Congratulations to Boris and Carrie who got married today in Westminster Catholic Cathedral. Just that really. I love weddings, doesn't matter who the couple are, I always hope it works out happily.

I wasn't aware that he was a Catholic either.

Baggs Sat 29-May-21 21:42:15

I'm disgusted that this serial adulterer could marry in any church, but in the Catholic Cathedral, well,it's just shameful. angry

Deedaa Sat 29-May-21 21:50:44

33 year old woman marries serial adulterer more than 20 years older than her. What could possibly go wrong? I wonder how he will finance this divorce -he'll have the child to support as well.

Whole thing sounds very fishy. Westminster cathedral seems way over the top. I would have thought a quiet civil wedding would have been more appropriate. Can't help thinking Carrie's got a lot of romantic ideas that he's never going to live up to.

Carrie is a Catholic and Wilfred was christened there.

Boris was raised a Catholic but he married his previous 2 wives in non Catholic ceremonies and therefore, in Catholic eyes, he hasn’t been married before so this is his first wedding.

Whitewavemark2 Sat 29-May-21 21:57:49

What a fiasco.

Now there is an empty space for the next mistress.

NotSpaghetti Sat 29-May-21 22:00:19

My understanding too Lucylocket.
He was christened a Catholic and the Anglican marriages won't count.

Whitewavemark2 Sat 29-May-21 22:01:43

Actually I don’t believe it. It is too ridiculous to be true.

Well, that's very convenient!

Isn't it time the Catholic Church updated?

Callistemon Sat 29-May-21 22:02:53

Can we have Public Holiday?
This Monday perhaps?

When you marry your mistress, you create a job vacancy. hmm Seems a convenient distract to change the narrative imo

The BBC have it. Well, I think it's great news. Good luck to the pair of them - and Wilfred.

I spotted it on Twitter, but Google confirms www.thesun.co.uk/news/15108452/boris-johnson-marries-carrie-symonds-westminster/

Interesting. The Sun's video shows Westminster Abbey, not the RC cathedral.

Dinahmo Sat 29-May-21 22:27:57

Kali2

are they both Catholic?

Is either Catholic?

BlueBelle Sat 29-May-21 22:30:34

?

Callistemon Sat 29-May-21 22:36:47

Oh, come on, Bluebelle, I've just declared Monday as a Public Holiday!! Cheer up!

JenniferEccles Sat 29-May-21 22:44:27

In addition today is something called Royal Oak Day according to another thread!
Congratulations to them both.

Lucca Sat 29-May-21 22:44:53

As Lauren would have said “am I bovvered ?”

Deedaa Sat 29-May-21 22:46:59

When we considered sending GS1 to a catholic school there were so many hoops to jump through that we didn't bother. Apparently the church doesn't worry so much about people who want to marry. Has anyone seen either of them inside a church apart from official occasions?

Polarbear2 Sat 29-May-21 22:52:45

I join bluebell in saying ?
