Good Morning Everyone,
Its looking grey at the moment but its dry this morning in Brackley.
Today , rest day as to cycling , watching yesterdays shortened stage in the Dolomites due to heavy rain , somewhat changed the amount of live broadcasting as they rely on an aircraft plus helicopter to beam signals , as it was very low cloud made impossible to see whole race .
Anyway, my usual trip to Bicester this morning for an hour to break things up , also with some bus routes not running there regular timetables gives limitations as to time .
Take care,
Mick

Oh Auntieflo sorry to read you’re so down, I wish I could magic it differently ?
And Cherry your fortitude is amazing. Hoping Marydoll is having a resting day ?

Gwenisgreat1 Tue 25-May-21 13:45:10

Oh Auntie Flo I'm sorry you are feeling down, and Cherry does CBD oil help with epilepsy?
Hope your relative improves soon Blossoming

Good morning, Mick and All from a cool greyish Carlisle where showers are threatening. No, actually starting! That may well mean no lawn mowing this afternoon.
A quiet morning so far pottering about with gentle housework and admin. I plan a foray into town tomorrow on another spending spree...it's time I bought some lampshades before I cease to notice there aren't any. In a previous house, one bulb remained bare for 26 years though it was over the back stairs.
I managed to unpack some boxes of books yesterday, my friends, and instal them in some small bookcases in my office. There's a lot still to go...
Thoughts with all of you struggling and unwell and hoping there are better times ahead.

Good Morning All x
Quite blustery with the sun occasionally coming out. Keeping my eye on a bit of washing I put out first thing as once that wind drops it'll rain for sure. I'll be glad to see the back of this month !.

After my unknown phone call yesterday morning, I had 2 more during the course of the day and looked it up. As usual it was a scam saying they were from Scottish Power. Scam particulars were on the internet but anyone who isn't fully aware could get fleeced. Rotten individuals.

I need to go to the bank at some point as not having cash in my purse is driving me mad. If I ever want a taxi I'm snookered. Ever since the post office closed down last year I've felt lost as there are times when you do need cash.
Just remembered, my bank is closed on a Tuesday ( rolls eyes )
Ah well, I'll go Thursday seeing that I have my INR then and the bus stop is over the road from the surgery, so that's that.

Hoping Marydoll feels a bit brighter today and all you other grans who aren't feeling too clever with one thing and another, also Grandmajet and her post-op. flowers

Must be getting on with something else seeing as the sun's out again with no worry about the washing blowing merrily.

Kind thoughts to everyone who'll be out and about and a safe journey for Ashcombe as she returns home.
Stay safe and take care all of you .xx

Good morning from West Sussex. Weather looking a bit brighter though still plenty of grey clouds.

I had a lovely time yesterday - saw Nomadland at the cinema, had several cups of tea with my friend after and went to the Oxfam bookshop to check they are accepting donations and they are, so my decluttering can continue (I’m afraid I did have to look at their current stock and was fatally tempted by two lovely picture books and Oliver Sacks’ autobiography which I have wanted to read for ages). Nomadland was beautifully filmed and acted and definitely worth seeing on a big screen.

Thoughts with Auntieflo, Marydoll, Blossomig, Cherry and those who haven’t felt able to post recently ???

brook2704 Tue 25-May-21 11:34:25

Sorry to hear you’re feeling so sad today Auntieflo if it helps, please come back here for support and kindness
Also blossoming I hope your relative improves soon, it doesn’t matter at all if you don’t feel like chatting but thanks for popping in to say hello
Thinking of marydoll too ?

Good Morning from an overcast Worcestershire. Son is ill in bed with a shocking cold and hacking cough. Hubby has gone off to work as a volunteer signalman on our local steam railway and I am just going to sit here and do some cross stitch I think (in between tending to son in his sick bed).

12Michael, we are heading nearby to Brackley on our hols for a week from Saturday as its half term for son. We have booked a lovely little cottage and have booked to visit Bletchley Park, Museum of computing and Silverstone so far. Just hope weather improves and son gets better so we can enjoy it.

Hope everyone has a good Tuesday.

Blossoming and Auntieflo, big hugs ? and ????????from me x

CherryCezzy Tue 25-May-21 10:42:17

Good morning everyone. Mixture of blue sky and cloud in the Gower this morning.

I had another bad night, grr! Another bad seizure ?. Very woolly headed but then there's lots of wool in Wales ?. Kitchen and wet room ^almost finished, hurrah! Lots of noisy drilling this morning though, which I could do without - all I want to do is go back to sleep ☹️.

Have a safe trip home Ashcombe. Thinking of grandmajet and hoping her recovery is going well ?
Thinking also of our missing posters, including Bellasnana, Pantglas, Taichinan and our gillybob.

Big thank you to all the goodmorningers who have been very kind in their well wishes for me flowers

A #lazyday for me today. Take care everyone, I hope each of you find someone to ? about today ❤️

Auntieflo Tue 25-May-21 10:31:21

Morning Mick, Annie and all. Not much good about it.
I feel horrid, and could have sat and cried this morning.
So, all the best to all of us who are struggling. Sorry

hollysteers Tue 25-May-21 10:30:52

Good morning Mick and all from a brightening northwest Lancashire coast. Zoom meeting with financial advisor today and DS joining me for that.
Will hobble about on my sore twisted knee, put a support on it.
Wrote postcards yesterday even though I had only been on a day trip, I enjoy sending them, even more than the telephone, it’s a nice old fashioned way to keep in touch.
Going on another tomorrow GW, so an earlyish night for me tonight and leave DS to do his usual late nighter.
Thoughts to Cherry Grandmajet Auntieflo and anyone else with worries.

Good morning all, I have not been posting in the GM thread. A much loved member of my family is in hospital and I’m finding it hard to chat. Happy Tuesday all ?

Nannagarra Tue 25-May-21 10:17:30

Good morning from the Sefton coast where it is sunny but gusty.
Had a lovely day shopping yesterday - retail therapy works wonders for me. Today I’ll be tending to seeds and seedlings then picking up DGD from school. We may well be blown home!
Thinking of grandmajet. Just in case one doesn’t pass by, enjoy the pic.

Gwenisgreat1 Tue 25-May-21 10:15:38

Good morning all from dreary but dry Harrogate
We have the electrician in today sorting some of our electrics which in the past have been a DIY job as have lots of things in this house.
this week is all about catching up on what couldn’t be done for COVID.
Hope you feel better todayMarydoll missed your nouvella yesterday.
You sound like me grandmattie I’m stiff and wary with steps. My legs never really recovered from being shoved onto the cobbles in York!
A bit more telephoning this pm. Hoping if there’s time to go for a run in the car before lunch
Hoping everyone has the best day they can today.

gillgran Tue 25-May-21 09:47:15

Good Morning to you all, from an overcast Cambs.,

I've had no internet from late Saturday-to- Monday, as that's the only downside of being at our little home-from-home on the NW Norfolk coast.
I was thrilled to see the first blooms of the rhododendrons as we travelled past Sandringham.

Safe journey home Ashcombe.

Good to hear of lots of outings for many of you.

Take Care, especially those with extra worries & woes. flowers

Sar53 Tue 25-May-21 09:41:28

A late good morning from Essex by the sea. The sun is doing it's best to shine but then it clouds over again. We finally turned the heating off last night, it's usually off sometime in April.
I am another who struggles with going by train. DD1 lives in the Midlands which means two trains and the tube. It's the up and down stairs and escalators with a suitcase that I find more of a problem now that I am older.
DH has gone to help a friend move his boat from one mooring to another. I have just washed all the hard floors and I have a fruit cake in the oven.
Enjoy Tuesday, safe journey to all who are travelling today and look for that ? xx

grandMattie Tue 25-May-21 09:39:38

Thank you all for your kind advice re. railway station. I shall hold my ground and go at my speed...

Good morning Auntyflo and all x

Greyduster Tue 25-May-21 09:11:51

Good morning, Michael and all GNs. A very late awakening for us this morning - we both slept in! It’s cool and breezy in South Yorkshire and rain is expected I think. Not a lot on the agenda today. My hip is killing me.
B9 the only thing I know about Newent is that it is the home of the National Birds of Prey Centre. We went there years ago when the legendary Jemima Parry Jones had it and it was wonderful. DS went more recently and also said it was a wonderful day out.
Have a good day, all. Hope someone has some sunshine somewhere!

GrannySomerset Tue 25-May-21 09:10:37

Currently bright sunshine and very windy but bet by the time the washing machine is finished it won’t be safe to hang out the bedding.

Goodness, Ashcombe, you are so much braver than I am. Hope your journey home is safe and you are not exhausted by it. Sounds as if it was all worth it. Hope Marydoll is feeling better and that our various posters with health problems, their own and loved ones’, have a good day.

Other than laundry and quite a lot of admin nothing planned though DH will need a little walk if it stays dry.
