Mine = pair of Levis bought in 1981, can still (just about) get in them.

My Mum's Health & Beauty tights! (No idea of their provenance but possibly 40/50 years old and still going strong).

A beautiful maternity jacket, bought in 1977. The colours are beautiful and I still get people commenting on it.

A now rather faded half zip Benetton sweatshirt that my daughter cast off thirty three years ago. I “rescued” it and still wear it. It has worn remarkably well, whereas I haven’t!

Yep, I've a trusty Mac of 50 years which I wear comparatively regularly and some red boots bought in Canada 30 years ago. I've also an ancient dressing gown which I wear in the warmer months. I'm sure I've many other bits and bobs but they don't spring to mind right now.

Mine is relatively young - a blue linen jumper from Ms with 1997 on label. It's in pretty good condition, washes well and was worn yesterday. I have a blue velvet jacket from 1978 but alas it no longer fits properly.

I worked for the police in traffic I gave my uniform back apart from a fleecy gilet. I still wear it when it's freezing cold under my coat I was issued it in 1978.

A black Mary Quant camisole with a pearl decoration on the top. I still wear it occasionally under semi sheer Summer tops. I think I bought it in the 70s. It must be good quality because it's not even faded.

A heavy suede/ sheepskin lined winter coat, with hood, that I've made a couple of attempts to dump, but-----I haven't come across its like. It's nigh-on 40 years old grin but still keeps out the cold and wet.
I'm beginning to feel like Colombo in it but I'm past caring the older I've got.

It could well be the death knell for it when I attempt to wash it when/ if we get any hot weather so we'll see if it disintegrates, or maybe not.

A sweatshirt bought in San Francisco in 1990, although I admit I only wear it when working around the house!

My M&S work dresses. Comfy, flattering and not old ladyish at all. 12 years old. My favourite one is starting to get holes in it and I STILL wear it.

I inherited a beautiful cashmere cardigan that belonged to my brother in law’s elderly aunt, I have had had it for fifteen years and that was sometime after the aunt died after a long illness. The colour is beautiful still. Good Scottish makers!

A pair of DMs - about 25 years old.

T-shirt my mum bought me in Florida which is at least 15 years old

Think my Levi 501s are about the same age as yours Artaylar.
They’re size 10, sadly I’m not now! Can’t bring myself to part with them.

MerylStreep Fri 21-May-21 14:09:21

My 2 Guernsey jumpers. The navy’classic’ one is over 40 years old, the other ‘tan’ coloured is 30 years old.

A white/pink light dressing gown which I still wear and was bought for hospital birth of daughter over 35 years ago. Too sentimental to get rid!

A kilt bought before I became pregnant with son number one who will be 46 in August. I still wear it as it does not date and is very good quality.

A traditional Shetland wool jacket that husband bought back for me in late 70’s. He had one as well but lost it!

An ancient Damart white cotton cardigan given to me by an aunt about thirty years ago, I really didn't like it, but thought it might be a useful bed jacket. I'm wearing it,sitting up in bed now writing this! grin

A red and white Masai summer dress. Probably 20 years old.

Oh my, this thread is so heartwarming! My oldest item of clothing is only 15 years old, it's a cotton jacket and it's timeless. However, as a keen dress maker and crafter I reuse garments to repurpose into other items in an attempt to reduce the amount of discarded clothing going into landfill.
It's wonderful to read that some GNetters have favourite garments from many years ago.

Smart jacket style, red wool Cardigan By Your 6th Sense from good old C & A, in the 70s. I bought it large luckily, now just fits with thin top under. Still get compliments when I wear it.

Classic fine cotton red striped three quarter sleeve Breton top bought in the 70s in Brittany.
It comes out every summer without fail.

A long dark blue cardigan made of sweat shirt material. Approx 30 years old from C&A and still perfect condition. Yesterday evening I went back outside to give my windowsills a second coat of paint and forgot to remove it.

I realised this morning there was a streak of paint on it. I couldn’t have been more upset if it had been a new expensive item. I set about the 12 hours old paint stain with a nail brush and fairy liquid and was delighted to see my cardi as good as new again.
