Thanks for your thoughts gwenisgreat, Urms and grandmafrench re our holiday cottage.

I will phone them tonight and say they are welcome to go there but we will let them have a week on their own. It’s then up to them to sort out travel etc.

I feel better now ? as I didn’t want to refuse them.

DH is improving slowly after his op. One down side of his recovery - the amount of tv he’s watching. Opal hunters, gold miners, SWAT teams, Chinese movies, Chateau DIY, Storage wars, salvage hunters, Good Morning , Jackie Chan. When he is at work (night shift) , the tv isn’t on! On the plus side, I get to cook more. Even made banana bread the other day as a special request! Having survived spending lockdowns 24/7 and post-op recovery, retirement together will be a breeze! At least we should be able to go out for some lunch, days out etc.

I was up fairly early but had a few calls to make. I spent much of yesterday finding contacts for the help we need with the house build. I have 3 people interested so wanted to have a quick chat on the phone this morning before they came to see the work. One sounds perfect. He comes tomorrow.

Also got into reading a couple of other threads before this one. So I'll be back to catch up on your news soon.

It's dry today in Cornwall. - well - so far. So much rain yesterday!

Not a cloud in the sky at 06.30 this morning----so what did I start doing ? Cleaned the windows
Needless to say an hour later it clouded over and has been like it ever since.

It's not often I dream---or if I do, then can't remember but last night's was vivid. I met a chap ( didn't know him ) but remember him in a dream a long time ago. He even told me it must be 20 years since he last saw me. ?! A nice chap whoever it is How peculiar.

Breakfasted and now waiting for 11's's, coffee and biscs.
Found a box of fish fingers in the freezer---didn't know I had them so " butties" later.

Sorry to hear Marydoll isn't too grand and not up to posting. Only rest is the cure.
Glad that Ashcombe arrived home safely too. That's some journey !

My face looks like a well smacked behind with sitting out in the sun yesterday. It was 6pm again before us neighbours retreated indoors. Lovely being outside though.

Had another harassing phone-call earlier but didn't answer it. Hundreds have had the same call re. "Scottish Power" and other areas of the scam, absolute pests.

I must crack on and get my coffee then whip around the bathroom and kitchen with the Zoflora.

Cornergran can you not find an alternative engineer to mend your washing machine?The answer to your nepher and his wife wanting your holiday cottage is simple Gingster - say yes, but you will need a car and give them the details of a local car hire company?
Another attempt at putting a photo of DGD in the dress I bought from the charity shop - she was thrilled with it!

Good morning Michael and all GNs. It’s grey and cool in South Yorkshire and DH tells me it has just started to rain! What???‍♀️ We were supposed to be going out for a drive today to scope out the venue for a wedding we are going to soon, and see how long the journey takes us as it’s out in the sticks, and then have a walk! C’mon weather! Get your act together.

I got to your post Gingster and immediately thought ‘suggest they hire a car’ as that overall would not be too expensive for a holiday week in a cottage in Norfolk , then further down saw exactly that suggestion from GrandmaFrench. Great minds think alike .... or is it fools seldom differ?

We are off back home today ourselves shortly, have to pack up. Good news text from DS1 in Scotland, wants to come down from Scotland for Father's Day weekend, Yippee! It has been so very long!
