Does anyone know what Archie Harrison Mountbatten-windsor like

(226 Posts)

Or even who he looks like. I love seeing little babies grow into toddlers and seeing their resemblance to relatives emerge but so far all we know is what Archies hand looks like and the back of his head.

ExD

But she was right, Archie did have a lazy eye, lots of babies do, and it usually clears up by itself - if not it's easily corrected.
His eyes look fine now. (see pic of him with Harry posted a couple of pages back).
What was wrong in pointing it out?

FFS really ? She then went on to accuse MM of wanting to hide his imperfections because of style and image considerations - oh bloody hell it’s just been deleted .

suziewoozie Sat 08-May-21 14:48:56

They’ll be back now saying oohhh I missed it so can’t comment ??

How would you like it if some stranger picked up a picture of your grandchild and pointed out to the world that they were fat/skinny/bow-legged/spotty/had big ears/a lazy eye/etc/etc ??

I think that child will have enough to live with without people pointing out what they see as his childhood defects.

Comment deleted apparently, I've just been informed.

suziewoozie Sat 08-May-21 14:50:58

And we’ll be accused of wielding our fat reporting fingers and wanting to get posters banned and on and on and on

Amberone Sat 08-May-21 14:56:15

I think that the only way forward is that we just ignore these silly, click baity threads, started by elusive OPs.

The OP has been posting since 2019 on a variety of threads. I don't think she intended a click baity thread at all, but she may be elusive because she's been scared off by some of the comments.

Anyone who regularly reads these threads could have seen the way it would go, and maybe it wasn't the wisest of threads for someone without very thick skin to start, but then a lot of people have probably started threads they wish they hadn't over the years.

I'm finding it hard to move on from what has just happened, but trisher
I did wonder if schooling was one of the things which made Meghan want to leave. George and Charlotte will I suppose be sent to an exclusive boarding school at some point. Maybe Meghan doesn't like the upper class English attitude that your children must be got rid of and wants Archie to attend a decent day school.
Didn't Meghan herself attend a private school and say she benefitted enormously from it? So in a sense exclusive.
Also, some children are "got rid of" to boarding schools because their parents are in the armed services for example.

Ellianne I think you have summed it up perfectly. I thought the same when I saw Prince Charles's birthday message.

I thought the same Elliane what a shame that Archie is missing out time with grandparents, aunts and uncles, and cousins!

Many parents, especially Mothers, don’t like parting with their children, but do so with the view if giving them an all round good education with a love of playing sports and any other activity that you can think of.Drama and arts, chess, archery
And almost anything you can think of.Plus a sense of independence.Boarding schools today are nothing like the ones from years gone by, there are many weekend breaks, and constant communication via moblile phones and email and text.
Being ‘got rid of’ to such schools may have been the aim for a few parents in the past, but certainly not today.

I hardly believe a decent day school will be on the Duke and Duchess of Sussex list for Archies education.?

suziewoozie Sat 08-May-21 15:15:18

It wasn’t the OP that was the problem was it? It was the deleted post which most of the anti MM team found perfectly acceptable. Nothing will stop the nasty mean minded misinformed gossip and innuendo but every now and again even by the low standards on the MM threads a post will be so egregious that it will be reported and deleted.

I don’t remember any families in the armed forces ‘getting rid’ of their children to boarding school. It caused immense heartache not just for parents but also for younger siblings who often dreaded their turn to face the prospect of long separation.

Most children in boarding schools are not from military families but increasing numbers are overseas pupils.

Just come on here today and saw that a post was deleted, since I didn’t see it I can’t comment, but if it was a mean post actually aimed at the little boy then if course it was right to delete! However, it’s done now suziew so how about moving on from it ....anything more now looks like continually stirring the pot for angry responses doesn’t it?
Some of us think it was a strange photo ( when they didn’t need to release a photo, it was up to them.)
Some don’t believe that other posters should comment on it at all and try and close down all conversation. That isn’t going to happen.

Do you mean service personnel you know didn't choose a boarding school for their kids mrrlotgran?
I meant that children I knew were not "got rid of" to boarding school in that way, those were someone else's words. Children I taught in the south west were sent to boarding school while parents left for Iraq and Afghanistan.

Yes, suziewoozie, there is some truth in that and there have been big headaches for independent boarding schools sorting out their education due to covid and travel restrictions.

If you didn't see the post then you may not be aware just how bad it was and why posters from all sides of this debate were criticising it. Continuing to focus on one of those who objected is, quite frankly, a little bit suspicious.

It was a vicious post aimed at MM accusing her of something so egregious that it was deleted very quickly. As you didn’t see it, don’t be so damn entitled as to tell me to move on. It was nothing to do with the birthday photo btw so you have absolutely no idea what happened. So you should in your words move on from commenting on something you have no knowledge of .

I’m used to being singled out by posters on GN on threads where I am one of several adopting a particular position - it happens with depressing regularity and if I were a snowflake or a conspiracy theorist I might see it as a form of organised bullying. It happened yesterday on the Jersey thread. Thanks for noticing it and calling it out . But this latest attack takes the biscuit when lemon didn’t even see the deleted post. It’s laughable really isn’t it - a belief you can attack me when you haven’t a clue about what happened.

Not some truth - it is truth. ? ie what I posted was true, completely true not partly true. FGS

Toys out of the pram ??? Meghan not getting, as Harry once commented, 'what Meghan wants'.
This move to the U.S and now lack of photographs.? They wont always be able to hide their children from the public .
Children not children for long &with minds of their own.

There ARE photographs...... several posted on this thread alone!

Tedious isn’t it - just making it up as they go along, a typical post on a typical MM thread.

lemongrove Sat 08-May-21 16:06:48

It doesn’t matter what happened, it was a deleted post and time to stop going on about it and denigrating other posters.
Since you were the one harping on suziew I addressed my post to you.
