I was so saddened by the interview with harry and megan , why would two people who have got exactly what they wanted are happy to create such pain for others

Lucca Tue 18-May-21 12:21:11

But what? It’s a hideous comment.

Galaxy Tue 18-May-21 12:21:17

Yes followed by a comment that being mean and cruel is just not done. You couldn't make it up.

FannyCornforth Tue 18-May-21 12:28:09

Jabberwok

Yes it is, BUT?!!

Well, it does rather sound like a prediction of an early and unfortunate end for Harry.

FannyCornforth Tue 18-May-21 12:31:38

And it could also be read as apportioning blame upon Diana herself for her own untimely and tragic demise.

Lucca Tue 18-May-21 12:35:00

So someone you know likes to,say, go rock climbing and dies falling from a height. How do you react ? Do you sneer and say “that ended well didn’t it “

I can’t believe people think that Boz’s comment was in any way acceptable regardless of how much you disapprove of Harry’s current behaviour.

We don't know what goes on in private but thanks to H's never ending tirade of self pity, if what he says is true, it is no longer private is it.

Things that have been said on this thread with absolutely no evidence or knowledge whatsoever:

Manipulated, brainwashed and coerced

The Queen is said to be very anxious about what these two will say next

I think she thought by marrying Harry she would be able to do what she wanted without doing the work involved in being a royal.

I can't find the bit about Meghan wanting to be President but I'm sure its there somewhere.

By all means criticise what they say on TV, that you think they have too much exposure, etc. But making things up that are just speculation and are designed just to malign them and paint their poor family as martyrs is just wicked. Witch hunt.

^Yes, yes, stiff upper lip, don't you know chaps? Salute Mater and all that.^

Yes yes, some of you will end up killing yourselves but at least you won't look like softies.

^In my day we lived in a paper bag in the middle of the road. Be grateful you've got shoes, what what!^

Just plain daft.

Namsnanny Tue 18-May-21 12:47:51

Witch hunt????

Witch hunt????

So do you think Boz’s comment was just fine then ?

I'll just post this again in case you missed it.

Witch hunt: A witch-hunt is an attempt to find and punish a particular group of people who are being blamed for something, often simply because of their opinions and not because they have actually done anything wrong.

From Collins dictionary. Seems to fit.

maddyone Tue 18-May-21 13:17:19

The Queen is said to be very anxious about what these two will say next.

Well I don’t know whether the Queen is anxious or not, or whether she has been said to be anxious about what Harry and Meghan will say next, but I wouldn’t blame her if she was. Who would blame her with their track record?

Jabberwok Tue 18-May-21 13:21:24

Well, Diana did have a habit of courting the press when it suited her, and complaining about them when it didn't, inevitably courting trouble. Harry seems to have the same attitude.

Alegrias1 Tue 18-May-21 13:22:23

well I don’t know whether the Queen is anxious or not,

No, you don't do you? You are assuming she is because you are projecting your views on to her. But that won't stop anyone from saying that a man and his manipulative, wicked wife are making the Queen's life miserable. WHEN NOBODY KNOWS.

Yes, I'm shouting. And I don't really mean "you" but "certain posters" is even worse.....

Callistemon Tue 18-May-21 13:23:06

We don’t know what goes on behind closed doors in anyone’s family, do we? But we do know what Harry has chosen to speak about

That is right maddyone
But we only have Harry's version and interpretation of events.

The first law of holes comes to mind:
"When in a hole, stop digging".

Anniebach Tue 18-May-21 13:25:05

Alegrias1 why the link about Kemp? He said his father was his best friend and nothing about his grandparents so no connection with Harry’s many tv interviews .

My darling daughter took her life 3 years ago, I know the pain she endured because she shared her feelings and emotions with me.

Anniebach Tue 18-May-21 13:26:49

People tend to shout for attention , look at me, listen to me ,
Sad really.

Callistemon Tue 18-May-21 13:30:42

No, you don't do you? You are assuming she is because you are projecting your views on to her.

maddyone just said she didn't know so why are you saying/shouting that to her?

I agree, it would be strange if the Queen was not concerned, probably about Harry himself and his continual outpourings.

The link about Kemp; showing how young men today are increasingly showing tendencies that eventually lead to suicidal thoughts; that "being a man and not showing your feelings" is not healthy.

That showing people on TV who are suffering from mental problems can encourage others to share their experiences.

Posted in answer to the posters who were saying that showing all these people on TV crying was the wrong example for the youth of today. (I paraphrase)

I am sincerely sorry about your daughter Anniebach

You might have waited for my answer before throwing stones merlotgran

Too much to hope for, I expect.

Smileless2012 Tue 18-May-21 13:40:01

I haven't made anything up Alegrias. How dare you quote a post of mine followed by what others have posted, and then make an accusation of wickedness, when the only poster you have specifically named is me, and the other posts you've highlighted are not mineangry.

You don't know anymore than anyone else, so you don't know if H & M aren't making the Queen's life miserable. That said, from my own personal experience of a son turning on his family after he'd married, including both GM's, and seeing first hand how miserable he made their lives, it's a pretty safe assumption to make.

Anniebach Tue 18-May-21 13:40:43

Alegrias William and Kate do much to encourage speaking out about mental health, ‘Heads Together ‘, Harry was part of it but dropped this charity as he dropped many more when he decided he was god and set out to save the world.

Talking publicly about the nightmare that is depression is something I fully support, I do not support publicly accusing
named people for being the cause.

Smileless2012 Tue 18-May-21 13:43:46

I agree that the dictionary definition of a witch hunt seems to fit, when it comes to the way you speak of and too posters on any of these threads who don't agree with you Alegrias.
