I'm sorry doodle but I come here to the Kitchen where it is peaceful, the food is proper food and there exudes a certain degree of gentility (spell check helpfully propose 'fertility'), all of which have the power to soothe the troubled breast.?

Doodle Wed 12-May-21 20:07:14

ixion ask soop I was a twin set and pearls girl before I ventured into the Argy one damp night long ago.?
Did you know that soop used to do all the cooking for the Argy. I believe we’re still using her scones as door stops now ?
Hello Urms ?. Excuse me. What time of day were you on the hard stuff? ?

Urmstongran Wed 12-May-21 20:23:52

We were past the (our) yardarm Doodle ?
Wednesday afternoons we have a ‘lock in’ to share a wee dram. My stepfather is almost 90y. He has a a drink every day before 5pm. Then he stops.

‘I’m having whatever he’s on’ comes to mind. He’s self caring, takes no medication and enjoys good health. He says ‘enjoy it - just not too much’.

Your very good health, Grandmafrench. I have had two gins with tonic to make up for my ginless evening yesterday. You tell such a funny tale! My first dog was a very greedy retriever. She was called Sam, but everyone knew her as biscuit. That's what I shouted to get her to return from a mad run. ? Doodle chicken leftovers all ready. Soop I hope you are okay today.

brook2704 Wed 12-May-21 20:32:18

Oooh I might just join you in a Gin tonight grandmabatty not that I’ve done much to deserve it today ... it’s rained heavily on and off all day so I’ve not done much ..
Well done with learning your Gaelic phrases ..and pleased you enjoyed your wee dram with your dear stepfather
Lots of fun happening in the Argy .. everyone always welcome! ?

I`m glad you`re pleased with your hair cut Grandmabatty. Mine needs doing, but haven`t got round to making an appointment yet.
Lovely pics of Duncan and Charlie, 2 very handsome boys. Billy is still hiding out upstairs, doing his Greta Garbo impression. He`s found the 2 smallest spaces upstairs to hide in, but is quite happy to come out for fussing and strokes, then goes back. I`m taking his food upstairs, don`t want him ton starve, also the litter tray. As soon as he`s properly settled I`ll take and post photos.
Soop, how are you now? Hopefully on the mend and feeling better?

Hellogirl1 Wed 12-May-21 21:53:48

I was very rude earlier, I never mentioned the gorgeous Harper and Sam, so very sorry.

Charleygirl5 Wed 12-May-21 22:15:19

Hellogirl you are doing what we are supposed to do with a cat new to the house. He should have one room allocated so he knows where his food and litter tray are. He probably goes exploring during the night if you leave doors open. He will be sniffing around for a while. It is really good that he finds you when he wants strokes and cuddles- many cats run a mile for about a week. I do not think it will be too long before he is ruling the roost. He is a lucky fellow and I hope you tell him so!

Goodness what a busy Kitchen, not a hope of catching up properly. Can’t even run to do so as yesterday’s consultant was very clear - no running. I like that man smile

It seems I am to join the new knee club, apparently from the x-ray he reviewed it would have been a good idea if it had been done in 2017. Oops. Carry on as normal was his advice so I plan to do just that - without running of course

How have you been soop? Don’t like to think of you struggling. Did you decide on a car swap? Sometimes needs must I fear.

So pleased you have Billy hellogirl, looking forward to a photo when he will agree to pose.

It’s always a relief when a haircut is just right grandmabatty, unfortunately my last one was just wrong. hmm.

Good to see you back grandmafrench, I enjoy your tales.

Sam is looking good n&g, snap with the little going on other than the mundane.

Take care everyone, sleep well. TOYA.

Charleygirl5 Thu 13-May-21 08:21:16

cornergran that sounds to be good news. Hopefully his list is not too long and who knows there may even be a cancellation. Quite a few of us are members of the knee club now- I have two and thankfully I am not a centipede. I accept possibly the brains of one but only two legs.
I think your DH should get into training because he does not realise what is ahead of him-shopping, cooking, washing and ironing as well as plumping up your pillows because no doubt you will be thrown out when you recover from the anaesthetic. I am delighted to hear you are on a list.

Has Billy crept into your bedroom yet or is it too early?

BUGGERATIONS galore!!!!

I've just sent an email to M&S regarding the delivery of our long awaited suite. Asking them to confirm that the date they specified, is still on track.
A call came back soon after. Sorry, the date has had to be cancelled. It will be sometime in June, instead. We have visitors coming. We have parted with our old suite. We have two tatty chairs in use. I am furious beyond measure. I am venting my disgust and will return to behave in a ladylike fashion once I've collected my thoughts.

Thank you for listening.

brook2704 Thu 13-May-21 12:58:00

Oh no soop that’s dreadful service no wonder you are annoyed - and rightly so! I would be too and I’d probably cancel my order and see if I can get an alternative delivered from somewhere else. Not easy though if you’ve set your mind on a particular one .. Would M&S loan you a sofa for the time being ? Not ideal I know but maybe better than nothing ...

Grandmabatty Thu 13-May-21 13:02:15

That's not on Soop. They should have had the courtesy to let you know in plenty time.

Puzzler61 Thu 13-May-21 13:28:37

Shame on M&S soop. Their Customer Service used to be second to none. No wonder you are annoyed, with Visitors expected.

annodomini Thu 13-May-21 13:54:09

soop, that's disgraceful! BBC's Watchdog might be interested. Nowadays they have a slot on the One Programme. It's sad, but true that we almost expect delivery dates to be what you might call 'flexible'. But shifting your date to 'sometime in June' is not just flexible, it's fraudulent. M&S took your order under false pretences. If they gave you a precise date this could be a breach of contract.

Galen Thu 13-May-21 14:04:44

Bella. My grandpuppy

brook2704 Thu 13-May-21 14:21:15

Awww Galen how cute !!! I just want a cuddle - how old is she? xx

Grandmabatty Thu 13-May-21 14:25:30

Galen I have puppy envy! I have just assembled a mini greenhouse and put it in situ. Tomorrow I'll go buy a grow bag and get my tomato plants in. Just call me Percy Thrower *
* Only those of a certain vintage will recognise this name ?

Yiayia4 Thu 13-May-21 14:33:38

Soop that’s terrible service shame on M&S.?

Galen Thu 13-May-21 15:16:48

GrannyGravy13 Thu 13-May-21 15:24:53

soop that’s disgusting from M & S, is it worth contacting someone higher up, the least they can do is to give you a discount ?

No chance of catching folks, just keep on keeping on ?‍♀️

Yiayia4 Thu 13-May-21 15:31:53

Cocker poo even?

Nannytopsy Thu 13-May-21 16:05:04
