Good Morning Everyone,
Its bright but grey and dry in Brackley this morning.
Today , will spend most of the day in , but may go for a Chines Take Away later.
I have started to putt weight on again , regardless of exercise, but since returning from Hospital , some people I know who have seen me , said to me I looked better than what I was , when they had seen just a week after returning from the Hospital.
I think that is getting into my routine ,and normal eating pattern as helped plus new medication as well .
I only hope this lockdown allows travel soon , as I would like to go out and meet up with some I know.
Take Care,
Mick

Good morning, Mick* and the gang on another fine morning in Torbay. I’m pleased you are recovering your health and strength, Mick.

Posting early means I need to reread yesterday’s posts to comment as necessary. It's good to know that brave little Iris is free from from infection, grandmattie, and long may that continue. And another brave little soul is Pinchy, sheepandcattle, so we hope his fortitude will keep him going.

A beautiful sunrise, Marydoll and pretty blossom, artistically placed to continue the Japanese theme, aggie. And what a sunset you captured, Taichinan! That is excellent news about your DGD's success in being offered a place to train as a dancer. How exciting for her and I’m sure she will continue to give you reason to be proud! ????

No major plans for today but I hope to walk to the local shops then over the Downs to see how many cruise ships are still anchored in the bay; there were five last week. I think we shall miss them when they finally return to ploughing the seven seas.??? Wishing you all a happy weekend when I hope those with pain of any kind find relief. ?

Good Morning everyone from a dry Severnside. It’s warm enough to go without my bed jacket.

Many thanks for your valance advice yesterday. I think I’ll give going without it a go. I’ll take the one off the spare bed as well although that base has cat claw damage.

Some pottering on the cards today and I should start my list of jobs and ideas for the buildings and garden.

Good to know people are telling you that you look better Mick. I hope that gave you some cheer.
Take care all and hope that there aren’t too many worries over the weekend ?

Gagagran Sat 20-Mar-21 06:31:59

Morning Mick and all who follow. Feels cool this morning on the south coast at 0.8c on my weather station. Hope I don't need to defrost the car when I head out for my click and collect at 8am.

I enjoyed my little trip out to collect my repeat scrip and the library book I had ordered, yesterday. The cherry blossoms are out and looking glorious in the sunshine and they lifted my spirits, which have been a bit battered recently. Thank you for all the understanding messages of support. GN always comes up trumps!

DH has asked for pasta today - his appetite is gradually wakening up, so pasta will be on the menu. I persuaded him to sit in the garden in the sunshine yesterday, for an hour, and he looked better for it. He also got an appointment for a face to face with his surgeon on 12 May, so we are pleased about that.

DD has a book to pass on to me and will drop it in on her way to volunteer again at the vaccination clinic at the bottom of our road. She really enjoyed volunteering last weekend and is pleased to do it again today. Getting her jab unexpectedly was an added bonus!

Hope the day is a good one for us all. sunshine

cornergran Sat 20-Mar-21 06:39:11

Morning Mick, morning All. From what I can see and is forecast another cloudy day ahead for our corner of Somerset.

Good news your husband has more appetite and sat outside yesterday gagagran, a boost for you both. You’re right, these small ‘normal’ trips out make a huge difference.

Hope for the motivation for a little garden pottering this morning then must finish yesterday’s abandoned admin. I’ll need to keep a firm eye on Mr C who is struggling with neck and shoulder pain and will be tempted to do far too much.

Hope Saturday is kind to us all. Look after yourselves everyone.

Late good morning from yet another overcast day in E Kent. We did have a lovely day, lots of sunshine yesterday. It’s amazing how a little sunshine ☀️ At this time of year lifts the spirits.
Gave my “armful” of blood. It is extraordinary, the staff was the same but the venue for donation was different. Their behaviour was kind, friendly and totally different to the normal rather brusque manner they normally display. “My” phlebotomist told me that experienced nurses can tell the blood group from the subtle difference in colour! Amazing, isn’t it?
Must get some flowers to drop off at a friend’s, who came out of hospital yesterday, and a joint for tomorrow. Can’t have a roast on a Tuesday, can we?
Hope everyone, including Pinchy, has a good day. It is 12 months since lockdown 1, things must get better. ?☀️❤️?

Dwmxwg Sat 20-Mar-21 06:52:24

Good morning all from north Surrey.
We too had a beautiful sunny day yesterday although a cold wind kept the temperature down. Following the success with the children’s house DH decided to reroof the small shed which holds all the toys. He was so proud until I pointed out that he had overlapped the felt the wrong way and the rain would seep through! Top layer had to come off and be redone.
On the bright side he informed me he was £50 up on his Cheltenham bets so he was happy bunny.
I am off to work later so a gentle morning for me. Might even request breakfast in bed
Belated birthday wishes to Sheep, hope you had the day you planned, sounded perfect.
Wishing all a good Saturday

Beauregard Sat 20-Mar-21 07:05:07

Good morning from Derbyshire where it's cloudy at the moment with some sunshine promised later.

I've not posted for a while - I thought I'd take a few days off but it turned into several weeks. It was Marydoll's mention of me yesterday that has prompted me to post again - thank you for thinking of me Marydoll, it was lovely to read your kind words. Yes 'my' horse did have a nice win a couple of weeks ago, Mr MD remembered him well! I hope you are feeling better today flowers

Jaxjacky I'm afraid I wouldn't have been much help to you with my tips for Cheltenham this week - they were mostly wonky donkeys! Although I did get a lucky 16 to 1 winner yesterday, so made a small profit to end the week on.

I have been following the thread over the past few weeks and am rooting for little Pinchy. Fingers crossed those splints do the trick and all works out well. Its lovely you're giving her a chance Sheepandcattle many wouldn't have. I hope you enjoyed your birthday yesterday.

Today is a year since we were at Uttoxeter races for my retirement celebration. We were in a private box overlooking the winning post (my retirement gift from my employer) and 8 of us enjoyed lovely food and champagne and a fabulous day out. It was the last day when crowds were allowed at events like this and everything was shut down the next day. Now a year on we are still in the same predicament. How lucky we were - a day later and I would have still been dreaming of what that day might have been like!

I hope today is a good day for everyone.

Sheepandcattle Sat 20-Mar-21 07:10:10

Good morning Mick and all from a grey but dry Wiltshire. Thank you all so much for your very kind birthday wishes ☺️ I had a nice day yesterday with some lovely surprise presents AND I managed an afternoon gardening! The only slight hick-up was that my lovely eldest son seems to have forgotten it was my birthday! He remembered last week that it was coming up as he said he’d bring my present when him and his family come down for an ‘outside day visit’ at Easter when the new rules kick in, but he rang last night and we had a good chat and he didn’t wish me a happy birthday! I didn’t mention it and I think he’ll be mortified when he realises that it was yesterday! I’m not one to get upset about birthdays being forgotten and I know that him and my lovely DiL have loads going on in their life’s at the moment - it was just a little awkward when he was asking what I’d been up to as I didn’t want to mention my birthday and then have him feel bad! I’m so blessed with my lovely sons and their wives and children that every day is my birthday really !?
Today is going to be a ‘lists day’ . I love having lists of jobs to do but over the lambing period there’s no point making lists as I just have to go with the flow and deal with jobs as they occur. Now I have the urge to start a nice, big list of jobs to do over the next week or so, so I can go back to ticking jobs off - is anyone else a ‘list person’? Top of the list will be to change and re-splint Pinchy’s splints. A full report for his support-club will be given in tomorrow’s post!
I’m sure time in the garden will have benefitted you DH Gagagran and I hope he continues to improve. And wonderful news about your clever, dancing DGD Taichinan - it must be wonderful to have special talent.
Wishing you all a happy weekend and look forward to reading all your news later on.

Good morning all grey Harrogate. Busy day ahead. Our cooker ceased to operate yesterday, so when we took the car out yesterday, popped into Markies food hall and bought some microwave meals. Today putting the slow cooker in for tonight. Afterwards will get the washing machine going! Sometime today pink paint is arriving so will have to Put a coat of it on the Barbie Wardrobe I have been making!!
Belated birthday greetings Sheep with beautiful Pinchy. Glad DH is making progress Gaga
Mick it’s good you are getting back to ‘normal’
Hope to get back to GN to read the latest!
Have the best day possible folks

Morning Mick and all

The blue sky is winning the battle with the clouds so far.

Good to see you back beauregard Hope you are settling into your new home pittcity

I have absolutely nothing planned for today, so it’s a lazy Saturday.

Keep safe and well folks ?‍♀️

Sar53 Sat 20-Mar-21 07:19:59

Good morning from an overcast Essex by the sea.
I picked up my new glasses yesterday and we both had blood tests and we had a takeaway coffee, first time for months.
I had a long chat with an old friend in the afternoon, it was good to catch up.
Nothing planned today, I'm pretty sure there is rugby on later so DH will be happy.
Have a pleasant Saturday everyone and find a ? xx

Good morning everyone. It is a bright start here in Malta, fingers crossed it stays that way so the builders can get on with plastering my yard. It’s such a mess out there at the moment, the poor dog can’t find a place to do his business.

grandmajet I’m glad you have happy memories of Malta. Those old buses are long gone, sadly. They had such character and now we just have boring modern ones.

Sorry I missed your birthday Sheep, hope it was a happy one and also hope Pinchy is doing well. She has captured my heart.

Glad to hear Mr Gaga is making good progress. Welcome back Beauregard. Great news about your DGD Taichinan, no wonder you are proud of her. ?

Wishing you all a good day, take care ☀️

Jaxjacky Sat 20-Mar-21 07:23:46

Good morning all from a chilly, overcast S Hants, pleased your not just feeling improved Mick but looking so too.
Dwmxwg and Beauregard I enjoyed my afternoons of Cheltenham, just me with my 25 or at a push 50p e/w, I’d allowed £20 for the week and ended on £36.60. I’d have spent a lot more if we’d actually gone! DH started greenhouse assembly yesterday, it’s unfamiliar territory for him and although he’s a bit miffed, I’ve called in a recommended expert. Said expert can’t come for a couple of weeks, but that’s fine. I was at M&S for 8am yesterday to return my over shirt, way too big and none the size down in store, came home and baggsied the last one on line, quite how the hot x buns fell into my mitts I don’t know! Allotment later for me; DH had his AZ jab yesterday and is still asleep. DD picked up kitties yesterday, she’d told the DG’s it was today, so a lovely surprise when they came in from school. Cosmo and Oslo, I’ll pop back later to catch up with others.

Good morning from cloudy Leicestershire.

Not much happening here as I am spending everyday beside my dear mum’s bed. She is 100 and everything is failing.

Ashcombe Sat 20-Mar-21 07:34:51

?and ? for dragonfly. ?

Good morning from a grey skied Colchester.
Thanks for asking GG and yes we're slowly getting used to it and getting it shipshape. DS is home today so hopefully he will help unload more boxes.
I have lots of bits and bobs being delivered today. Can't wait to get to a real shop!
Fingers crossed it's a dry weekend so DH can sort his garage.

Much love to all xx

Good morning everyone from Inverness where it’s another bright dry sunny start to the day. The weather has really been great this week, we’ve been so lucky and it really lifts the spirits. Pleased you’re feeling and looking better mick
It’s good that your DH was able to sit outside yesterday gaga and his appetite is returning, I hope he continues to improve a little bit day by day
Today we’re going to DD2 for a garden visit, it’s DH birthday tomorrow so we’re taking a few nibbles and a birthday cake to share later.
Oh dear it’s a shame your DS forgot to wish you a Happy Birthday sheep he’ll remember soon!
Sad times dragonfly ?
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings ?

Marydoll Sat 20-Mar-21 07:52:31

Good morning all from a cloudy Glasgow, where it is 7°C.

Beauregard, lovely to see you posting again. My husband also had that 16/1 winner, but the rest were also wonky donkeys!
I would never really know of any success, as that is on a need to know basis only and my DH says that I don't need to know.
In the old days, when our children were young, we only had one car and Saturday morning was my time, I would take off and leave DH with the children. At that time, we had just moved to Troon and one condition of having the car was that I had to put on a line in the bookies for DH. I used to lurk outside in case any of my posh neighbours saw me! ? ? Thank goodness for Paddy Power, I will never know how much is been hidden away in secret bank accounts in the Cayman Islands! ?

Yesterday was a non day, apart from feeding DD copious cups of tea, while she worked. I had no energy to do anything. The decking people failed to turn up, which was a waste of the morning. Why are people so unreliable, after I had fulfilled their request for photos and measurements? ?

Sending hugs to all and wishing you a pleasant Saturday, I will be having a gentle day!

Marydoll Sat 20-Mar-21 07:54:06

For dragonfly, sad times indeed. ??

ginny Sat 20-Mar-21 08:11:07

Good Morning. Looking dull outside so hope it improves.

Not sure what’s happening today. DD1 might be coming for a walk and DD3 may be doing a drive by with DGS.
Otherwise our usual local shop and a walk.
DH has finished power hosing the paths and patio in the back garden and they look much better. So maybe we’ll start on the front.
Kind thoughts to all and hope you find a ?today.

Gingster Sat 20-Mar-21 08:11:56

Good morning all and it’s looking ok ish here in Essex.

Yesterday was beautiful but a nip in the air. Got the washing dry though . Just needed a little airing in the very warm conservatory. I played online bridge out there and was quite sleepy at the end and had a 10 minute power nap! ?
We have a very small garden here which is almost maintenance free but a very large garden at our cottage by the sea. It’s so frustrating that we can’t get up there to get it sorted after the winter. We would be out there most of the day. I think that’s some of the problem with DH who has lost his ooph. Not enough for him to do here.
Hopefully we’ll be travelling up there on 12th April when we are allowed to travel out of our immediate area. ?.
Ds1 will be arriving soon to go for a 20 minute brisk walk with Dh. Get his legs moving!
Wishing you all a pleasant day ?

cornergran Sat 20-Mar-21 08:12:01
