Its a nice blue sky start here in Brackley this morning , plans for the day , my usual trip to Bicester for an hour .
I will then return to watch the Giro unfold today .
otherwise a quite day in .
Take Care,
Mick
Why does the smile keep coming up as a grimace ?
Good morning. It was a sunny start here but now a little overcast.
I’m feeling a bit washed out after yesterday. As our day at the races was cancelled we decided to head to an out of town retail park near to York. I bought shoes and a top. We had a lovely lunch at Prezzo. There were so many roadworks though the journey seemed to take forever.
Congratulations on your lovely news grandmabatty a new baby on the way .
Best wishes to bladeannie have a fab day.
Also good wishes to anyone suffering. Take care all.
Another much later good morning from S Lanarkshire, I’m so impressed baubles that you are organised enough to post before you set off on your long journey!
Congratulations Grandmabatty, and good health to your DD, happy news.
The chap who is going to build my garden room has sent a message saying he will come today at lunchtime to discuss the arrangements for starting the work. Having had so many letdowns along the way (not him) I am excited but wary, please let him turn up!
It’s made me think of Taichenan who encouraged me when I talked about planning this at the beginning. I hope she is well.
Best wishes to everyone for a good day; especially those who are feeling unwell ?
Good morning from sunny Shropshire.
We have steps at the end of the garden to a decking area and five years ago, in anticipation of DGD starting to walk we bought a gate for safety as the steps are deep.Well yesterday we put the gate up?Henry is the most adventurous/reckless of our three grandchildren so am feeling much happier knowing the garden is now as safe as we can make it.
Today is a Henry day then school pick up for DGD.
Hoping Mary and Cherry are feeeling better?
Sending all best wishes to BladeAnnie and Mr B today.
Have a good day all??
Congratulations grandmabatty??
Good morning from sunny ?? N Bucks! What a (nice) change!
Enjoyed my Brasserie Blanc lunch with friends yesterday - I had a £20 voucher plus a code for a free glass of Prosecco each for my birthday (back in March) so we did rather well out of it.
Coffee out with a friend this morning - two outings in as many days, oh if only life were really getting back to normal!
Warm wishes to all who may be under the weather and congratulations ?? to those with good news.
Wishing you all a pleasant day.
Good morning Mick and all from a sunny S Hants. Congratulations Grandmabatty, lovely news for you all. Best wishes to BladeAnnie and her soon to be DH.
The garden was planted out yesterday and we’re very pleased, looking forward to it ‘maturing’. I finished my book club book at 11pm yesterday, phew, zoom to discuss at lunchtime. Then Mr J and I are off out for a late lunch as he’s not working today, trying a new to us place in the countryside.
Hoping Marydoll is improving today, similarly grandmajet recovering. harrigran is there no:way to get cover for a couple of hours so you can go out? Looking after you is important too. ?
Have a lovely day those who can ???
Good morning Michael and all GNs. The sun is out and very welcome in South Yorkshire. Here’s hoping it’s the start of our summer! Yesterday was unbelievably wet. We are going out today for the drive and walk we should have had yesterday if the forecasters had got it right. Better late than never!
Congratulations to BladeAnnie on your wedding day! ??
Have a happy day everyone and keep smiling!
Good morning from a cloudy Scarborough. Yesterday was more like winter with a cold wind a low cloud. I’m sure that there is a lovely view from Whitby Abbey but we didn’t see it for mist. When we got back to the campsite the wind had pulled on the awning and torn it where it was pegged down. Hopefully I can see it when we get home.
Not sure what today holds as the mysterious pain in my back gave me grief last night. Walking makes it worse so our planned hike to Filey is off.
Thinking of those with far worse problems. Take care and stay safe everyone ???
Good morning all from the Scottish Borders where it may get warm later. I had very little sleep so will be good for nothing today.
Lovely news and I hope DD's sickness stops soon Grandmabatty.
Have a great day BladeAnnie
Sorry for you Harrigran
Exciting day for you Dragonfly
I am glad it is next week when I go away. I can just imagine what it's like out there now Gelisajams
I'll try to get some peat-free growbags for my cucumbers and lettuces today and reply to a list of emails.
Hope those who have been poorly are on the mend.
Good morning all. Bright sunshine in Cheshire this morning. How lovelyGrandmabatty -you must be thrilled.
I will come back later and read the rest of the posts. Wishing the best day possible for all you kind and caring people.
Good a morning everyone! No need to thank me ?????? I know how desperate (and deserving) you all are of some warmth and blue skies, so I posted loads off to you. We have plenty to spare and just hope everyone gets their share today. It makes such a difference to the tone of this thread!
Happy Wedding Day, BladeAnnie, congrats on your family baby news, GrandmaB. We’re all excited for you.
You’re so lucky to have such a lovely BiL, harri. I bet he’d sit for your DH to allow you to have a trip out - with your Sister, maybe? Please just sometimes think of yourself ?
Enjoy your days today, everyone, especially if you’re on a trip somewhere. I’m doing a corner - shall be in the ? garden enjoying every minute!
Have a happy day, lovely Good Morningers. So pleased you resolved your concerns, Gingster.
To all feeling low, worried or unwell, hope today’s a better one but not quite as good as tomorrow or the much better days to come. ?. Stay safe!
Hugs from France ?? x
Good morning Mick and all, it's quite dull here in bp auckland. I was hoping to get the grass cut today but looking at the weather I don't think I will. Hope everyone has a good day
Good morning from sunny Colchester. Washing on the line and another load in the machine.
Into town for a few bits this morning. It's a 5 minute walk through the park to the High Street, so I'm grateful that the Covid restrictions have stopped me from spending too much time and money!!
Aldi this afternoon to stock up for the Bank Holiday weekend. DS will be home and we are expecting visitors.
I can't keep up with everyone like some can, so I send an all embracing hug of comfort and joy x ?
Good morning Auntyflo and all x
Good morning all from an overcast chilly start on the east coast of Fife. I’m not in a hurry to start my day but there’s himself off food shopping already he’s dead kean he’s taking me to the gp later on to get my shingles jag gosh I’ve given my age away
fingers crossed the warm weather will return as it did yesterday afternoon and early evening. Why oh why does Alexa not respond to me shouting be quiet
Thinking of those who are feeling down today for whatever reason virtual hugs going free
good things are on the horizon hang in there.
Good morning everyone, ? and nothing but blue sky ? here in the Gower.
I've had far too many seizures over the last few days and missed you lovely people yesterday ☹️ but I didn't have one last night and slept well, hurrah! ?
I'm assured ? that my kitchen will be finished today put the flags out. It is quite possible I suppose because then the workmen would more than likely have an extra day off to enjoy the bank holiday weekend. If it is complete can you all guess what I'll be doing all weekend - working my way through a mountain of washing the size of Snowdon ?
It sounds like you're up to your eyes with the decorators Alygran, I bet it'll be fabulous when it's finished, and oh Pittcity it sounds like your house is coming along nicely ?
Happy belated birthday GrandmaJean, I hope you had a wonderful day ??
I'm glad your DH is recovering, albeit slowly, from his op' Borrheid and I hope grandmajet is recovering from hers.
I hope your phonecall from the hospital went well Urmstongran and your DH's chemo did too harrigran ?
Marydoll, I hope you are feeling so much better today
Thank you Susan, Dwmxwg, holly, Litterpicker, gillgran, Jax, dragonfly, GrannySomerset and Nannagarra (I really appreciated the big bear hug ?) for your very kind thoughts x
Gwen, in answer to your question on CBD oil - no it doesn't help with seizures, not the oil you can buy from places like Holland and Barratt anyway. It really has to be medical grade for it to work.
Hope each of you finds some ? in your hearts today and ? along the way. Be kind to yourselves everyone ❤️
Another lovely morning when I have a Zoom U3A book group (Richard Osman’s overhyped thriller - not enough to talk about) and then another rummage in the weeds. Find that I can’t do long sessions any more if I am to be able to move later, so at least now the weather has improved can do several short ones.
Hope Marydoll is feeling better and that BladeAnnie has a magical day, and that the rest of us can muddle through in a satisfactory way.
Good morning from a bright Yorkshire .I posted yesterday but it disappeared?Hope you had a good birthday* Grandmajean* Congratulations on your news Grandmabatty.Glad to hear you had a better night Cherry .* Auntieflo&*Marydoll hope you feeling better .* Harrigran*if I lived near you I would sit and chat to your oh while you had a break I used to sit with oh of neighbour while she had a break .?A friends sil has tested positive for covi d he has had both jabs last one a month ago so shows we still have to be careful he works from home and does not mix much outside .Take care everyone ?
Good morning everyone from a very bright and sunny ?Northampton. The towels are in the washing machine and I shall enjoy seeing them dry on the line later.
Now that the weather is set to be dry I can at last spray the weeds on the driveway and patio. I reckon they will need a few treatments.
I did another health walk yesterday around our local forest, 3 miles and over 7,500 steps according to one walker. We then repaired to the garden centre cafe for a well earned coffee. I am doing an evening walk later today and as it starts and finishes at a pub we have decided to have a drink and a meal afterwards. My first pub visit for nearly 18 months! Oh the excitement!
Sainsbury's delivering before lunch so I had better get my skates on.
Hope BladeAnnie has a wonderful day.
Good wishes to all ☺.
Greetings all, SW Herts is bathed in sunshine, how lovely.
We arrived back from Gloucestershire to cook DD and DGC's evening meal and take DD to ballet. DD likes me to cook at Hello Fresh meal she has ordered, which the GC then barely pick at! DGD wasn't well, so no ballet, had to pack up and go after the meal.
Bit cross that I seem to have left one of our forks in the hotel, I had taken them so we could finish off the home made cake I took with us. Silly to take them, they were a couple of the remaining cutlery set my late parents bought us from John Lewis 48 years ago, so a bit special, and although I will ring the hotel, they will just have been thrown in with all the rest of the hotel cutlery.
Let's hope everyone can get outside today, sunshine does lift the spirits. Great news GrandmaBatty A lovely early Christmas present.
Good morning all from grey Harrogate
Had a lousy night last night this morning have and appointment at the hospital for ‘girlie problems’ Sainsburies delivery ? this pm so not
much chance of a snooze!!
Good news grandmabatty
I’ll have another look at the posts while waiting for my appointment
Good morning from the Scottish Borders. Dry so far. I do believe summer is on the way. Just made flapjacks with Ddog's assistance (he hovers in hope of crumbs). Stripped bed linen and wash on. While in kitchen saw two goldfinch about five foot away on the decking. Stood and stared. Such a lovely start to the day. Magazine has arrived so will enjoy that while listening to radio four. My best wishes to all of you.
