I wouldn't want to give them ideas, but Katie Price named her daughter 'Princess'.

rubysong Tue 01-Jun-21 09:08:54

Sorry, Ellianne. I was slowly writing my post but you just pipped me to it!

Sorry, Ellianne. I was slowly writing my post but you just pipped me to it!

No problem ruby. My friend's dog is called Princess too!

rubysong Tue 01-Jun-21 09:11:00

Ditto LauraNorder.

How about those trendy names like Gwynnie Paltrow and the like go for - Storm, Apple, Zephyr, Ionie, - or a gender neutral name like Wren or Prairie?
Seriously Artemis would be a great choice echoing Diana the hunter

Calendargirl Tue 01-Jun-21 09:13:53

Wallis ?

Casdon Tue 01-Jun-21 09:14:41

I think Aurora - it ticks the box in so many ways:
Aurora as a girl's name is pronounced aw-ROHR-ah. It is of Latin origin, and the meaning of Aurora is "dawn". Mythology: Aurora was the Roman goddess of sunrise. Aurora was the name given to a Disney Princess, better known as Sleeping Beauty. Aurora is also a city in Illinois.
So, new start, Disney Princess and American all rolled into one.

mokryna Tue 01-Jun-21 09:15:18

In France the name of the Godparents is often use as another name but who are the Godparents?

Ellianne Tue 01-Jun-21 09:16:03

Nice Casdon.

Grandma70s Tue 01-Jun-21 09:21:09

Long before Disney, Aurora was/is the name of the princess in the 1890 Tchaikovsky ballet The Sleeping Beauty, still frequently performed today..

nanna8 Tue 01-Jun-21 09:24:59

I think it will be plain and old fashioned traditional. Ethel, Lily, Grace that sort of thing.

Blinko Tue 01-Jun-21 09:26:52

Ethel?? My breath is already bated...

mokryna Tue 01-Jun-21 09:27:26

Grace thé a Américain girl that became princess.

nanna8 Tue 01-Jun-21 09:29:07

You know, I actually quite like Ethel. Shades of the Vikings. One of my old aunties was called that, she was lovely.

Talullah Tue 01-Jun-21 09:30:02

I think it will be very un-royal.

Freya or Margot or Mabel

mokryna Tue 01-Jun-21 09:38:15

Maybe we should be thinking on the lines of Megan’s plans for her daughter, what name would sound good for American politics, Presidential.

LauraNorder Tue 01-Jun-21 09:39:29

How about Helen Regina Harriet,
Signature HRH for short

FannyCornforth Tue 01-Jun-21 09:39:42

Perhaps they could christen her Princess if it’s good enough for Katie Price...

You're back!! I've only just noticed!
Hurray! 😃

LauraNorder Tue 01-Jun-21 09:41:50

Yes Fanny, I’m back, missed you all, just can’t stay away. X

FannyCornforth Tue 01-Jun-21 09:41:59

I think that it could be a noun.
Like Freedom, or Serenity, or maybe Privacy...🤔

nanna8 Tue 01-Jun-21 09:47:32

henetha Tue 01-Jun-21 09:50:14

I had an auntie Ethel. She was blind, and very gifted, could play the piano beautifully and sing.
Any chance they might call the new baby Elizabeth?
Probably not.

FannyCornforth Tue 01-Jun-21 09:52:37

Grace thé a Américain girl that became princess.

That was my initial thought.
I'm sure that Meghan loved the name Grace (as do I)
I think that Beatrice's daughter is called Grace
It's incredibly popular at the moment, but that didn't seem to bother H&M with the name Archie

Sparklefizz Tue 01-Jun-21 09:52:55

I hope not Elizabeth or Diana.

Peasblossom Tue 01-Jun-21 09:55:27

Rosa - after Rosa Parkes.

or Kali - the godess of destruction
