Good morning all from a chilly, but sunny Glasgow. Its such a pleasure to read the upbeat posts this morning.
I too, am the someone, who only buys papers at the weekend, I usually settle down in the conservatory with James Martin, the papers, a cuppa and a treat. (Probably chocolate)
Yesterday, we were on tenterhooks to see if we were going back into Level 2. The Scottish Government, showed some common sense by looking beyond the high numbers in our very small LA. Apparently, as thought, it is a small number of East Renfrewshire families, who have been mixing with infected Glasgow families. We have a reprieve!
Consequently, we are off to DS2's for lunch, I'm so excited! DD and SIL are coming too. It will be the first time we have all been together, since last year and the first time in someone else's home for well over a year.
To that end, we did home Covid tests last night. As a shielder, I have to do them on a regular basis. That is a saga, I will not bore you with. It's a surprise I'm not in court for murder this morning. Why do men never read, nor listen properly to instructions????? #exasperatedof Glasgow.
I have offered to drive, as I won't be drinking, but may have a glass of Nosecco to be sociable! ?
My main difficulty will be removing Dollie's car seat from my car, to make room. I'm too nervous to drive DH's beast of a car, its the lack of handbrake which puts me off. ( and DH monitoring every manoeuvre) ?
For the first time in over a year, (apart from DD's wedding, I'm going to put on my glad rags and wear ĹIPSTICK, vanity indeed!!!?
However, I'm not sure if I'm happy to give DD a lift. She is seriously in the bad books. Yesterday, she went home with our front door key and only realised later, as did we, when we found ourselves locked in! ? I always frisk her before she leaves ?, but I was lying down, feeling a bit under the weather. She often forgets things, like her purse, phone etc., so I usually check with her, as she is leaving. ( She has dyslexia and is seriously disorganised). This was a first even for her!
No problem, I smugly thought, we have spares. Always the organised teacher, I have a bunch of labelled spare keys, for the children's homes, the neighbours and our church. Unfortunately, I forgot that we had to replace the front door lock during lockdown. More a matter of locked in, than locked down., the keys labelled, spare front door key, were in fact for the old lock. My DD is for it when I see her today! ?
Keeping Gandmajet in my thoughts and all our other dear friends, who are struggling. Happy Saturday, everyone!
