Just saw the statue and I’m not impressed, strange facial expression and the outfit whilst chic then, looks dated now, it would have been better to sculpt her wearing one of her evening gowns to look more grecian and regal. I wonder if any statue could do her justice though, it was her warmth and kindness that lit her beauty.

Very disappointed. What a wasted opportunity. I'm surprised because IRB's other work is so much more impressive.

I like it.

I thought her face dosent look quite right but perhaps it looks better if you see it in the flesh so to speak, but William and Harry looked quite happy to be together which is nice.

I don’t think a classic fake-ancient-Greek style statue was what her sons wanted, though. She was a modern woman who cared about children and loved her sons, so I think it conveys that side of her rather well.

Yes, it does convey how she cared about children. But I dont think it looks very like her. Maybe it does when you actually see it. I do hope I get to. Poor Diana.

But obviously this is what they wanted. They would have seen it before it was cast and would have had to sign it off.

They couldn't unveil it then say "That doesn't look a bit like our Mum!"

It doesn't seem to have captured the essence of Diana (in my opinion).

No statue can capture the essence of someone as radiant as Diana. She lit up a room, and that can never be conveyed by an inanimate object.

Emperors new clothes-they can’t say they don’t like it because it’s made by a famous person.
It’s a good statue of a woman with children, though the material already looks ‘weathered’. As a statue of Diana, it seems some people are disappointed.

Neither W nor H strike me as the retiring types that would say, "no its fine" if they didn't like it.

Difficult to say like or dislike. It’s placed as if on an alter and more greenery than statue , too much like a shrine, must be
what William and Harry wanted but I would like to see it standing alone.

It represents a strong woman who did much to help children ,
not a glam blonde clutching her own children’s hands
