It’s so sad that he hasn’t found contentment. I thought the idea of therapy was to be able to move on and past the old grudges.
Maybe he has had too much therapy.
Maybe he’d be better to withdraw from public life and live quietly.
I wonder if he’ll be over compensating when his own kids are growing up.

Clearly marriage / family /a new country is not giving Harry the contentment he is looking for - or the income. Needs to trade on the family he despises to do that.

I did both in my twenties .
. There are many on GN who appear to love a drink too !!

I am tee total, never done drugs, tried a cigarette when I was 11 and didn't like it. I am addicted to all things sugar based, cakes, biscuits, chocolate, sweets. Love them all. Each to his own.

Most people to a certain extent use drink and/or drugs in their lifetime and most manage to control it. However there is substantial evidence that the drug and alcohol use in the forces is usually "binge" drinking. There is also evidence that after leaving the forces people go on to self-medicate using the same substances. If Harry had a cannabis/alcohol problem in his teens allowing him to join the forces mght not have been the best decision.

Not everyone who has tried cannabis does so because they are
troubled or grieving or suffering PTSD

Afghanistan would seem o be an ideal place for anyone who was using. Does anyone seriously think that some British soldiers aren't using drink and drugs in their leisure time?
