If Meghan likes 'ee' names, perhaps Gracie (like my dog)
Do fathers generally have much say in the issue?
What were your experiences?
I can't see H having much of a look in...

They could go down the American route (as presumably the move there is permanent) by going for a double barrelled one like Sally-Anne or Mary-Lou!!

Gosh, going into three pages already. Well here I am, ready to join in.

Gail Frances- Gail for Oprah, Frances for Diana and her mother.
Actually Gail Frances Markle Windsor

Is Charles going to be King Henry? Maybe because the last 2 Charles led to the monarchy being threatened!

Peasblossom Tue 01-Jun-21 10:08:49

Hmm, Henry’s haven’t exactly been shiny lights either

Liberty.

That’d make a good name for a presidential candidate.

Maggiemaybe Tue 01-Jun-21 10:14:45

I think Liberty Belle might be a step too far. grin

Well if this is a general royal thread here's my contribution. I can take them or leave them. I'm not really interested and never post on royal threads.
However, a few years ago I was nominated by my place of work to go to a garden party at Buckingham Palace. It was fabulous. All expenses were paid and me in my posh frock and hat, DH in a nice suit, sauntered past the tourists at the gates. We saw the queen and several royals. The gardens were lovely with military bands playing, a marquee serving tea, little sandwiches, cakes with little crowns on them. Later we were served ice creams. The heavens opened and we were allowed into the palace. What a memorable day smile Even my DH who is anti royal loved it.

Peasblossom Tue 01-Jun-21 10:17:40

Nobody does it like the Palace ?

maddyone Tue 01-Jun-21 10:19:39

Afternoon tea at the palace, how lovely. I’m going up to London next week for afternoon tea, but it’s not at Buckingham Palace.

I’ve booked tickets for a palace gardens tour and a picnic on the lawn in September. I’m practicing my wave already.

What ^baby naming discussion?^

We had a bet on possible names for archie’s sister.

Callistemon said aurelia
I said Artemis (being the Greek equivalent of Diana)
Others suggested Philippa Elizabeth etc

I also think Spencer may be in there ?

I don't know why I said Aurelia, it just popped into my head.

I fully expect Harry and Meghan to be reading this thread for helpful hints on baby names.
I'm sure, if this baby is a girl, then Diana will be one of her names.

Aurelia Diana Doria Elizabeth

Some of them did establish the monarchy well though. Particularly 2nd and 7th.

Dorcas is a popular name in the States.

A nice idea for a thread, but as there are so many different topics it might get confusing. I think there should be a separate forum for Royal Family with the various threads under there. There are so many things to discuss!

In the Bible named as a willing worker

They said they would bring up Archie in a "gender neutral way" so I was surprised they didn't call him Alex or Rowan for example.

Now I can see the daughter will probably have a girl's name.

If they can't bring themselves to use Diana then as someone suggested earlier, Frances might work. And it has the bonus that it can be shortened to "Frankie" .

maddyone Tue 01-Jun-21 10:46:30

This is a nice thread, but I agree Chestnut that a forum for royal threads would be good. There are lots of different topics that relate to the royal family.

Ali08 Tue 01-Jun-21 10:55:45

Harry was the name chosen by his mother, Diana.
Henry seemed more appropriate for a British royal prince. So that's what they called him. But Diana got the last laugh because we all know him as Harry!! ??

Newatthis Tue 01-Jun-21 11:00:55

So ...it's all gone quiet over Prince Andrew's under age sex allegations? Has this been well and truly brushed under the carpet?

I think Boris should have his own thread! He seems to attract a lot of discussion. ?
