At last, an increase in the Welsh puffin population, so nice to see bird numbers increasing for once, particularly such a lovely species.

I wonder if less pollution due to worldwide lockdowns helped?

That is good news. I love to watch them at Bempton and Flamborough in Yorkshire.

Jersey’s puffin numbers have been very low this year. Hope they recover.

I love puffins. The Farne islands are full of them. It’s nice to have some good news today.

I thought the main reason for their decline was lack of sand eels which had been over fished for fertiliser. Does this mean the over fishing has been stopped?

Donkeys years ago there used to be puffins on the IOM mainly on the Calf of Man but they're no more and they've tried using decoys to bring them back.
Plenty of other sea birds and loads of seals but no puffins sad

They eat fish as well I believe NfkDumpling.

I thought it was interesting because they are just arriving for the season, hopefully it might mean that they return in greater numbers to Jersey and other parts of the UK as well.
