Good morning Auntyflo and all x
North Devon expectant mothers are on their own as of today.
Good Morning Everyone,
Its light , but grey and wet outside here in Brackley this morning.
A quiet day for me , pick up my prescriptions later, looking forward to having a haircut, plus with cafes etc reopening , will be interesting as drinking and eating outside if the weather or its cold will put many off.
Take Care,
Mick
Good morning Auntyflo and all x
Good morning all from a cold but beautifully sunny Derbyshire.
Gardening and/or housework this morning. DH is having his hair cut this afternoon, mine will wait a bit longer as I've grown it over the last year so it just needs levelling off.
Happy anniversary Purplepixie.
It will be lovely to see Iris and her sister grandMattie. Hope it goes well. I'm another who has to tread carefully around DD and SiL. It's fine as long as I keep my head down and don't offer any opinions!
. As it turns out, 30 somethings know much more about everything than the older generation! Which reminds me, SiL starts his new job today after leaving his brief career in teaching. Big changes coming for us all because of that.....which will no doubt spill out in due course!
Hope today is a good day for all
Good morning from North Yorkshire. It’s bright and sunny again but still chilly.
Grammaretto
remember happy days.
Purplepixie happy anniversary.
Some housework to do today then perhaps mow the lawn and bits of admin to follow up too.
I’ll save the shops for later in the week when I have a hair appointment.
Have a good day everyone. Stay safe.
Good morning from a sunny NE where it is -1 and frosty.
Long chat to DD and SIL on skype yesterday afternoon, one of the cats decided to jump on the sideboard and remove objects.
A sure fire way to capture attention, knocking ornaments on to the floorboards.
Apparently I was screaming at 5am this morning, DH says he has never heard anything so loud and felt sure the neighbours will have heard. Wasn't aware of having nightmares but it doesn't surprise me with the stress we are under at present.
I have always had night terrors and sleeep walked.
Will need to talk to my hairdresser and see when she starts her home visits again.
Grammaretto
Good morning all from the freeeezing Scottish Borders but the sun is shining!
As Baubles has pointed out, we aren't too far behind you English folks and I am looking forward to shoe shops opening. My shoes are falling to pieces.
It's our 52nd wedding anniversary today and my first without DH so I am going to DDs overnight.
I have been too busy these last few days to read the GM posts but I hope you are all doing well. The painter finished yesterday so I have a wonderful "new" room to come back to.
Grammaretto it was our 52nd anniversary on the 7th ! Easter Monday 1969 !
Good Morning all. The weather is not looking too bright at the moment, hope it lightens later.
Grand mattie I hope seeing Iris will eclipse any other problems.
Marydoll, glad you enjoyed your shopping trip, such a good idea to go so early. I won’t be rushing off to the shops anytime soon and if I do I’ll try the same idea.
We had a lovely chatty , fun afternoon yesterday even if a bit chilly.
. DH at golf and then some jobs to do for his Mum on the way home. A few jobs around the house for me, a walk and then amuse myself.
Hope missing posters are okays everyone finds a smile today.
Marydoll I start the fire pit by pouring some paraffin over the logs which takes off immediately. DH bought some compressed logs from B&Q but the amount of thick smoke, once they got going made it impossible to sit around the fire pit. Grr!
Good morning all. Sunny and frosty but thankfully another fall of snow yesterday didn’t land. Bizarre weather!
A FaceTime call from DD1 and both GDs, prepared with knitting needles and wool. Although I taught both DDs and GDs to knit, they didn’t continue with it and we had an online lesson interspersed with frustration and laughter. A few photos in the evening to show me their progress.....interesting!?
Another FaceTime call was from DD2 and SiL in Australia plus Hughie, the dog who now recognises my voice. No surprise DD chose a yellow lab. as this is the breed she grew up with.
Nothing planned, another Groundhog Day, washing on, some housework done.....now off to find something interesting to fill my day.
Have a good day all.
Good morning from Cheshire. Sunny but cold. Today's highlight is a delivery from Morrison's !
Love the lamb,Baubles - I used to love going "Up Clydeside" in the Spring to see the new lambs and visit some garden centres. Not been there for years as very few relatives left now in that area.
Will read rest of posts later.
Have as good a day as possible.
Good morning from Shropshire.Another day of sunshine forecast although yesterday’s sun turned into alternate sun, snow and hail?♀️
Off to the hairdressers later for cut and colour?feel quite safe going as last time I went my hairdresser was wearing more PPE than the hospital staff when I went for a scan. Will then go to M and S food.
Ash, hope you enjoy your night away.
grandmattie, hope your visit goes well, it will be lovely to see the girls.I totally understand the walking on eggshells, maybe as dragonfly says if your daughter upsets you you could gently mention how what she has said has made you feel.
Thinking of Cherry and hoping Mary and Auntieflo have had restful nights.
Have a good day all and thinking of our absent goodmorningers and all with illness and worries??
Good luck, Kate, it will be over in seconds! ?
Happy anniversary, Purplepixie. ???
Thank you Marydoll I used the word ‘novella’ in my online scrabble and beat the computer. I thought of you ?
Good morning Mick and All.
It’s snowing here in South Bucks, what has happened to the weather.
Going to have my Covid test at the hospital this morning in order to be allowed in on Wednesday. I hope I don’t gag when they put that stick up my nose and in my throat ? I know, too much information.
Good morning all from a very chilly Glasgow, its -5°C, but the sun is shining brightly. DH, who is golfing, will probably return home, ( not too early, I hope ?) suffering from a combination of frostbite and sunburn! ?
Solo una minuscola novella oggi! In other words, only the tiniest of novelle today, you will be relieved to know. I have nothing really to report at all.
I spent a couple of hours pottering in the garden, but in the end I had to reluctantly call on DH for help to dig some holes. The least bit of activity nowadays feel like climbing a mountain and requires a lie down afterwards! ⛰
As for trying out the ? firepit I would be useless as an arsonist. I have tried everything, including firelighters, all to no avail!! For those of you who have logburners, perhaps you could offer some advice on how to get it started.
For the horse racing fans on here, you may be interested to know that Dollie won, to quote her, $7 on the ????, which she blew on a box of Lego.
We received a video, in which she took great delight in telling papa, that he should stop betting on donkeys and ask her for tips! ?
My most arduous and exciting tasks for today are to do my injection and chase up my prescriptions. There is a text messaging service, which is supposed to alert me when they are ready. It never happens. ☹
GM, I'm a bit like you with my eldest son, I too walk on eggshells. What I say is usually misconstrued, so I say as little as possible now. Its sad, but less stressful. ?
Ashcombe, enjoy your break and Pants I'm so jealous!
If georgesgran, Bellasnana and any of our missing posters are reading, I hope you are as well, as you can be. ?
Take care all, and enjoy your day, what ever your plans.
Good morning all from a cold S Hants, +1, we’ve had light snow overnight and a flurry just now. Enjoy your girls night Ash a wee break and GM I hope your time with your DD and Iris passes uneventfully. Happy Anniversary * PurplePixie*, enjoy your meal. I’m still a bit shocked as I had a nose bleed last night, I used to get them, then had a cauterisation two years ago, I’ve done an online consultation, hopefully I can have it done again.
No rushing out for me today, too cold for allotment, I may greenhouse potter after the washing is on. Enjoy your day everyone, especially those venturing out for a reacquaintance with shops and hairdressers, stay safe.
Morning Mick and all
Grey and overcast here in S E Essex but I do
not care as I am going to the gym yippee!!
I have given myself a good talking to and from today my positivity and mojo are returning.I shall endeavour to put a year of restrictions behind me and focus on the future.
I hope that your mojos are with you also
my virtual friends (((hugs)))
Keep safe and well folks ?♀️?
Good morning from a grey chilly Essex. We are heading up to Suffolk today for a couple of weeks. The weather there is much the same, only a little (or a lot) blowier ???, by the sea. My lovely neighbour will put the heating on for us, so it will be cosy when we arrive.
Ash have a lovely night away with your bubble buddy.
GranMattie - how lovely to see Iris after all this time. Hopefully it will be stress free . As I said yesterday, Mother/Daughter relationships can be tricky.
Cute pic of the little lamb baubles . They are so pretty.
I hope we don’t all get too carried away with the freedom that has been bestowed on us today. We must keep safe still and be sensible.
Kindly wishes to all.
???
Good morning Mick and all.
grandMattie you're right, the reactions to a more freedom will vary greatly. I am feeling ready for a bit of retail therapy.
Such lovely sheep and lamb photos on here. I think I'm a very visual poster and am enjoying little picture insights into people's lives, quilts and all!
There was a horse on the beach yesterday if you can just about see it.
Have a good day.
Good morning from Colchester where there's a light dusting of overnight snow. It's forecast to feel warmer than it is, so I assume the recent biting wind has dropped and the sun will put in an appearance. Back to freezing tonight though.
I need a couple of bits from a supermarket but won't be braving non essential shopping until the frenzy dies down. My long straight undyed hair has done its own thing for 14 months so a few more weeks without seeing a hairdresser won't matter.
Much love x
Morning all from the south coast.-0.3c and thick cloud. Hope it stays dry from 9am -10am as I have a hair appointment! Yeah! First one since early December and much needed.
I am still limping from my pulled calf muscle but it is better than it was. I didn't help myself yesterday by leaping over the border onto the front lawn where DH was doing some gentle dead heading of daffs. He offered me the use of walking sticks which he used to come home from hospital last August. I declined graciously! I'd probably trip over a stick in my present accident-mode state. I even cut open the nail base on a finger when opening a new pack of pillows, managing to stain one before it's even been used.
The builders should be arriving to start on the garage roof replacement work this morning. There is some building work needed on our neighbour's half which has to be done first and the asbestos is scheduled to be removed next Monday.
Hope the day is a good one for us all.
Good morning everyone from Inverness where it’s a bright dry sunny start to the day but with a frost on the ground
Hope your DD visit goes well GM and there’s no upsets - mother /daughter relationships can be so tricky. I’ve experienced it myself but in my case it seems to have improved a bit over the last few years. Hopefully all will be well
Lots of positive news as things reopening in England and can’t wait for Scotland to follow. Not to long hopefully baubles
Enjoy your night away Ash you deserve it and enjoy your gym session too dwm
I’ve got 2 DGC here just now both just waking up - there’s one more week of school holidays here and DD2 has to work early this week. So I’ll be busy .. they’ll be going home this afternoon but back tonight again.
Hope everyone finds something to enjoy today and take care all whatever the day brings ?
Good Morning all from East Staffordshire where it is looking very cold out there.
Happy Anniversary Purplepixie have a lovely day.
Ashcombe I do hope you enjoy your night away and your change of scenery.
I am off to work shortly and then this evening I am off to DD to help her cull DGS playroom to make room for the baby. It will have to be done when DGS is I bed as he will undoubtedly want to keep everything out. She will put lots away and rotate them every three months or so as he rarely plays with some.
Have a good day and remember your smiles.❤️?
Good morning, yes it is sunny in Leicestershire. I hope it stays dry as a man is coming to paint the facia board.
Two more sleeps to my haircut!
Happy Anniversary Purple Pixie.
Sorry to hear that you walk on eggshells around your DD GrandMattie. Mine used to be the same but I think it was because she wasn’t happy. We now get on really well. She probably doesn’t realise - could you mention gently how it makes you feel?
Not seen Bellasnana for a while.
Good morning from a very cold, frosty but sunny east Midlands. Wedding anniversary today, 14 years. A walk after breakfast and some food shopping to do. Takeaway for tea tonight. Still got to stay safe even though lock down is easing.
