So sad about Prince Philip at least my Mum reached the magic hundred.
There have been many deaths in my life this spring I am hoping for an upturn.

Had my second Astra Zeneca jab this morning and so far so good.

My thoughts are with the Panaches.

Sorry not to have positive news from the Consultant. She says that it is a difficult prolapse to fix, especially at my age. We now need to travel 130 miles return journey to Paisley hospital. There is no specialist physiotherapist available closer to home.
She has also said that I may now be getting closer to double incontinence.

I was hoping to be more upbeat. However, it is what it is. We shall carry on regardless.

I have just this minute seen the news of the death of the Duke of Edinburgh. The Queen and the family will be grieving right now. I feel sad for them all.

I haven't read the latest messages. Forgive me please. By tomorrow afternoon we should have completed the decorating. I shall enjoy returning to join you lot and participating more fully.

And I am saddened by the loss of Prince Philip. How very sad for the Queen who has already had so much to bear lately. The winds of change creep closer and I don't find that comforting .

Good afternoon dear kitcheners - I have had a quiet day after yesterday being on nanna duty (Ruby-ing as Mr BA affectionately calls our childcare duties!!). I've had the meal choices for the wedding to ring in to the venue - it is starting to seem like it will happen . Puzzler you always bring such lovely flowers to the kitchen . And soop I do hope today has gone well for you. Hoping that little Fern reappears today too. Mr BA has been out helping friends with some DIY bits today, so a thai takeaway meal courtesy of sainsbury's tonight and I'm not sure if I like thai food.....!!

Annodomini I have bluebells in my garden. I've only been in the house for two years. They popped up last year and I thought they were weeds so kept hoiking them out. But to no avail as they've popped up again this year. Would these be the Spanish kind? I always understood bluebells to be woodland plants.

Bluebelles in gardens usually are the Spanish kind, Hyacinthoides hispanica . The easiest way to tell them from native bluebells, Hyacinthoides non-scripta (used to be called Endymion non-scriptus), is that the heads of native bluebells flop over and droop in a very characteristic way whereas spanish ones are upright. Soopto I'm very sad that you didn't get better news. You have taken it with your customary grace and dignity though and you are such a role model.
Annodomini apparently I have to dig them out as weedkiller doesn't work. That'll explain their reappearance. I have crocosmia which keeps reappearing too.
On a happier note, my dear son in law has a job and begins next week! He's being tested for a bacterial infection as he's still not great. I'm hoping that the job and possibly antibiotics will sort his problems out. They want to take me to Spain next year which is very kind of them. We'll see how things are nearer the time. Had to pop in to pass on my dis appointment to soop and all on here who are plodding along with ill health and discomfort.
Winds of change for our age group as you say N&G
Last week one of my neighbours who has also been a friend for many years put their house on the market and today my closest friend who in normal times takes me out every Thursday rang to say they are also moving.
They have seen a lovely apartment and are in the very fortunate position to be able to buy outright without selling their own house first.
The apartment is available almost immediately as the owner has gone into care so they can be in in a couple of months or even sooner if the solicitors work quickly.
It has left me very unsettled and wishing I had moved two years ago.
My teasmaid has called it a day after at least 35 years, such a first world problem I know, I won’t replace it.
One bit of good news I have my second vax tomorrow morning and another, my D and GC who I haven’t seen for 15 months are planning on coming to stay on May 30th.
All being well as my mother finished every announcement with.
I send my very best wishes to you all, I read every day and will keep popping in to keep up.

annesixty good to see you, but sad you’re unsettled, change does that to us all. But good news for May, a bright spot on the horizon.
I had my friend for his second garden visit earlier, he lives on his own in a flat, due to a recent hernia op he can’t do anything on his allotment, near to mine, very frustrating. Nothing needs urgently done or we’d do it, I think he just likes to get up there and potter, but it was good to natter. I think, hope, we have rain due overnight/tomorrow, it’s needed. An evening of golf I think until gogglebox at 9. Have a pleasant evening all.

Oh soop, that's so sad. Yet another buggeration on the winding road of life. Of course you'll deal with it all, you always do, but I think we'd all hoped that there would be some treatment which would give you some relief. Whatever's on offer, though, if it might help - as Puzzler says, do take it. You never know.

Tell you what, I'm getting really fed up with this thread - well, not the thread nor the lovely peeps on it - but the rotten server if that's what's causing the problem. Ages to get on the thread, ages to bring up a page, not able to post with any speed, losing posts for no reason. Takes away all the pleasure, I'm afraid. So, tonight I shall (try to) make it short and snappy. (Oooooh, hurrah, say all the Kitcheners!)

I think lots asked about my lovely VomitDog. Yes Chloe is well, thank you. I was not overly concerned, anno since, from time to time, she does eat something obscene and then pays for it. Actually, I pay for it in time, cleaning, efforts, worry, medical bills etc. This time, I know that I found the remains of a very elderly dog poo bag in my hedge whilst I was clearing leaves. I put it out of the way until I reached the dustbin. My furry dustbin obviously found it before I could bin it! Hunting dogs are quite disgusting like that. Hours later her tum was rumbling fit to burst and we had the terrible results of her naughtiness to cope with. The other little dog, Ludo, was declared lots better today. I shall tell you the details another time. Suffice to say he's given us lots of worries since he had a special vaccination 3 years ago which I swear has caused his health problems.

Sorry you are feeling ruff GG. The Vet told us today his Mum reported she was fighting fit (her words) for 2 days, then she complained of a temperature, headache, a rash, a lump in her lymph nodes and enormous boobs. I know. The joys of vaccinations. She's o.k. now. Another friend today said that in the UK his brother had his 1st vaccination and thought he would die. 3 days of stabbing chest pains, a rash and having to change his bed linen time after time because his fever made him wringing wet. Please rest so you get well again soon. You take it easy, too, dragonfly.

I've perfectly timed the expected rain this evening. DH cut the lawn and I weeded & feeded this afternoon, turned on the sprinklers and down came the rain. Looks like we may have a wet weekend, we shall see, but the garden will make good use of the water.
