I have no idea why you have no children, or even if you have them, and I don't care. I don't care whether you are male or female either. I can comment that I feel you are one or the other without it being abusive, the same with commenting on a similarity with someone else.
However, I am glad that you have contacted Tesco and received a reply. Does it put your mind at rest re getting help from the driver, or will you need to contact them again for clarification?
Anecdotally, this is my experience - Drivers are very responsible and very helpful, bearing in mind that they do have a schedule to keep to so can't spend unlimited time. Every order I have received from them has been placed just inside the front door. The drivers don't step inside, but do share with me the repacking into strong carrier bags (which came free from orders from Iceland) I wear a mask, so do the drivers. The perishable things I put away at once, the tins etc left until next day. I have never washed shopping.
I have never caught the virus, either. I am not shielding, but I am avoiding unmasked contact with anyone. The vaccine is now having an effect on the transmission of the virus and the virulency of it, so "normality" is not as far off as it was previously.
