Good afternoon everyone, late in checking everyone out today, but been very busy. Its a lovely day here in the NE, hopefully it will stay that way. Had very eventful day yesterday, yougest dgs who is coming up 4, fell and broke his femu. Poor little thing was in a lot of pain and had to wait nearly an hour for an ambulance. They weren't sure if he was going in traction, or having an op to repair, but they are going to do traction, so a busy few weeks for eldest dd, he seems to be coping so far and should be home in a few days, so will have to help out where I can. Hope everyone keeps well and safe.

Good morning from a brightish north of Scotland.
Lots of white washing on the line and vacuuming done, so I have been drinking my morning tea and catching up on all your busyness.
I’m also watching for a big delivery of growbags and compost for the garden. No idea when it might arrive which means I don’t completely relax.
Neither of my AC will manage to visit at Easter which is disappointing but it is the same for all of us. I shall send a parcel of goodies ie items that cannot be bought in the south of England. All food of course.

Good morning Mick and all from a cloudy northwest coast, Lancashire but it often brightens up during the day, to the extent I can be too hot in my sheltered corner hotspot.
You sound pretty organised Mick, so hope you enjoy your day.
I’m off to the post office to send a pile of family photos to my brother in law now in a nursing home. As most of them predate my joining the family, he should enjoy going through them.
I even made more of an effort dress wise today as fed up with “loungewear”. So white polo neck, blue denim jacket under a red sailing type anorak and red leather trainers.
Breakfast this morning of prunes, kiwi and yoghurt. Last night pasta salad as trying to lose weight. Ugh.
Will return and read all entries later, in the meantime, thoughts to the troubled.

Good morning from Durham. Brilliant blue skies here. DDs have been keeping my spirits up but today’s the start of a big clear out of DH’s things. I feel disloyal shredding things he thought important enough to keep, but mean nothing to me?
I expect these things will get worse, before they get better?

Going to see frogspawn with DD1 and DGS later. He’s the light of my life now.

Good morning all. Grey skies in Lancashire today but it’s brightening up a little. The ‘sparrow mansion’ outside our window seems quiet at the moment, but there are babies cheeping away in their nest behind the fascia.
Last year we had bluetits in one half of the mansion and sparrows in the other.

It’s trying to brighten up at the moment here in South Yorkshire but is still quite chilly.

I’m feeling much more like my old self today - yesterday was a bit of a none day as I felt so wiped out after the vaccination and couldn’t find any energy to do anything, but it’s passed now, thank goodness.

Ashcombe I do hope you will see your daughter very soon as planned, it will give you a much needed boost. It must st be very difficult for you not being able to nip over to France to see your DH as would normally be the case, but fingers crossed that things will settle sooner rather than later, and you can be together ?.

We were meant to be going to a rescheduled wedding in Germany early May, but sadly that’s not going to happen either. This wretched virus has caused so much disruption for so many the world over.

Well, as I’m feeling brighter, the ironing is looking at me saying “please get me done”, so I’d better get a wiggle on and do it ?.

I wrote about The Invisible String Marydoll as it particularly appeals to my four year old DGD. Aww, how lovely that Dollie is Jewel of the School. I’m hoping her grandma will heed Urm’s advice and not overdo it...but I can understand the desire to be busy, especially when you have an empty. I’d be the same.
In Booths I found some unusual bread flours which I may try out today; that’s far more to my liking than the ironing which beckons. Mention of summer flowering bulbs has also stirred my interest so I intend to read up about and order some. Basically I’m happiest researching family history so I’d suit the poster above - I can’t scroll up to find your name, sorry, as I’d lose the post.
As I found my monocular rather heavy, DH did some research. He has ordered something which can clip onto our phones to do the job. If it’s any good I’ll give it a ‘mench’ here.

Good Morning all, the sun is out ☺️ , and we had a quick burst yesterday so my new solar lights were a success last night !
I am easily pleased ?
I haven’t been to the supermarket, or anywhere else for months ! My DD does my shopping and I am expert on the net . Does anyone else smuggle parcels past their children ?
I have enough yarn to crochet for years but I’m a sucker for deals ,
I sent for clips to hold my flowing locks out of my eyes , a pack of black , gold and silver arrived , ten of each ! Dear knows what I’ll do with them , my hair is so thin now they slide off ! DD took a fit of the giggles and SIL had to leave the room !
Oh well , live and learn , but I seem to be a slow learner !

More feeding of fish, and tai chi on the front lawn or by the pond, depending on wind strength and direction. And that's it. I shall spread out the excitement to fill the day ?

I don't usually notice it, but yesterday on fb I was admiring DD's new partner's new moustache. His mother popped in to say don't encourage him! My reply was that he had a long way to go to pass my to grandsons when it came to hairy faces. After I'd posted, I realised how dreadfully old that made me sound!!

As the news has come in about a "third wave" and further lockdowns in France, Ash, my heart sank for you. A visit to your DD will be lovely, but not quite 'what the doctor ordered'.
I know what you mean 'beechnut' - that feeling of loneliness can sometimes be overpowering. It does pass, though, doesn't it. And really the only way round is through, as they say. ??? for you.

A heavy sky this morning and not a thing stirring it's so calm and quiet. My little bird had a quick warble and flew off, not the operetta he usually performs, even he couldn't have felt up to it this morning either.

Although I'm more than glad to be alive, it's not quite the alive that I'd envisioned for this year so feel a bit deflated as everyone else does.
Seeing GGC through the kitchen window isn't the ideal situation when you haven't seen them for months.

Anyway, I'll phone D2 to see how her weekend went, then go on Channel 9 news, Oz ,to see what the floods are doing near D1 and whether GD has had to evacuate from where she is.
Fires last year, now floods, with pestilence ( Covid ) in between.

Hard work ahead for Sheepandcattle with the bigger ladies of the field, which takes me back to my schooldays when I was looking out of the window into a nearby field watching a calf being born in the distance and wondering if the calf was alright. I hadn't a clue what the lesson was about !

Cousin worked on a farm in Haworth and gained a degree in animal husbandry----then went on to join rock bands

I will follow your example today Marydoll. Listen to my favourite uplifting music and in my case, footering about looking for something interesting to do.

Talking of hair NanKate, my usually tidy shoulder length hair is a sight to behold as I have been hacking at it myself. A messy bun is my default style which takes away the shock of seeing the worzel gummage look first thing in the morning.

Pleased to hear the window cleaning was a success Gingster. ?. Nothing worse when spending so much time and energy on a task that leaves you feeling frustrated with the results. It’s probably time I should make a start on cleaning my own windows! ?

Hoping those on a bit of a downer today find something to lift your mood. Keep looking.

Good Morning, Mick and Everyone from a rather dull Cumbrian coast. It was such a lovely day yesterday too. I'm going to get stuck in to the housework and laundry today as it's Monday.
Marydoll your spirit puts cautious me to shame! But it's frustrating having to pace yourself when you are a person who likes to be up and doing.
Ashcombe your comment yesterday about my username--it's not my natural state of mind but just one I aspire to, being one of life's worriers. I'm improving though. It must be hard for you at the moment listening to all this comment about extending travel restrictions. It's bad enough not seeing children and grandchildren but a husband? That's very hard.
Sheepandcattle, I've often thought it must be difficult for a farmer who cares for their animals when they have to be sold off. Their future welfare is out of your hands. I speak as one who is passionately opposed to live transport of animals across Europe, when they are in the hands of possibly uncaring drivers who disregard the regulations as to watering etc.
But I'll stop ranting and wish you all the best day possible.

Good morning from a dry cool grey Morecambe Bay. We have had a few fine days recently so the saturated ground has dried out a bit. That means I need to start the gardening season. I’ve only got 4 gardens to look after now and won’t be taking on more. Today it’s grass cutting for a lady and then the patch in the church garden we look after. Half of it is cordoned off as it’s under the tower and the tower has an area of loose masonry so it could be a bit awkward, but we will do what we can.

Good morning, Michael and all GNs. It’s still, cool and grey in South Yorkshire. I went to bed tired out last night - and was still awake at quarter past three! I shall have to find some matchsticks for I will surely need them to keep my eyes open later.
Sheepandcattle perhaps I need a big picture of your ewes on my bedroom wall so that I can count them. Your lockdown cows sound as raring to go as the rest of us! I would like to pull up the invisible fence that keeps us from dashing off into the Peak District! I cleaned the layers of local mud off my boots yesterday and I too am now ready for pastures new!
A fasting day for me today. This weight WILL come off!
