Good Morning Everyone,
Its a cloudy but dry start here in Brackley this morning.
Today will be spent with housework after breakfast, a small shop , and then maybe a coffee break .
And the afternoon watching a cycle race on TV from France.
Take Care,
Mick

Good morning everyone from a grey Northampton, where the ? is yet to make an appearance.

Had a lovely day yesterday visiting DS and family for the first time for nearly 18 months. My goodness, how the DGDs had grown, both as tall or taller than me! They took me on a tour of the house to show me all the new things that had been done. A very pleasant afternoon was spent in their garden chatting and enjoying a barbecue and fizz until DS and dog walked me home in the evening.

The only firm p!an for today is to cut the front grass. And then hopefully sit out and read.

Hope all have a pleasant day.

Morning all from a Black country, overcast at the moment but hopefully it will clear.
DH finished painting and repairing garden fence so will see what he wants to do once he's up.
Had a nice surprise yesterday a parcel arrived with a digital radio in, it was a prize from one of the competitions I'd entered.
Will read through all everyone's happenings later tummy rumbling so breakfast is calling.
Have good day.

Good morning from sunny Colchester.
Nothing on the calendar today.

Morning Mick and All.

Grey sky but should be warming up in about an hour or so. Here in South Bucks.

Did you know grandMattie that housework is banned on a Bank Holiday Monday ? ?

Had a lovely couple of chaotic fun days with the grandchildren who left yesterday after a two night stay. I realised what I had missed over this last year. I’m still picking up Cocopops from the floor.

Sorry to hear dear Mary about your distressing pain, so wearing. On a much lesser level I have found online YouTube some short massage sessions for my arthritic hands and which have definitely loosened up my fingers and joints. ??

Have the best day you can Folks.

Good morning from the beautiful Devon coast which has been packed with families this weekend. Lovely to see.
The only downside is our ambulance service is now in critical incident due to the overload. Stay safe everyone, not just from covid.

Good morning from a lovely sunny Essex by the sea. We are going out shortly for coffee before the seafront fills up with day trippers, then it's almost impossible to drive anywhere.
Nothing else planned for today, although may visit DH's eldest daughter.
DD2 and family are in Devon and sent lots of lovely pictures last night. DD1 and family are off to Centre Parcs this morning near Nottingham.
Thoughts with anyone not feeling great, sad or just plain fed up with life at the moment. This too will pass.
Look for that smile . Have the best Bank Holiday Monday you can xxx

That should read clothes on the tight side. Rushing as there’s something I want to have on in the background this morning on Sky Arts - Andreas Bocelli Live from Portofino if anyone’s interested.

Good morning Mick, morning all from South Lanarkshire where the sun is shining again. It’s so lovely to have a few days of good weather at last.

SiL had been having a garage clear out so had a few things ready for a council uplift. I knew as soon as I saw it that DH would have a look to see what he could salvage and sure enough we came home with a car full of planks of wood and a shelving unit which we do not need. From their garage to ours! Give me strength.

Nothing planned for today, a little pottering in the garden then a lazy afternoon reading. I’ve begun lining the crochet bag which I’ve made but don’t have thread of the right colour to finish it off so that will have to wait till I can get to a shop.

I hope Grandmajet is doing well and thinking of all who are struggling just now.

The ponchos will turn up Marydoll, it’s frustrating beyond belief when things go awol though. Take it easy today.

Morning all from sunny East Yorkshire.
Yesterday we had a lovely day. We went for a coffee in the morning at our favourite local spot by the marina. Then a bbq at Ds and a catch up as they were away on holiday in the Lakes last week. They had bought us some lovely foodie gifts back. Grandson was so funny playing in his paddling pool and trying to get all of us soaked by using his Viking helmet (bought while away) turned upside down and filling with water from the padding pool.
Today I think I can finally get my summer clothes out and change wardrobe over. I think most of it will be in the right side - lockdown hasn’t been kind to me and I must out that right. However after a lifetime of watching what I eat I feel I haven’t the energy or inclination anymore. Is that just me?
I have a large chicken to cook after our invite out yesterday so that’s tea sorted. We will probably pop out for a coffee or maybe an ice cream somewhere.
Wishing everyone a good day and thoughts to everyone with worries/struggles.

Good morning all. Polmont is hidden under most at the moment but it's sea haar and should burn off or recede soon, I hope. Yesterday ended up a lovely day.
Today I might clean the oven as it's badly needing it and wash down the door and window trims. DD and dgs might swing by this afternoon for a visit so I'll nip to Aldi for cakes. Enjoy your 'empty' Marydoll and everyone have a good day.

Good morning from south Cornwall where it's going to be sunny. Packed beaches I expect, which I'm not allowed on until after my next hip replacement, a week today. Sitting on my cool patio next to a tub of mint which I keep squeezing and sniffing. Have created a small space in my wood behind my flat for sitting out under the trees so will press on with sorting that, and finish painting my hall a gorgeous turquoise. Thank you for welcomes back yesterday. I don't feel at all brave having two ops close together. I wouldn't even know I'd had the first hip done, apart from a small scar plus lack of pain on that side. It's a marvellous op. Have the best day possible everybody.

Morning Mick, morning All. Blue sky start to the day in our corner of Somerset.

Had a right kerfuffle yesterday. Navigating a maze of new cycle lanes and one way roads where there were none last year we found a tiny car park offering a level walk to the hospital. Congratulating ourselves on still being married grin what do we see? A large yellow sign proudly announcing the tiny access road is closed next weekend. Nothing for it other than Mr C will need his climbing boots to walk from a much larger and much lower car park. Oh heck.

All was not lost as we then spent a really enjoyable three hours wandering and sitting watching the world go by alongside a warm and sunny harbour. A cuppa and excellent cake restored spirits.

A surprise invite to a BBQ with one of ours and his offspring arrived yesterday evening. Looks like today’s planned lunch will be eaten tomorrow smile. Keep your fingers crossed for us avoiding the inevitable traffic queues as we have two motorways to travel. Worth it for sure.

Look after yourselves everyone, hope Monday is gentle with us all.

Morning all from a misty but warm North Leicestershire.

Not a lot on today - maybe a bit of gardening but a lazy day in general. Dh is barbecuing this evening.

ginny Mon 31-May-21 07:31:22

Good morning. More sun forecast today although it is dull lat the moment .
Big pot of chilli and puds ready for lunchtime . All the family together in the garden . 11 of us, 4 generations. First full family gathering for baby Charlie.

Thoughts with all who are poorly, troubled and missing family. Hope everyone can find a smile today.

brook2704 Mon 31-May-21 07:31:01

Good morning everyone from Inverness where it’s a clear blue sky and sunny. A gentle day in the garden beckons with the addition of washing the bedding and getting it all dried outside in the sunshine. I might make an attempt on sorting out the garage a bit if I’m feeling energetic
I’ve an empty for most of the day as DH is off to work soon then popping to DD2 garden to do a bit of tidying there. But he’s due home mid afternoon so I’ve promised him a beer in the garden and I think I’ll set the table up to eat outside later. Need to make the most of the weather whilst we can!
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is kind and take care all whatever the day brings ?

Marydoll Mon 31-May-21 07:28:21

Thank you Ashcombe, I was born bolshie and am not prepared to let my poor health win! However, ask me again in a couple of hours, when I am wiped out! wink
My son commented that he couldn't figure out where Dollie got her determination and stubbornness from. I rest my case! Apple and tree etc. ?

harrigran Mon 31-May-21 07:23:31

Good morning from the NE where the sun is not shining yet.
It was a lovely day yesterday and I had fifteen minutes in the sun after lunch.
DD is going to visit this afternoon which gives me something to look forward to.
I hope everyone has a pleasant Bank Holiday.

Gwenisgreat1 Mon 31-May-21 07:22:59

Good morning all from cloudy Harrogate. Good weather promised so another pair of curtains in the wash - great excitement!! Might as well do it while we can!! I either have a load of baking to do or a trip to Aldi (I do love a rummage in that shop). Love their children’s books. This pm I shall be busy catching up on my friends and sister on the phone then putting the curtains back up!!
A restful days sounds good for you Mick
Gagagran I have a friend who refuses to have the vaccine which does worry me. She is determined it’s bad for us - I can think of worse things!!
Hope you all have a chance to ? enjoy today and find ? flamingoes round the corner

Alygran Mon 31-May-21 07:22:46

Good morning from the Peak District. Another sunny day.
Had a lovely day yesterday with the family ending with a bbq at DD1’s.
More relaxing in the sun today.
Thoughts again for anyone who isn’t able to meet up with friends and family and for the poorly and worried.
Enjoy the day everyone.

Ashcombe Mon 31-May-21 07:19:51

Marydoll: you sound on form even if you don’t feel it! I’ve used a Tens machine for neck pain but couldn’t tolerate the feeling that an unseen someone was massaging me!

Ashcombe Mon 31-May-21 07:15:20

Good morning from a bright and sunny Torbay!

Gagagran: it certainly is wonderful to be enjoying sunny days at last ! I hope the cloud soon clears for Mick and Dwmxwg.

My friend was finally released from hospital yesterday after lunch. I was pleased that a nurse accompanied her to meet me as they had given her a trolley to help her carry meals, etc., around her bungalow whilst on crutches and she knew, with some manoeuvring, how to fit it on the back seat of my Fiesta. The lady is fiercely independent which will certainly help her through these early weeks. I plan to call in on Tuesday.

Happy Bank Holiday to you all! A rare treat to have a sunny one! ?☀️?

Marydoll Mon 31-May-21 07:11:24

Good morning all from a sunny and clammy Glasgow.
I have an empty today, but have nothing planned, as I’m still feeling rotten. Also awaiting a delivery of my RA injections and a sharps box. The box sent to me through the post last week, went AWOL, so I hope they have included one in the delivery, as requested. My box is overflowing with used syringes and needles!

I have mislaid my two favourite cashmere ponchos, purchased in Rome over the years at a quarter of the price. I have absoluely no idea what I have done with them.
I know, it's really warm today, so why am I looking for missing woollens! You know I'm as mad as a box of frogs, so you shouldn't be surprised! wink I found two, where they should be, but the others.....?‍♀️

Yesterday was spent pottering in the garden with DH, with frequent rests. It was a bit too warm for me, but great to get some fresh air. The weeds have run amok in the last week, despite all my efforts to keep them down, but because of all the decking materials lying about , it's hard to get to some of them! I do not like mess and it is starting to irritate me. If that is all I have to worry about, I'm doing OK. wink

After doing some Googling, I discovered that there has been research done in the USA on using TENS machines to alleviate pain safely in people with my type of heart condition. Since the pain in my back and shoulder was excruciating, I decided to give it ago. That is, until I bent down to pick something up and knocked the intensity to eight. This must be what being tasered feels like!!!! I won’t be doing that again in a hurry!!!! Ouch and quadruple ouch!!!! ???

Thinking of all those who are struggling at the moment. Wondering how Grandmajet is getting on. Auntieflo, I hope you have a better day today and Cherry’s night has been restful. Susan and others with family worries, ? It was good to see Viridian posting again yesterday. Bellasnanna, if you are reading this, we miss you. sad
Enjoy your Bank Holiday everyone.

Beechnut Mon 31-May-21 07:07:48

Good Morning all from another sunny day on Severnside.

I wasn’t sure when runner beans went in the ground. Now I see you’ve got yours in Dwm and my neighbour put his in yesterday I’ll get on and do mine. DH always said he would put his in late because of when we went on holiday.

I’ve finished the painting I’m very glad to say so a day of pottering and reading in the sunshine is on the cards with a chicken salad.

Have a good day everyone ???

Jaxjacky Mon 31-May-21 07:01:43

Good morning all from a sunny S Hants. MrJ, who is off to work soon, just asked me if I’m having a bad hair day! I’ll potter in the greenhouse and garden later.
Enjoy your day, whatever you’re doing. Respite for those struggling.

Gagagran Mon 31-May-21 06:45:48

Morning all from a sunny and warm south coast. It is so nice to waken up to this lovely weather!

DD called to see us yesterday so we had a catch up on her news and she said how busy the vaccination clinic had been on Saturday. They seem to be really pushing on with it and we are not even in a high incidence area. Good to know that people are still coming forward for their jabs. There were 1200 in the two sessions - 600 in each.

I have a few tasks to tackle today but everything just seems easier when the sun is shining!

Hope the day is a good one for us all. sunshine
