Nearly 200 Dutch people sign up for a ‘test’ Greek island holiday.

When we went to Crete a couple of years ago some people did just that! Now, I like a relaxing time too so we tend to have a relaxing day followed by an exploring day as I always want to see around the next corner, thinking "I may never come this way again".

One sun lounger, one pool, one modern hotel is much like another so I can't see the point of spending a week or two lounging by the pool.

What a waste of time. One of the joys of travel is exactly that travelling, not staying in a resort and not going anywhere. We love to eat local food, meet local people and learn about the culture wherever we are.

We are lucky to have our own little spiti in Greece and what we particularly love is being accepted as part of the community in our village and the slightly wider area and taking part in local celebrations etc.

However, I suppose if all you want to do is lie on a sun lounger all day then it might be the holiday for you, but not for me.
