsh coast. Welcome back Beauregard and Elizabeth. Good to see your husband asking for a particular dish Gagagran, always an encouraging sign.
A sad time dragonfly, thinking of you flowers
A fruit and veg delivery this morning, a walk with the puppy later, then we will settle down to watch the rugby. Lasagne and salad on the menu today.
Have a good day Cherry and hope Susan is feeling better.
Stay safe everyone.

Kalu Sat 20-Mar-21 08:47:24

Stilllearning. Although in a different county I am not too far from you. The sun is out and the clouds are clearing here. Hope it heads in your direction. ?

Anniebach Sat 20-Mar-21 08:48:16

Good morning Auntyflo and all x

Greyduster Sat 20-Mar-21 08:50:31

Good morning, Michael and all GNs. Saturday already! It’s cool and grey in South Yorkshire but at least it’s dry and the wind has stopped blowing. Nothing much going on today - I have a curry to make for tomorrow and hopefully I can also get some more seedlings potted on; DH will be watching the rugby this afternoon so he won’t want to be going for a walk - hooray! I started knitting a sweater yesterday and there are some peculiarities in the pattern, so I will ring my DiL and shout “Help” down the phone!
Sheep I only make lists at Christmas and the run up to holidays. I make shopping lists and lose them - usually in the shop. I did the other day when we were looking at a toaster on the way round Aldi. There was one in an open box so I took it out to look at it and must have dropped my shopping list in the box, where it remained underneath the toaster until I went back to look for it!
Dragonfly sending you a hug. A sad time for you.?
To all, have a good day and stay safe!

Taichinan Sat 20-Mar-21 08:56:52

So sorry about your Mum Dragonfly. Sending loving thoughts your way ??
Those little kittens are so sweet, Jax!

Good Morning everyone. Brilliantly blue in the South of France, though that might apply to me rather than the skies if it doesn’t warm up soon! We spotted snow on the tops of distant mountains yesterday - not a good sign.

Glad lots of Grans having good Spring weather and, yes, how the light lifts the spirits. The shoulders drop, the heads lift, the face relaxes and sometimes smiles escape quite naturally. We’re not unlike plants, I suppose.

dragonfly ??x

Workmen not turning up is almost as bad as workmen not finishing a job on schedule. Sorry your yard is a mess, Bella and your would-be Deckers failed to turn up as arranged, Mary. It does very little to make the day go smoothly. I always wonder why these people never manage to operate a ‘phone. Here in France we’ve reached the conclusion that most workmen genuinely believe people have nothing in their lives but to sit quietly and wait for the doorbell/phone to ring. And when we get a delivery, I can proudly say I could give Usain Bolt a run for his money as I head for the gate - in the one minute chance we have to prevent the guy driving away. This pandemic will make athletes of us all before long. Don’t worry about exercise - if your door bell isn’t actually attached to your front door, just order from the Big River company....you’ll be fit as a flea in no time ?‍♀️? ?

So happy Mr gaga is slowly improving. A little sunshine, a little more food...baby steps, he’ll get there. Easy weekend for you, Susan. You sound much more upbeat from the good weather, some company and lovely GD news, Taichinan.
Glad you had a good day, yesterday, sheep. DS loves you....you can easily forgive his bad memory! Maybe he doesn’t do ‘lists’- he is a man, after all. ?

I’m off to iron and paint a cabinet (two separate jobs!)

Everyone have a good day and if you feel like doing very little or an awful lot, just go with the flow. Sending you smiles and some very pink flamingoes (seen yesterday). Grab a random one and please accept a big French hug and best wishes from moi!

TOYA ???????????‍♀️

BlueSapphire Sat 20-Mar-21 09:02:52

Good morning from a grey but dry Northampton. Thought about doing some gardening this afternoon but then remembered that the rugby is on, same tomorrow as well. I suppose I could get out in the garden this morning.....

No other plans for today except the Saturday papers, the crosswords etc and my knitting. My finger was hovering and nearly ordering a bumper pack of patterns, but they only had the wool for them in one colour which I didn't like, so will not bother. My current project is growing slowly as it is very fine wool and small needles, and an intricate pattern.

Wishes to all for a day where we might find a bit of sunshine ?. Thinking of dragonfly flowers

Dragonfly, so sorry to hear this, it's tough, I've been there ?.
