Good morning all on here from a surprisingly sunny North Lancs. It promised rain till 1pm but it’s amazingly sunny already. I’ll find time to read all the posts later, but I want to walk before the weather changes it’s mind!

Good morning all from a very damp Lancashire. It rained heavily last night and is still raining now, but the sun is trying to break through. Yesterday was quite a good day, although I didn’t get out for a walk. I washed towels and made a slow cooker chilli. There are actually some leftovers so it’s chilli with baked potatoes later, one of my favourites! My new dress arrived, such quick service! I don’t usually buy maxi dresses as they tend to be much too long, but I looked at the photo on the much taller model and guessed it would fit, and it does! The model is 5ft 8ins and a size 12, I am 5ft 2ins and a size 16, not me in the photo . It has no fastenings, just pull over my head and I’m ready to go. I think it’s the sort of dress that will suit many occasions and I had a 20% discount code so only paid £36, bargain!

Mr B. has been busy in th mancave, akagarden shed, he’s making birdboxes which we will give to family and friends as presents.

It's a rather damp and blustery morning here in South Yorkshire - quite a contrast to the last couple of days.

Nothing much to report today, another day of not much happening, so will sign off with best wishes to you all.

Thank you for sharing, brave Marydoll. So glad you could talk to the right doctor even if it didn’t really cheer you. Life is really very unfair. What a shock for Dragonfly’s friend - another example of how hard life can be.

Pouring here so Tesco trip postponed till it eases off. Shall admire our newly reupholstered sitting room furniture instead; it looks so smart I may have to ban DH from the room, given his talent for spilling things.

Good morning all from north Surrey, light showers here as promised.
Poor DH became a taxi service yesterday after my trip to the optician and eye drops which meant I couldn’t drive. I was needed as babysitter so he had those journeys on top of school runs and collecting my car which was in a limited time parking zone.
I have done the get them up/breakfasted/dressed and school run this morning. Today will be washing, cleaning and ironing and dog walk.
Ashcombe the ships must be a stunning sight from the downs.
Sending my thoughts too for a poorly Hattie, our pets are such an important part of our lives.
I have been enjoying watching the birds on the feeder from the comfort of my kitchen chair, but I really do need to get on and get some work done. The house is always in need of a spruce when the boys have been.

Good morning everyone from the north Kent coast where it is cloudy, but the sun is doing its best to struggle through.

Tree surgeons eventually got round to pollarding the monster London Plane tree outside the front of the house. It looks a bit truncated this morning, but no doubt will soon start putting out new growth.

The cars had to be moved from the drive so we took the opportunity to jet wash the driveway. Can’t believe the difference it’s made now everything is cleaned of dirt and moss. Have to wear sunglasses when the sun shines on such brilliance!

Great pics of the cruise ships; we were on Arcadia for four months going round the world and we too loved every minute of it - even going through the Bay of Biscay in a force twelve storm. Made for a couple of interesting days!

I too am sending thoughts to dragonfly, Maw and Hattie and also little Louis.

A damp morning after quite a heavy shower earlier so I think this will be the order of the day today. Not very warm either.

As I lay in bed last night I could smell burning so obviously didn't settle as I normally would do. It wasn't near, but there in the distance. Honestly I've got a nose like an anteater ! Not literally, but my sense of smell is spot on.

On looking at the local news it reported that there'd been/was a bad fire in Walton, Liverpool 8 miles from where I am over the water. It just shows what's blown on the wind from a distance like that. I knew it wasn't near, but the smell was there in my nostrils. Maybe one of my ancestors was a sniffer dog .

Speaking of cruise ships Ashcombe, there are 6 which will be leaving from Liverpool this year at different intervals.
I have lovely memories of walking onto the near prom seeing the 3 Queens sailing in. A glorious day with crowds lining the full length of the prom here 6 years ago. What a sight.

You have my thoughts Dragonfly. It took me a long time to get over the death of my friend just over 3 years ago.

Hope Louis is picking up after his op., such an ordeal for one so young x

Marydoll say whatever you wish or want to say here however you feel. I for one wouldn't want a fraction of your medical problems and it doesn't seem fair that one person has to have all these illnesses thrown at them. I could cry for you. x How do we know if a person's okay or not unless they say so ?

Fun and games on the farm Sheepandcattle with the bull and three cows arriving. Then later on-------all hands to the wheel. Another busy time ahead. Pinchy has done so well to be saved from a fate worse than death. Well done.

Following on from my tale of seeing a calf being born during my school lesson, through the window in the farmer's field, I remember telling mum when I got home that I saw the calf coming from " the cow's bottom" her answer was " eat your tea " as Thora Hird used to tell the daughter to drink her coffee if the conversation turned to embarrassments, as in " Last of the Summer Wine ". Strange parents. I was 11 or 12

I have to make a quick trip to the corner shop to top-up the cat food as 3 and an outside stray take a lot of feeding but none of them give me any trouble at all and just sleep after a good feed.

Fish, chips and peas today. Next week I'll get some salmon from M&S along with some more goodies to keep me going.
I managed to devour 8 rounds of cheese on toast yesterday. Granted they were small pieces of brown bread but it still looked a lot on the plate I'm glad nobody called !

Right, now I must get cracking so hope all is well with everyone and you have as good a day as you can.Stay safe and take care xx

Just back from an overnight stay with an 89 year old neighbour who had a throat operation yesterday and needed someone with her in case of problems. She was up with the lark and seemed to be happy to have company.

Difficult conversations Mary so pleased you had your favourite Doctor. No need to feel embarrassed you are greatly valued on the GM thread ?

Good morning from a windy NE where we have had heavy showers too.
DH had a bad day yesterday and we both had a disturbed night, I decamped to the spare room with my book.
DH has had no reaction to his vaccination which I am pleased about, he has enough to contend with.
Must do some paperwork, NS&I bonds are up for renewal but I will cash them in because in real terms they are making no interest and are locking up money for three years.
One of the ovens broke yesterday, oh joy.

It's lovely to hear from Fife, Elizabeth1. I lived in Newport on Tay as a child. Can't wait to get back to the north east coast to visit family.

I hope all goes well for your DS. It's stressful waiting for a diagnosis.

The Line of Duty matter sounds controversial, but hopefully it will give publicity to the need to support people with Downs Syndrome.

Baubles my little pooch always lies right beside me and I find I’m squashed into the corner of the sofa. Awkward whilst crocheting I know! ?

Ash such positive news for your DH. Love your pics of the cruise ships. We went on the Aurora (Arcadia’s sister ship) five years ago on a world wide cruise. It took 4 months and we loved every second of it. I think, going by the tracker link you sent, she is docked near Bournemouth. ?.

DD and littlest Gd popped by after school yesterday for half an hour. We played in the garden and it was lovely to see her. The schools break up for Easter today for two weeks. They’ve only been back two minutes ?.

Dgd 1 is back from Uni next week, and we’re really looking forward to seeing her. What a disappointing start to their university experience!

Good morning Mick and all! As Kalu has said, its pouring here in Glasgow, so a hameldaeme ( home will do me) day.

Great disappointment here, my empty ⛳ has been cancelled☹, DH has hurt his back (golfing) and his partner isn't feeling too good after his vaccination!
Yesterday, I cut DH's, but hadn't realised how brutal I had been, until DH's golfing partner came over to cancel the golf and I caught him staring at DH's hair or the lack of it! ? I now realise that I had a cheek to complain the other day, about my neighbour, (DIL's father) butchering my hydrangea bushes!! ?

Yesterday brought a hospital letter, stating my VitD levels were non existent (a frequent occurence) and that my calcium levels weren't far behind, which meant I couldn't have my alendronic acid infusion, which is already eighteen months late, due to my shielding. ☹ It implied that I hadn't been taking my medication and I should contact my GP.
I was due to phone the surgery next week anyway about a review of one of my heart meds, so I took the bull by the horns and braved the lions den!
Much to my surprise, I got a lovely, sympathetic receptionist who said she would get a doctor to phone back.
I could have wept with relief, when ten minutes later, my favourite GP phoned me. When I became too ill to work, he was a tower of strength and supported me with the ill health retiral process.
I explained how I had serious problems with my mouth, broke my front tooth, trying to chew the calcium tablet, due to very active Sjogren's system, (an autoimmune condition). Also he noticed how hoarse (another symptom) I was, saying he hadn't realised how unwell I was. Bypassing the system, (meds too expensive) he managed to change the meds to a drink instead and said the hospital will deal with the VitD problem.

Then we got onto my heart problems. He was horrified that I have been so unwell recently and said they were unaware difficult things are, as I hadn't told anyone.
We had a very frank discussion about my prognosis and the fact that nothing more can be done. The last option is to increase the dosage of one drug, which he has done. Unfortunately, I'm allergic to the ones which could improve my quality of life.
Although, it was a difficult conversation, I feel so much better for unburdening myself and getting my feelings out of my system, rather than boring you all on here!!!
It also prompted a conversation with Mr Ostrichhead in the sand, who has been in denial up until now. That was adifficult one. ?

As usual, when needing a diversion, I baked. I'm unsure of the finished product, Marydoll's Mars Bar cake, made with white chocolate Coco Pops. The jury is out on that one. ?
A bit too sickly for me, but my sweet toothed neighbours will love it.

Dragonfly, what a terrible shock for you and your poor friend. I pray your pain levels have reduced, Auntieflo and you have an easier day today.
Fantastic news from France, Ashcome. My GP thought he would cheer me up yesterday, by telling me I was on track to get the second dose. He soon changed his mind, when he read my severe reaction to the first dose! ? However, he did insist I have the second one.

I was humbled, overwhelmed and a little bit surprised by all the kind comments after my wobble yesterday. I now feel embarrassed!?

I plan to make salmon fish cakes today, but it's tinned salmon, so no oneupmanship here! ?
I need to get moving, Tesco delivery due today and DD is coming up to look after and put the shopping away. The real reason is that she wants to snaffle the fish cakes, her favourites. She must think I came up the River Clyde on a bike!
