It’s late May- and it’s cold. I haven’t yet turned my heating off it’s still on the same settings as it was in January. Anyone going by the calendar?

albertina

Just moved from Devon to Newcastle upon Tyne .....it's on !
ps it was a really good move for me

How are you finding things up here, apart from colder? I did a similar move 8years ago.

With a jumper and cardigan on I'm warm, but my feet are like ice. No heating on as the sun is shining through the back kitchen so there's enough warmth for the time being. Maybe about 8pm I'll put the heating on for a couple of hours before I go to bed, which I've been doing every night. Miserable isn't it ?

9 degrees c. here today. Thermostat stays on around 19 or 20 so yes the heat is still needed at our house!

Very cold spring so far on the west coast Canada.

Our heating is set at 20 degrees and it is coming on/off at random. Have had to turn it up to 21 degrees in the evening as it is so cold.

I don't normally feel the cold but right now I've got the heating on, only for an hour or two each evening but I can't wait for it to warm up enough so that I don't feel the need to have it on.

mokryna Sat 22-May-21 21:51:00

albertina I’m in Devon and yes, it’s freezing cold here too! ?
In the evenings We’ve had the heating on and blankets over our knees - and my husband, who for years has had an internal radiator, has actually been spotted working with his coat on!

moggie57 Sat 22-May-21 23:51:14

Its still coming onwhen needed which it is at the moment.ln saying that we have a summer duvet on but we prefer the bedroom cooler.

collins210 Sun 23-May-21 13:39:24

Ours is still on, but we were lucky enough to spend the winter in a warmer climate (South Africa), which has made us a bit 'nesh'. Outside temperature easing into double figures now, so hopefully it can soon be switched off.

Scullion52 Mon 24-May-21 06:57:55

Yes winter now 9 months

Sara1954 Mon 24-May-21 08:02:52

Still got the heating on, and last night lit a fire.

My digital thermostat decides when to switch the heating off, it's not my decision!

It's only on 19 in the day and 19.5 in the evening and the heating is still coming on.

timetogo2016 Tue 25-May-21 08:38:02

Ours is on when needed, like today,it`s bluddy freezing.

Savvy Tue 25-May-21 12:05:18

6 degrees and very fine rain here, the heating is on a thermostat and has kicked in twice already this morning. Looks like its going to be an expensive summer bill wise.

Lovetopaint037 Tue 25-May-21 12:28:28

Yes we have ours on. It comes on when the temperature drops as we use the thermostat. It’s ridiculous but expecting a really hot summer !!!

silverlining48 Tue 25-May-21 13:39:10

Just put ours on ( south east) it’s about to rain again.

janeyjane Tue 25-May-21 14:49:05

Heating has been off since the weekend & my summer duvet is now on the bed. Just use the boost button when I have a shower.

Charleygirl5 Tue 25-May-21 15:47:10

This is the first day for ages I have not switched the heating on but as it is possibly going to be as low as 3C this evening, the heating will be switched on around supper time. I do not use the thermostat, I adjust it manually.

My duvet is a 15 tog + I need a hot water bottle. I do not intend to freeze.

Puzzler61 Tue 25-May-21 20:38:57

The heating has come on since 4 pm today and if the nighttime temp is dipping to 3 deg Charley I will have a blanket on top of the duvet over my feet. I don’t have a hot water bottle or I’d probably take that to bed too.
