A long way from the start - how far away from your birth town do you live ?

I was reading on Facebook that approximately 70% of people live within 30 miles of where they were born when they become adults. I am not sure about this. I worked out that I live approximately 10,525 miles away. I don’t know that many here who stayed near their original hometowns.
What about you ?

I have never left my hometown. I could stand on the roof of my house and see the other three houses I have lived in, if I had a telescope.

Didn't want to leave my mum, now don't want to leave my daughter and grandkids. Other daughter and grandchildren are 4,000 miles away.

360 miles - moved south from place of birth when I was 6 weeks old, then north again, then west!

Google maps tell me it’s 490 miles. Born in Woking, Surrey, have lived in sunny NI for 30 years.

Born in Weymouth, Dorset (Mums home town) and lived there till the age of 2. Moved to Preston, Lancashire (Dad’s home town) till the age of 9. Moved back to Weymouth cos Mum wasn’t happy and lived there till the age of 22 when my husband’s work meant we moved to Oxfordshire. Stayed there till we both retired when we moved back to Weymouth 3 years ago. We think we’re very lucky to live here again, it’s like being on permanent holiday now we can do what we like when we like. Only drawback is being so far from children and grandchildren who are in Oxfordshire and Cambridgeshire.

Well I started up north and I married a soldier so I definitely moved from my home town. I’ve lived overseas and around the country. When divorced I stayed in york but both my lads met women from different parts of country. My oldest met his in army so he’s also here and they. My youngest met someone up north lol. Since covid I’ve decided to move back up north and at present that’s what I’m looking to do.
