All the very best to BladeAnnie for tomorrow and, as they are wont to say in those parts: "Lang may yer lum reek".

Charleygirl5 Wed 26-May-21 14:36:35

I met up with three Macular friends for coffee today and when I returned the sun was shining. Unfortunately, my bedding remains on my bed because rain was forecast.

Lidl took over BHS at the shopping centre and it was easy to navigate because it was well laid out, not a jumble and cheap. The tills are self-service which I could not see but there was help and the girl did it all. The bus stop was opposite so it was so easy.

Please, Izabella, don't hide.
I thought your response was very dignified??

Izabella Wed 26-May-21 13:41:30

I am in the corner of the kitchen hiding behind the Aga having been shot down in another thread. Obviously feeling far too brave after Kates support today. just when In was feeling more positive.

ixion Wed 26-May-21 13:20:37

Wishing BladeAnnie and Mr. BA a memorable day tomorrow and continuing happiness?

Missed everyone yesterday but caught up will all posts. Rain has kept me in but I've either been on the phone, laptop (searching for house build help), or watching The Pact.

Took me nearly 4 hours, but so far I have three people interested in coming to look at the work involved for the house build. First comes tomorrow.

I had some comforting news from dear son late yesterday. He texted me on return from the hospital. Granddaughter has to have a few more tests (not urgent) to establish what is causing the dizzy and fainting spells but the heart consultant said her heart is not the cause of the problem. Scan shows everything is working fine.

Still no news from him regarding these jobs. I'm tempted to ring him, even though he prefers the calls to come from him. Perhaps at the end of the week.

Hoops arriving today for the raised bed so now we finally have a fine day and more to come, I'm getting busy screwing the saddle clamps into the wood. Then the plants will go in,
Temperature is set to soar to 14 degrees today. I will be positively sweltering,

We have a 60' birch tree close to our bedroom annexe hut. The recent winds have rocked it's footings. If it falls it will take the hut's foundations with it. Richie, woodland expert and top class bloke, is coming to assess it this evening then hopefully book a day to come with all his tackle and fell it.

My other granddaughter's final week at school. She's off to college in September to do a B.Tech. Mum is pushing hard for her to find part time work. Mum's pushed financially so GD needs to earn a few pennies for herself. GD doesn't sound very enthusiastic about work ! I've seen the state of her bedroom shock.

Izabella. I battle with toilet rolls too. Sorry to read you're struggling with conversation. I hope GN conversations bring you comfort and enjoyment. It takes me ages to write my comment as I have to do it very piecemeal. I'm constantly scrolling up and down.

Jax I hope those plants are all in. Love to see the photos when all done. Hope the pages in the book are flying by.

Panache. I'm glad you keep posting. We all have you in our thoughts. Taking each day as it comes and not knowing what it will bring is very stressful.

BladeAnnie. The sun will shine on Thursday. Have a safe journey up there. Looking forward to seeing your photos of the day.

N&G. I agree with your sentiments about what to tell the children. Wise and caring decision. flowers

Urms. I love reading about you popping down for a drink. I love my isolated surroundings here in Cornwall but do envy you that close proximity of the world on your doorstep.

Missing soop. Please pass on my ??and ? baggs .

Love your caring and supportive post Grandmafrench ?

Take care everyone. Hope the battles some of you have are small ones. Might pop back tonight to see how everyone has coped today.

GrannyGravy13 Wed 26-May-21 10:34:02

BladeAnnie wishing you and your soon to be husband a wonderful memorable day, congratulations to you both and safe journey ????‍❤️‍?‍??‍❤️‍?‍??‍❤️‍?‍?

Izabella Wed 26-May-21 10:09:12

Good morning from the Shire. Kate is here with me giving her usual wisdom and support so hopefully this could be a cogent post!!

BladeAnnie there is no need to apologise for bringing joy and giddiness to the kitchen Lord knows, we sometimes need it!

A huge thank you to all who sent flowers yesterday. This special corner of the 'tinternet' is supportive and healing. Thank you.

Funny how nature comes up with the goods when needed. Kate and I went out yesterday and found what seemed to be acres of bluebells. I have never seem so many massed together before. They are growing heartily and majestically - just the ticket for the soul.

Panache good to see you having the strength to post. I send warm and supportive thoughts your way. I remain in awe of your strength and fortitude.

Following the culmination of scans and much prodding, CH is now waiting for a THR. He remains in pain but makes light of it. Hopefully his knee will improve once that is done. He is a wonderful man and we are currently working ways to support him post op. Grandmafrench neither Kate nor I can remember the post, but yes we did take lots of photographs for his special birthday some time ago.

The rain has stopped and the skies clearing. We now have the buzz, clankings and other myriad sounds as the men play catch up on the land. Oh, orange drizzle on the side for all.

Awaiting the return of soop and thanks to Baggs

Puzzler61 Wed 26-May-21 09:57:38

Wishing you a safe and pleasant journey BladeAnnie.
Thinking of you ?☀️????

N&G you are wonderful grandparents to be at hand for your GC during this sad time.
Best of wishes to Izabella and Panache who are also facing uphill days. I hope today you find a little sunshine to cheer you.
Hellogirl how is Billy? Still eating you out of house and home? He’s a growing boy.

BladeAnnie Wed 26-May-21 09:41:36

Thinking of all of our kitcheners going through difficult times - so sorry if my giddiness about the wedding has made it look as though I'm not caring flowers. Mr BA has just taken Duncan to his holiday accommodation and then we are Gretna bound..... ??

NanaandGrampy Wed 26-May-21 09:35:38

Thank you everyone for your kind words.

I should say we have the two older grandchildren, its not the little boys. These 2 are 11 and 14 so it has been easier to talk . They seem remarkably resilient but I imagine seeing their Dad when we take them home tomorrow will make things more real.

NannyT you haven't picked a good time to visit our lovely county lol it has been raining cats and dogs hasn't it. And in between we've had sun and even hail !

Very best wishes BladeAnnie may your day be everything you hoped for x

Nannytopsy Wed 26-May-21 04:19:40

Best wishes for the big day BladeAnnie and for a happy future together.
? for Panache & Izabella in these difficult and heartbreaking days.
N&G sad times for you and your family.
We are having a few days in Norfolk in rather a lot of rain! The heating in our bedroom is set at 24c and we can’t get it cooler and the towel radiator in the ensuite is almost glowing. As a result, I am awake and listening to the dawn chorus. There are cuckoos here! ?
Hopefully we can get this sorted during the day.
I hope you are all sleeping peacefully!

annsixty Tue 25-May-21 23:19:45

Popping in very briefly to wish BladeAnnie and her spouse all the best wishes in the world.
The wait will have been worth it.
Best wishes to Panache and all the sad and poorly people.

Hellogirl1 Tue 25-May-21 22:59:47

BladeAnnie, all my best wishes for Thursday, hoping the sun shines down on you.
Soop, missing you, make sure that engineer gets you back with us again........and sharpish!
Galen, that`s so colourful, it`s lovely, I`m trying to work out how many hours you must have spent doing it.
Izabella and Panache, wonderful to hear from you both, but sorry to hear about all the adversity you`re going through.

Charleygirl5 Tue 25-May-21 22:39:45

BA have a wonderful day- such a pity Duncan is elsewhere but at least he is safe.

N&G the boys will understand what has happened and their other gran is now no longer in pain. Thankfully it was not long and lingering.

corner that really is a long time to wait until your washing machine can be looked at. Hopefully it is repairable.

Galen that is a beautiful colourful throw- you now need a good rest.

Galen Tue 25-May-21 22:09:50

BladeAnnie
Wishing you blessings and joy in your wedding.

BladeAnnie Tue 25-May-21 22:03:02

Thank you so much for all your good wishes xx

dustyangel Tue 25-May-21 20:37:58

Nana and Grampy you and your daughter have explained things so well to the boys. flowers for you, you too will miss your fellow gran.
Izabella I admire your philosophy, I can manage the sunshine and solace, also the bluebirds but they are not the sweet little ones of Disney films. We have azure winged magpies who beautiful, big bullies. They scare all the smaller birds away.

BladeAnnie safe journey and then have a wonderful day. Enjoy it all and if you can bring us back lots of photographs.

Fingers crossed for soop, I’m hoping
normal service is restored as soon as possible.

Puzzler61 Tue 25-May-21 20:06:26

soop words fail me that you are dis-connected/combobulated AGAIN. I can feel your fury. ?

gillgran Tue 25-May-21 20:03:58

Oh, lovely, a wedding! that's great. Very best wishes to BladeAnnie, I hope all goes well.

Puzzler61 Tue 25-May-21 20:01:46

* go with you

Puzzler61 Tue 25-May-21 20:00:59

Ahh BladeAnnie you and your Groom to be Be will be saying “I do” in such a short while now. How excited you must both be?
Duncan will be good at the cattery - he knows how important this occasion is, he is such a smart chap ?
You will most likely have everything prepared and packed, but in case you think of anything during the night have a pad and pen by the bed and you can just write anything you wake and think of - and then get back to your beauty sleep ?
God Speed! you to Gretna ??‍???‍♂️ - and my very best wishes to with you ❤️ ? ?

Grandmabatty Tue 25-May-21 19:57:23

All the best for Thursday BladeAnnie and the rest of your life together.

Urmstongran Tue 25-May-21 19:49:47

‘Evening All’.

I’ve been out for lunch with some of our book clubbers who are retired. A nice way to build a depth of friendship.

It’s turned so cold here in south Manchester. Proper chilly. I can’t believe it’s June on Tuesday.

Missing you already soop hope things get sorted soon. Best wishes BladeAnnie for Thursday. I bet after all your planning you can hardly believe it’s so close!

Wishing all on here a peaceful night ahead. Hi Doodle ?

I’m off to watch another episode of Kate Winslet in ‘Mare of Easttown’ on Sky Atlantic. I’m loving it!
