Maw, very pleased to learn of your reprieve. We did our utmost to get them to change the verdict but, at last, they have taken pity and recalled you from exile.
Izabella, it's great to see you here again. You are so good at keeping us in touch with the natural world. Your words paint a picture.
Have a good weekend all. With any luck and a following wind, we will soon be able to hug our GC and anyone else who looks as if they need a hug.

Jaxjacky Fri 14-May-21 18:41:23

Synonomous sorry, but I laughed!

MawBe Fri 14-May-21 18:40:19

Thanks to you all for the very kind words of welcome (and I hadn’t even produced the chocolate cupcakes yet ) , Rosie will enjoy her “home from home” , but I do urge you to put anything edible (or even inedible) well out of reach.
So far I have retrieved assorted slippers, trainers, socks and the morning’s post from the garden. Shredding bills is not unwelcome but could cause problems if they remain unpaid .
She is a very sweet friendly dog though and while Hattie left big boots to fill, Rosie is very loving . She follows me everywhere and as you will have seen, has elected to sleep in the corner of my bedroom.
I have followed your news over the last few months and longed to contribute, commiserate or congratulate as appropriate.. TOYA ??

Maw so nice to see you home again and Marydoll I hope you have had a pleasant but quiet birthday.

Synonymous Fri 14-May-21 18:21:38

This was my effort!

Synonymous Fri 14-May-21 18:16:03

I am having lessons on technology from DD. I am pleased she is so patient as I am not gifted! hmm
I have been trying to get a decent photo of Smokie to no avail but my teacher has got one or two.

Synonymous Fri 14-May-21 18:08:44

So good to see you Maw and glad you now have Rosie! flowers

Grannynise Fri 14-May-21 18:01:21

As a very very intermittent kitchen visitor (I just peep round the door now and then) I'd just like to say hooooraaaay! Maw's back, and about time too.

Pittcity Fri 14-May-21 17:54:05

Welcome back Maw.
Wow it is getting crowded in here. Good job there no such thing as virtual social distancing.

cornergran Fri 14-May-21 17:50:56

Good to see you here millie in our elastic kitchen, always room for someone else. My apologies to those I may have missed.

Wow, maw, you made it. Hooray. Gently does it.

A very happy birthday marydoll, May is just the best month for birthdays smile.

We ventured out today, enjoyed a (dry) garden walk, very relaxing.

Time for tea here, have a good evening everyone. Take care.

Callistemon Fri 14-May-21 16:36:46

I was just passing by the door and heard all the ? corks popping, munching of cake and great cheering so I've popped in to see what's going on.

Welcome back MawBe, great to see you've arrived back in the kitchen.
Here's another ? and a very large gateau ? for all to share.

I did put a candle in it so Marydoll must have the honour of blowing it out - happy birthday, Marydoll ???

BladeAnnie Fri 14-May-21 16:25:17

Just popping to say hello dear kitcheners and hope everyone has a pleasant evening - the weekend begins here smile

soop Fri 14-May-21 16:19:23

Millie22 Our posts crossed. welcome. We are happy to share our kitchen with you. flowers

soop Fri 14-May-21 16:18:17

Our local pals have invited us to share a light early evening meal with them. I shall shower and wash my hair and tiddle with it endlessly before I'm happy with the outcome. It's what we women do. wink

On a very happy note, I wish you farewell until tomorrow.

Thank you for your company. smile moon

Millie22 Fri 14-May-21 16:17:30

Just looked into the kitchen - hope nobody minds - to say hello and welcome back to Maw

soop Fri 14-May-21 16:00:54

Chewbacca, linger longer. You too, Marydoll, dustyangel, aggie, kalu. Our Maw needs watching. It is has been so long since she joined us lot. She has been missed. And now, of course, we have Rosie in the pampered pets corner. Such excitement.

soop Fri 14-May-21 15:55:43

Doodle I agree. Those firemen were besotted with me, my leopard-lycra leotard and my lap dancing technique. I did attempt to pole dance. I got so far up the pole and then, I yelled for assistance. Them were the days. wink

dragonfly46 Fri 14-May-21 15:54:55

Good to see you too kitty!

kittylester Fri 14-May-21 15:53:02

I'm just popping in to say 'Hi' to our Maw!! Lovely to see you back.

soop Fri 14-May-21 15:50:55

Good to see you again, monk08. The more, the merrier. smile

Jaxjacky Fri 14-May-21 15:49:20

Bit rude of me, welcome Gillgran to the warm, in heart and soul kitchen.

Grandmafrench Fri 14-May-21 15:41:35

Afternoon Jolly Kitchen types.

And.......how lovely, Maw, but can't say for a moment that I'm surprised. It doesn't lessen the pleasure of seeing you post, though. I second soop's advice and would add "you can't fix stupid" - so maybe in future, please don't try. If you need to vent, do it here with us...... through a mouthful of cake. Super thrilled to hear of your new adventures with Rosie. She is obviously as cute as she looks.

Sorry you have a weekend of anxiety over your DD, Susan. But a diagnosis will come round soon enough and hopefully the right treatment to allow life to get back on an even keel. All good wishes to your DD.

Nice to see you gillgran. Welcome to a warm, safe space filled with lovely people - where nobody fights (except over cake!)

Glorious weather here today but howling winds again. I have just got in from the garden where I was caught out by a not so tiny crocodile lizard which dived out of a big plant. I do love them when they are very tiny,(thumbnail size!) but it's the speed and element of surprise which I find difficult. DH was in fits because he knows that I'll automatically curl up my toes in defence!!! I know. As if that's ever going to save me in an emergency. Toes in sandals were on display and he just waited for me to do it automatically! And I did. When we had a house in Greece, I used to get him to look carefully under the beds before I mopped the floors because a door from our bedroom led out directly to the pool terrace and was often left open when we were outside : then one morning I was greeted by 3 (very tiny) scorpions running out from under the bed - and I had bare feet. ? It's a wonder I'm here to tell the tale.

I'm away to make a flan for supper. DH will soon be back from his veggie run to the village greengrocer, so we can enjoy a salad later. Wishing you all a peaceful evening doing just what you want - and if that's absolutely nothing, well good for you!

Best wishes and a hug from French France (and me!)

dragonfly46 Fri 14-May-21 15:26:51
