Good Morning Everyone,
Its bright but grey and dry in Brackley this morning.
Today , will spend most of the day in , but may go for a Chines Take Away later.
I have started to putt weight on again , regardless of exercise, but since returning from Hospital , some people I know who have seen me , said to me I looked better than what I was , when they had seen just a week after returning from the Hospital.
I think that is getting into my routine ,and normal eating pattern as helped plus new medication as well .
I only hope this lockdown allows travel soon , as I would like to go out and meet up with some I know.
Take Care,
Mick

Good morning everyone from south Manchester where it’s dry which = Himself will be able to go on a bike ride with his boy wonder! We have just had a request by FT. Little miss 4y old and I will go to the swings at the other park next to our square for a change. Last week on the way home after much climbing and playing she tripped and banged her mouth on the pavement with having tired legs. I took a tearful girl with a fat top lip back home to mummy. Accidents happen but horrid when it’s on granny duty isn’t it?

Such a poignant post from you dragonfly. These are for you ?. I was in exactly the same place 3 years ago this month with my gorgeous mum who was 86y. She had pneumonia and just quietly slipped away from us. You are blessed to be with your dear mum in her final days dragonfly it is all any of us can hope for in the end, to be surrounded with loved ones after a long life well lived.

I hope Saturday is good to us all. Those kittens look FULL of mischief already Jaxjacky! I love their names - too cute. Remember the days when a large flat box of chocolates would have a pic like that on the lid, with a sarin bow on one corner and covered in cellophane? Now they were stylish! What happened to the luxury touches? Keep safe everyone that’s the main thing. x

A flying visit! DGC were awake at 11pm, 3 am and up for the day at 6. Not impressed!

Good morning from Morecambe Bay where it calm and grey.
Dragonfly ?
Yesterday my attempt to renew my driving licence set of a chain of events which went pear shaped. I think I must be learning from Marydoll.
I couldn’t apply on line because I don’t have a passport. So it’s go to a main PO. I got there and it was closed for staff training.
I decided to go to our local PO who could give me a form and take my photo. I came home filled in the form, enclosed my old licence and put it in the post. So far so good. Having got a new set of passport photos (is my hair really that grey?) I decided I could apply for my bus pass. Off to the computer to print off the form. It seemed like no ink but it’s not that long since I changed it. So I kept trying and 6 sheets later I had a reasonable form to fill in. Then I read what else you need to send. I had recently received my council tax bill so that was box A but box B wants a photo ID. I’ve no passport, hence the palava getting the driving licence renewed and I had just posted my old out of date photo driving licence off to DV LA.
At that point I gave up!
Nothing so dramatic planned for today.
Take care everyone and stay safe ???

Oh Gelisajam that palaver really did make me laugh! x

Good Morning everyone from the Scottish Borders where it is overcast but quiet at least. The building work next door stops at weekends so I can sit in the garden, if I want to.

Dragonfly your DM has made it to 100. That is something to celebrate. MiL was 96 last week and was brought to have champagne in my garden.

I am glad that Mr gaga is recovering well. Nice to see Beauregard and Elizabeth1
Goodness me EkwaNimitee what a time you have been having. Are you about to move house?

I must deal with paperwork today . I was very sad to see that our last remaining bank branch in the town centre is closing its doors in June No! internet or phone banking is not the same as seeing Debbie or Morven who were really comforting and helpful when DH died.

Have a good weekend all of you.

Good morning all,

A rather grey and chilly start to the day here in South Yorkshire.

? Dragonfly.

I've only skimmed the posts as I'm off for my first vaccination very shortly, so will read all the posts properly on my return.

Belated birthday wishes, sheepandcattle ?.

Take care everyone.

Gelisa “at that point I gave up”
At that point - or some time before - I would have been reduced to one-note humming......and my hair would have turned white! How can they make it so difficult? My best advice? Maybe stop mixing with Mary - you’ll only pick up some bad habits and won’t be able to give up?. Have a calmer day today.x.
Happy Vacc Day, mapleleaf

Good morning all from a slightly, cooler cloudy Algarve. Although like Grandmafrench our forecast is for higher temperatures again on Monday. We keep our thermometer in a bird box to protect it from direct sun but I’m never sure if the sudden high in the late afternoon is because of trapped heat or not. It’s pretty accurate most of the time.

It’s good to see Elizabeth1 and Beauregard postings again. I learn so much from GN not least a look into the racing world. Bellasnana do the lovely modern buses still have a St Christopher in them like the old ones did?

I think I can’t hide behind my cup of tea any longer and must go and do some chores before catching up with the rest of you. Have a good weekend everyone.

Good morning Mick, Annie and all.
Yesterday was beautiful and my two loads of washing dried beautifully and smell gorgeous. Actually, that sounds a bit sad, giving news of laundry. What have I come to?
Anyway, the kitchen ceiling was painted in the afternoon, and now looks so much better after it's leaky accident from the bathroom.
While it was being done, and to keep out of the way, I watched a programme about best houses, or something like that. DH pipes up from behind his book, " shall we change all our house?" Well, what's got into him? He has never in all the 59 years of marriage been interested in how we decorate. Just agrees with me for an easy life ?, and oh how I wish I had some flair.
Dragonfly, ? and hugs at this time for you and your mum.
Nice to see Elizabeth1 and Beauregard back and to know that they have been keeping up with the posts.
BlueSapphire, you seem to have a knack for finding nice patterns and wool, so hope you find some soon that you like. I am still looking for inspiration.
Good to hear that MrGagagran is slowly improving, and Bellasnana, your little pooch may soon find a suitable space in the yard, plasterers permitting.
Looking forward to hearing more about Pinchy's recovery SheepandCattle. He is a plucky little soul.
Well, I have a long list of things to get while shopping this morning, so had better go and get myself sorted out.
Have a good day one and all.

GrannyOwl5 Sat 20-Mar-21 10:26:37

Morning everyone from north Kent where it dry but cloudy.

A morning in the garden and greenhouse beckons with some more seeds to be sown. Amazing how much time I spend hovering over seed trays waiting for a little green stalk to unfurl. The miracles of Nature!

I too am a list person; can’t function without an accompanying list.

Dragonfly ?

Like BlueSapphire I shall be following the rugby this weekend; being half Welsh and half English will have two teams to cheer on.

Hope you all have a good day. Stay safe

Good morning all from cloudy Lancashire No plans for today, taking it slowly. Hope all are well.

Nannagarra Sat 20-Mar-21 11:20:48

Good morning from the Sefton coast where it is cloudy.
News of the continuing recovery of Mick and Mr Gagagran is a great start to today’s posts. You must be so proud of your DGD Taichinan.
Such sad news dragonfly.
I so enjoyed The Wonky Donkey yesterday that I texted DiL - they already have a copy. DGD keen on The Invisible String so we ordered it and had the parcel addressed to her. Hope she’s thrilled with it.
Looking forward to a meal deal from Marksies this evening. The first one for at least a year. #too lazy to wash up
Have the best day you can everyone ???

hollysteers Sat 20-Mar-21 11:39:41

Good morning Mick and all from a cloudy northwest Lancashire coast. Glad to hear you are feeling more yourself Mick and I agree, can’t wait for a change of scenery.
Spent the morning sorting photos from the 1970s plus in law’s photos left with me. Masses of them and nice to look back. Still so many left after sort out. Interesting to think if our children will have these memories in this internet age.
Watched the auction of Marilyn Monroes dresses etc last night, poignant, poor woman.
Now have trousers which fit and a new red cardigan from yesterday’s shopping trip.
Belated birthday greetings to sheep and thoughts to the troubled in any way.

EkwaNimitee Sat 20-Mar-21 14:07:01

Yes, Grammaretto, I am moving to the big city aka Carlisle mid-April. Can’t wait, I am in a let at the moment

Mapleleaf Sat 20-Mar-21 15:30:00

Hello again everyone,

I’ve now read through the posts.

The kittens look adorable, Jaxjacky.

Your friend seems to be improving with each new day, Amselerin, perhaps she is now feeling that she’s not quite ready to go into a home permanently just yet, though going for a couple of weeks respite/recuperation does sound like a good idea.

You must be very excited, EkwaNimitee to be moving into your own place very soon.

Glad to read that your DH is improving Gaga.

Thank you for your kind words, Grandmafrench, and I do hope you won’t have to wait too long to have your vaccine. I must say, I was very impressed with the organisation. It all went smoothly. My arm feels a bit sore and achey, and I feel a bit sleepy, but the latter is probably more to do with the fact that I kept waking up through the night - probably the excitement ??. Anyway, I might just allow my eyes to close for 40 winks now all my chores for today are done. It’s been a good drying day so the washing is almost dry enough to bring back in.

I loved that video of the gran reading “The Wonky Donkey” to her GC when it was posted last year - hilarious. DH bought me the book as a stocking filler that year!

Well enough waffling on from me.

Hope you are all having the best day possible ?.
