I just had to go to the hospital for a dexa scan.

I’m distressed by the fact I can’t get Tiliap boil in the bag couscous in England!
I’m not due to visit France in the next years. How will I manage?
HELP!!!

muse Wed 14-Apr-21 20:28:56

Doodle. I hope so. He said he would ring last weekend but didn't. When he's had problems before, he's left it many months before contacting me.

brook2704. It's Bedruthan Steps on North Coast. National Trust car park there. Tide was just coming when I left which then covers the whole beach. It looks just as dramatic then with waves crashing on the rocks. Never seen it look so calm.

Doesn’t sound like a sparrowhawk GrandmaBatty as they are quite small really. Beautiful birds though I don’t like the way they persecute the little birds - “Nature red in tooth and claw”.

This afternoon I went for a short walk with DD who is trying to get me fit so am fit for nothing now! It was good to get out for a change and it was really warm so was glad to get home for a cup of tea, the temperatures are definitely improving. Looking forward to getting out and about when we are properly able to do so.

Puzzler61 Wed 14-Apr-21 20:32:13

That’s a relief Galen. Sorry, can’t help with your cous cous problem!

Jaxjacky Wed 14-Apr-21 20:45:24

Does this help Galen?

brook2704 Wed 14-Apr-21 21:49:05

Thanks so much muse i can remember it now, in 2019 we were walking the Coastal Path and walked past there and of course stopped at the tea room at the top. We sat outside with a delicious cream tea .. happy memories and we hope to be back soon ?

Late good evening, lovely Kitcheners.

Got very annoyed this afternoon - came in from the garden to send a post. Wouldn't send. Then after lots and lots of waiting, DH was summoned to advise that internet wasn't working, 'phones weren't working, all dead. Wonderful ?. SFR ( the French and even more nonsensical equivalent of Bluddy Terriblecom) actually had a recorded message when you phoned to complain - that showed how many people had phoned to complain. It finally staggered back into action about an hour ago.

So, having preserved a copy of my post in photographs (how quaint) I shall bore you all with what I said today tomorrow, if that makes any sense. If it doesn't then I apologise in advance and you can put the nonsense down to a certain weariness at this hour.

I was going to offer to send you Couscous from France, Galen as you finally came clean and were a good girl in telling us that you weren't carted off to hospital for an emergency. Seems that Jax has beaten me to it. Any problems, do say and I shall be very happy to send you whatever you need to wherever you need it. Have to warn you about the appalling postal service (sometimes) and surprise extra charges sometimes to pay for all sorts of made-up duties or carriage or whatever, since Brexit. But glad to help if you need it. A girl should not have to do without her boil-in-the bag anything!

Some lovely photographs again. Lovely adventures some of you are having. You will be restored to full beauty , very soon, kitty - and you'll probably get to go to the Ball too. Don't give up hope.

Just keep chipping away, muse. He will speak to you - he possibly doesn't feel like more conversation revealing just how fed up he is - even though his dear Mum is likely to be just the tonic he needs. Of course he makes you worry, but often when people are really troubled, they never think about the effect on those who love them! You did the best thing today : going out walking somewhere beautiful can be such a cure for the glooms or nagging worries. Hope you haven't aggravated your hips on that climb.

Everyone seems very busy getting beautified as well as jabbed. Don't fret, kitty you will be returned to full beauty very soon now - maybe even get to go to the Ball ? ?

My message to you syn will follow tomorrow. (Oooh, bet you can't wait - such excitement, not!)

If that's Mr Brook, brook, he looks well pleased at the prospect of a traditional tea after all that striding out. Wonderful photos, bet you loved your holiday and have happy memories of that area.

Back tomorrow when I have found my aide memoire (which is by my bed where DH is now sound asleep and I haven't sorted out the animals yet and put everyone else to bed), so I shall wish you, one and all, sweet dreams and a decent night's sleep.

Until tomorrow, French hugs and thanks puzzler, yes I've had a lovely day. x

soop Thu 15-Apr-21 10:56:32

Wonderful photographs. A pleasure to share your happy memories.

Fern returned last night. Slept well. Ate almost (not quite) three bowls of fresh chicken laced with pouches of haute whatever feline fare. Had a stretch. Washed behind her ears. Lapped up fresh water. Wandered off to wherever it is that pleases her.

We had a late afternoon invite to sit outside with our good pals in the village, we both needed a good shower and change of clothing before joining them. It was a happy, happy interlude. We returned home feeling rejuvenated.

Yet another perfect day. We have, we believe, almost completed the decorating after ten days of labour both indoors and out. After the weekend, I shall devote my time to painting Maw's much loved Grace

I shall be back with you before the end of the day. I confess to not yet being fully updated with your happenings. I shall do my best to make amends.

Yiayia4 Thu 15-Apr-21 14:13:54

Sounds like you had a nice afternoon Soop so good to be able to see friends again.
I’m feeling very sad today my lovely cousin died this morning she had a massive stroke in August then a couple of weeks ago had an infection and sepsis. She was sixty seven we grew up together and I will miss her very much.
Hair done this morning no more grey roots!
Take care all have a nice day.

brook2704 Thu 15-Apr-21 15:29:10

dragonfly46 Thu 15-Apr-21 15:36:51

So sorry to hear your news Yia flowers

kittylester Thu 15-Apr-21 15:44:32

So sorry to hear your sad news yiayia. I hope you are ok.flowers

Galen I hope your scan had a good result.

The story of our hall has almost reached an end. We have 6 decorators in our hall and downstairs loo. They are a happy, chatty bunch and are working hard (and drinking lots of tea and eating lots of biscuits)

DD3 had her gall bladder removed on Monday and was provided with a sick bowl for the journey home 'just in case'. Luckily she didn't need it but Wolfie found a use for it!

Grandmabatty Thu 15-Apr-21 15:46:11

I'm sorry to hear that Yiayia . My condolences.?

GrannyGravy13 Thu 15-Apr-21 15:57:53

Sending my condolences Yiayia

Three sessions at the gym this week, I have aches in places that I had forgot existed - ouch!

Ventured to the other end of the seafront to the big Waitrose (it has a large John Lewis homeward section, and a good quality toy department) for a mooch around, I can honestly say that so far I think I may have lost my shopping gene (GrandpaGravy is ecstatic)

Other than food, I came away with a pair of reusable /washable swim nappies and some soft balls for the GC to play with in the water.

TOYA

BladeAnnie Thu 15-Apr-21 17:30:36

Good afternoon lovely kitcheners. yia I'm so sorry to hear your sad news - a really difficult time for you flowers. There are some amazing photos you lovely people have posted smile. I'm going to try and attach a photo of the blanket I've just finished knitting for our expected grandson. soop - I wonder if Duncan has been communicating with Fern?? He has just started asking - no demanding - three meals a day rather than his usual two!! Mr BA just says let the old boy have what he wants grin!! Hope everyone has a pleasant evening and virtual hugs to everyone in need of a little comfort

soop Thu 15-Apr-21 17:32:07

My condolences dear Yiayia. A very sad time for all your family. flowers

Galen Please keep smiling. Us lot are very fond of you.

kitty Wolfie looks well pleased with his new bowler hat. His cheeky grin is infectious Your dear daughter will certainly feel very much better minus her gall bladder. I had 19 stones removed with mine. They live in a jar in the knicker drawer.

We have finished today's painting of the masonry and wood surround of the front door. Also finished the outdoor windows. I took a photo to show the brilliant colour of the door. It makes us smile. Cheerful!

I now need to prepare supper. We also need to tidy away the gubbins that is cluttering the entrance hall.

Mr Soop informs me...'We have a visitor'. Guess who? Right first time.

Until tomorrow. smile love to you all. moon

Nannytopsy Thu 15-Apr-21 17:32:31

Very restrained GG ! I am sure you will find it again ?
I have just had my hair cut! New salon, great cut, nice lady and half the price of the last place. What’s not to like?
I am glad you got to the hairdresser Yiayia but so sorry to hear your sad news. I have a number of cousins but only one close one, who I would miss.
Good work soop! We keep saying “I’ll just do that job in the garden, then I’ll paint” but never get round to it. One day! Glad your decorating is going ahead full steam Kitty.
Also glad that Fern has come back again. Our Charlie is very wobbly today and moulting badly - poor old chap.
Have a good evening.

Grandmabatty Thu 15-Apr-21 17:57:01

I love your door colour Soop. Your house looks so tidy.

Puzzler61 Thu 15-Apr-21 18:04:50

Your front door is a very cheery colour soop. I’m pleased that Fern is still popping in to eat you out of house and home. ?‍⬛
BladeAnnie your neatly knitted blanket looks very cosy. Just right for snuggling a new GS in soon.
3 sessions at the gym in a week Grannygravy. I wish I had your energy!
Thumbup ? for haircuts this week Nannytopsy. I was pleasantly pleased with the cost of a new stylist too.
Have a good evening everyone. I think a lot of us will be seeing lovely sunsets ?
TOYA Urmstongran come back soon, I miss your “Evening All”.

Jaxjacky Thu 15-Apr-21 18:13:23

Yia my condolences, how very sad for you and her family.
Lots of news and delightful pictures, what an industrious lot..*soop*, gorgeous colour, * Blade what dexterity and patience. kitty Wolfie will go far!
Sounds like some sort of cat telepathy, jungle drums ?, going on for three meals a day, chancers. GG13 my only shopping gene seems to be for seeds and allotment/garden stuff, clothing and ‘accessories’ leave me cold.
I’ve had a nothingy day, a few flower plants delivered, 4 out of 7 ‘thrive on neglect’ sounds good, flowers are a new venture for me. A GP rang re nosebleed, not one I know, locum maybe, not a lot of help really. Anyway, DD and GC’s here tomorrow afternoon for bbq, much excitement, they only live locally, but not seen them ‘properly’ for months.
Have a pleasant evening all x

muse Thu 15-Apr-21 18:24:06

Another amazing day today with the weather. MrM keeps saying "I hope this is not our summer". No coast walk but did my usual walk with Mya on part of the Camel Trail. It's used by walkers, horses and cycles. Today it was dominated by cyclists a plenty. It should be quieter next week.

Split the afternoon with pricking out seedlings (got lots of Verbena bonariensis) ,and weeding. Disappointed that the Aster 'Ostrich Plume" haven't germinated. It's the second packet. I've grown them before so not sure what has gone wrong this time. Our big rhododendron (Lizzie) is about to burst forth. Deep red which stands out in the dusk light.

Main task this evening (well there are two). First a long text back to my dear friend near Sheffield. Not heard from her since Christmas and I understand why after reading it. Then I will catch up with Sewing Bee.

It's slutty supper tonight.

brook2704 Like the photos. That was a quiet day at the tearoom! Mr Brook has the map ready I see. The path is the one I struggle to do now GrandmaFrench. I only manage half way down.

soop What else do you collect/save in your knicker drawer I wonder? wink I love the paprika door.
kitty Very cute Wolfie.
Yiayea4 Sorry to read about your cousin. I hope the hair do has lifted you.

Hope all new hair dos have worked wonders on those who've had an appointment. Hope all 2nd vaccines have been received with very few side effects.

Hugs for all ????????

Galen Thu 15-Apr-21 18:27:41

jax thanks. 3 boxes ordered.
I can now have my tagines again. Although I used the last sachet to accompany a coq au vin!
Gary and Kate really enjoyed it for Monday lunch.

dustyangel Thu 15-Apr-21 18:31:26

Lovely colour front door soop, so clever to photograph it in the sunshine next to those sparkling windows wink

dustyangel Thu 15-Apr-21 18:34:52
