I’ve had both and was absolutely fine. Felt slightly off after second but certainly not ill. Please don’t worry. Everyone I know has been fine too.

How are you Nanderin?

Jaxjacky Wed 26-May-21 10:04:31

Nanderin thanks for letting us know, hopefully everything is fine.

Nanderin Wed 26-May-21 10:00:37

Hi just to let you know I have had my vaccine now.

I have Asthma and was in the middle of an Asthma problem when I had my second jab, no after effects from first or second at all, not even a sore arm.

We will all send you happy thoughts for Monday. If you are a worrier, it is hard to stop - I'm terrible with the dentist.
I had the AZ and was a bit spaced out and achy for 24hours, but I have fibromyalgia so was expecting this. DH had no reaction and didn't feel the needle either.
Both daughter's had the PZ and had a headache for a couple of hours.
Hope you have someone going along with you, but please don't be scared.

Thank you for your help you are so kind. I have just had a phone call saying it hasn't come in and it will be Monday now I am so disappointed I got myself all ready.

Nanderin Fri 21-May-21 11:32:58

Thank you everyone for being so kind. I feel a lot better about it now.

First dose of Pfizer, as good as never happened, even the jab site was unlocatable by the end of the 15 minute sitdown (and a later blood test showed I had antibodies in my body from it.). Second jab (last Saturday) is still slightly sore and has never been anything but that.

annodomini Fri 21-May-21 10:19:49

I have had both doses of the Pfizer vaccine and can honestly say that there were no after-effects at all, apart from a little tenderness for a couple of days. My sister had the 'fluey' effect from the AZ the first time round, but had no effects at all the second time. Don't worry, you'll be fine and you will be protected.

BlueBelle Fri 21-May-21 10:18:12

I m guessing you’re not in U.K. as here they are down to 38 s here and my friend of 28 has just been called in ( no underlying reasons) she was surprised
Had two AZ and only the normal feeling of a bit off bit fluey
arm not sore at all my daughter had bad upset tummy two weeks after the first but no idea if that was connected that was pfzier and can be a side effect
What ever side effects you get it’s better than dying
It’s normal fear of the unknown

Nanderin I was pretty concerned, too, as I have ME, but I had less of a reaction than my DH! - just a bit of a headache in the afternoon and washed out for a couple of days. We both had the AZ vaccine. Good luck! ?

Redhead56 Fri 21-May-21 09:45:27

I had both of mine Astra Zeneca my arm was sensitive after first one. After second one I felt I had head cold and a sore throat. I am glad to have had them it's protection after all it's better than none. I will be happy when my DS and DD and their partners have their vaccinations too. It's all very organised you will be fine Nanderin go for it.

Kate1949 Fri 21-May-21 09:43:39

I'm a total worry guts too. We've had both jabs with absolutely no adverse effects. I think most people are perfectly fine. The one or two I know who have had some effects have just had slight headaches, sore arms etc. You'll be fine and feel so much better when its done. Good luck.

Spice101 Fri 21-May-21 09:31:29

I had my first vaccination last week. Absolutely no side effects at all. Not even any soreness at the injection site.

Witzend Fri 21-May-21 08:57:46

Dh and I have had both jabs. There’s honestly nothing to it. Hardly even felt them. Just look away if you’ve got a bit of a thing about needles.

I did have rather flu-ey shivers and shakes the same night after the first, but they were gone by the morning. Nothing after the 2nd.
Dh had nothing with either.

Peasblossom Fri 21-May-21 08:24:13

I’ve had both of mine. Neither my partner nor myself had any side effects at all. I was out digging the garden the next day!

All my children and their partners have had their first vaccine. No side effects.

Millions of vaccines given now. Please don’t worry

JenniferEccles Fri 21-May-21 08:19:23

What are you afraid might happen?

Fleur20 Fri 21-May-21 08:13:21

Pfizer jav..no reaction to first... felt like a marble under the skin for 24 hours after second.. no other effect. Explain your concerns at the centre and the staff will look after you well.

JaneJudge Fri 21-May-21 07:57:04

I reacted to my first one but I also think I had Covid last February BUT the reaction only lasted 2 days and I felt fine after that. I have had to rearrange my 2nd one for Monday so I have cancelled all my commitments just in case but I'm hoping it's not as bad! I hope it goes well today

seacliff Fri 21-May-21 07:54:36

Have paracetamol or cold remedy tablets ready for first night if you're feeling a bit "strange". My husband had flu like symptoms first time after az. I had Pfizer all fine.

ginny Fri 21-May-21 07:52:42

Nanderin my eldest daughter has a phobia about needles . She went for her first jab yesterday and was extremely stressed on the way there. She explained to the helpers and everyone was so kind and did their best to calm her.
I’m sure you will find the same.

silverlining48 Fri 21-May-21 07:52:40

Good morning world we are just waking up here in the uk,
I was so excited when I had my vaccines )AZ) and had no problem at all. Thing is what is worse? a sore arm or intensive care. Don’t worry be happy ?

nanna8 Fri 21-May-21 07:38:37

Just had the flu one and they whacked in a new pneumonia one at the same time on the other arm. So far so good. Sheez. Ive had more vaccinations this year than for a long while. Also the shingles one a couple of months back. Good thing is, they were all free.

Oldwoman70 Fri 21-May-21 07:37:42

I have had both mine. The first a slight headache and sore arm for a couple of days, second just a sore arm - try not to worry.
