Good Morning Friday

Good morning from Essex by the sea where it is misty but I can see the sun trying to find his hat.
My visit to the specialist dentist yesterday was very thorough and I need two appointments for deep cleaning, these are booked for two weeks apart in May. I am absolutely dreading the experience as is my pocket, almost time to take out a second mortgage. Needs must and I'm trying not to think about it until nearer the time.
I have to drop DH off somewhere this morning and collect him this afternoon so I will have an empty today. I'll call in at Lidl on my way home and peruse at my pace and not his, as I usually do.
Bed changing and washing later.
DD2 told me that they had to have their 16 year old cat PTS yesterday as she collapsed. She's buried in the garden with their other cat. Both girls were very upset. They still have Hugo but he doesn't like cuddles like Mia did. She would sit on your lap and purr away ?.

A shopping trip and I’m taking my £1 coins with me to buy the ingredients (bottles of booze) that I need for a cocktail I have found in a magazine. An unlockdown treat.

Good news that your hall no longer leaks kitty. That must have been a frustrating time for you.

Forgot. Someone jokingly suggested I’d take orders for quilts. I actually would! I’m very happy to oblige, but warn you that a double/king quilt would be around £200 for the materials only as they are 100% cotton. I certainly wouldn’t charge for my time.

Morning all from a clear bright 2c south coast. Looks like a nice day in store.

Very pleased to get a call from the surgery to go for our second jabs yesterday and, like the first one, it all ran like clockwork with excellent organisation and lots of helpful, smiley volunteers. We had the Pfizer and so far no side effects, which is good.

I get cramp in bed occasionally and leaping out of bed to ease it, the other night, I managed to pull the muscle in my calf. It's happened before and makes walking painful and the calf muscle sore for a few days. A real nuisance as I also have dodgy knees. The joys of getting old!

DH has a dental appointment this morning and I must cut his hair at some point. I also need to finish my shopping list for the click and collect tomorrow. Speaking of which, I note that Morrisons are following Tesco in banning plastic bags BUT are offering paper ones instead. I hope Tesco follow suit!

Morning all from a drizzly North Leicestershire.

A pootling and faffing day today for me. DH is driving this morning and, amongst other things, I aim to dismantle the Christmas door wreath. I left it up as it was so cheerful but it is looking slightly the worse for wear.

The most exciting thing to do though is sending the paint colours to the decorator ready for decorating the hall next week. Some of you might remember the saga of our hall which started in September 2019 with the ceiling falling down while we were away. The cat feeding lady coped really well with the trauma of finding the ceiling on the floor. It should be fully refurbished by the end of the month and the roof no longer leaks!!!

Up with the lark this morning as second jab at the GPs at 8.30.
Then friends for coffee in the garden - must get the heater out.
After lunch walking with a friend then phone call to DD.
Thank goodness my cleaner is starting again next week as no time for housework!

Good morning from a brightish E Kent.
It was odd to see a contrail this morning. Normally, the sky round here is full of them as planes follow the Dover beacon, but since lockdown...
DH congratulated me las t night. What had I done? Absolutely nothing! I hadn’t fiddled around sewing, cooking or washing - I just sat down and read. Most unusual.
Today - bedding and return to a quilt I started last year, but involves a lot of hand quilting which I detest. It is dark/light blue and white for our bed. All the other quilts have been given away.
May today be filled with sunshine ☀️ and quiet little moments of happiness and “flamands roses” ????

Good morning from north Surrey, overcast and still cold.
I had a very lazy day yesterday, which is unusual for me.
This morning will do some online Pilates and a visit to mum and dad. They have more prescriptions to collect and I will take my cleaning bits, give the bathroom a once over and vacuum round - mum has a very lightweight carpet sweeper which serves them well but it needs a good vacuum every few weeks for a more thorough job.
I will tackle my pile of ironing this afternoon and clean my bathrooms. DH says he will clean the kitchen ✔️ and then watch the golf
I hope today is a positive one for all, some more ☀️ would help

Good morning to everyone from a peaceful Torbay.

Yesterday, during my Zoom call with DD2 and DGD, we made plans for my visit to them next month, assuming restrictions are lifted on 17th May. I’ll be there for my birthday, for which we were in lockdown last year when it was a milestone one. It will be lovely to have more of a celebration for my 71st!

This is just a brief dip in and out of this thread today as I’m planning to do an early shop in Lidl before it’s busy. I hope Nobby isn’t too worn out by the amorous girls, sheepandcattle! Great news about your vaccines, GrannyGravy13. Delighted to say that DH in France has received an appointment for his first one on Monday.
