What an exciting adventure for him, larry5 yet such a simple thing to do!

DGD had been on a bus a few days ago and described to me how much she'd been able to see compared to going in the car - it was so exciting she said.

When I grew up it was normal as we didn't have a car (I didn't tell her that).

We were travelling back on the bus one day when the little girl in front aged about 3 said are we going on an adventure nanny. Now whenever we use the bus my husband says let's go on an adventure.

That sounds like a lovely afternoon, larry5. smile One of my grandsons was just the same at that age, and still at 5 or 6 a treat for him would be a bus ride. He’d ask to go on particular routes, usually ones that went to the most boring one-horse towns, so off we’d go. We’d usually find an ice cream on sale somewhere before heading back.

Isn’t it great that we can do these simple things again?

My Gc all got excited about going on the bus or train it's lovely to see and hear them seeing the world from different angles.

I was looking after my grandson this afternoon and he was desperate to go on a bus so Dh and I who have free bus passes took him on a 40 minute bus ride to our nearest town on the top deck of the bus.

He was so excited and talked all the way there telling me what he could see from the houses and the flowers and the best thing was the ambulance - he is obsessed with emergency vehicles. It was a lovely afternoon and so wonderful to be able to do such a simple outing with him.

We exhausted him so on the way home he went to sleep leaning on me. It was lovely to have some normality coming back.
