Good morning Mick and all from a Mediterranean type of day on the northwest Lancashire coast. No complaining about weather now!
Bits and bobs today,, going to move my art stuff downstairs and leave the dining room table and area free. I hope it doesn’t put me off painting, just that little move. Also change handbags, I have a handbag with so many pockets I just cannot find anything. A pity as it’s cross body and handy that way.
DS coming over later, now what jobs do I need doing...
Brilliant quilt grandMattie and Ashcombe’s local scenery from photos yesterday, is enviable.
Thoughts to Marydoll,Cherry, Dragonfly, harrigran and anyone with worries.
Strangely, I’ve noticed if I feel depressed in any way, a sunny day can make me feel worse!

How slow am I? I always thought Orlin was an unusual name and then Peckin!!

Happy birthday Mr Hulahoop
Elizabeth1 is that a butcher's steak pie I see on the table ? Nothing like a Scottish steak pie to remind me of childhood.

Good morning Mick and All from a sunny Cornwall. Some clouds looming and there's been welcome rain during the night. Thunderstorms expected. No rumbles yet.

Knee still aggravating me but not to the point of tears today.

Will pop back later as need to get two urgent tasks done this morning. Unfortunately both in opposite directions from home. Wish I could put one off (our little Apple store) in Newquay. Half term so it will be busy but hope I get a parking slot outside. 1/2 time limit there. Then back to the vets to pick up Mya's tick/flea and worming tablets. Saw a tick on her two days ago but it's dropped off. Good things these tablets. Wish I could take them !

Good news about iris

Sorry I can't read all the post till I get back but hearty wishes to everyone.

Good Morning All x.
Another fine day---aren't we doing well ? Washing on the go and I'll do my big living room curtains today then they'll do for another year.

Did my big Asda shop yesterday so that'll keep me going for a couple of weeks, cats and all. I'll only need bread and milk throughout. I got a pack of lovely pre-cooked roast beef for beef and onion sandwiches today and a pot of clotted cream for Devon scones---to pretend I was on my holidays grin as that was a favourite treat at mid-day.

A possible trip to market gardens today with my neighbour as she was hard at it yesterday forming a patch ready for planting so we'll have a good mooch around.

Neighbour would have just been home from Oz if she'd gone this year as she'd booked a year ago, but-------anyway, looking ahead and if I'm "spared" we'll arrange to fly together in a couple of years as she has a niece in Sydney and I have D.

Iris has done so well and it's heartening to hear how she's progressed, well done herself. Another lovely quilt GM what a clever person. You've made some beauties.

That lilac is gorgeous BlueSapphire, always reminds me of being at my mum's. I can even imagine the smell of it, so lovely. I aim to look for a couple of scented shrubs because on days like this the heat brings out the delicious smells. Nature is so clever.

As usual, I'm all behind with this post, darting hither and thither, eating my crumpets etc. so I'll get showered and return to read the doings/ goings-on of others.

Hope everyone's well and enjoying the weather. Thoughts to those who aren't enjoying life so much at the moment. xx
Take great care and remain safe.

Morning everyone from the sunshine coast of north Kent.

Think I must be slow on the uptake as have only just realised why your DH’s name is Orlin LauraNorder. The penny only dropped when I read your son’s name. Very clever!

Waiting for DGS1 and 2 to arrive to spend the day with us. At the ages of 10 and 7 they are very energetic, but brilliant company. We need our wits to be fully engaged, however!

Hope you all have a good day

Good morning Mick and all

I overslept this morning, DD and GC stayed over, the 6 yr old is swimming in the garden, the imp is having a late breakfast and I am about to have a latte outside and read this thread.

Keep safe and well folks ?‍♀️?

Belated good morning, been emailing the Telegraph about something they got wrong about the GP records data grab on 1st July, so a bit distracted! And here I am typing when I had put on my paint stained old clothes to go and do the summerhouse, procrastination is a wonderful thing!
Loved all your stories today, warmest wishes to everyone.

Good morning GraMingos from super sunny Sefton. I’ve been awake since silly o’clock, have managed to do lots and been out twice in my car. The workmen replacing a roof opposite our house stopped to check me reversing onto the drive. It’s tight - between a wall and DH’s car - but I did it without incident. Men!
Yesterday we had a lovely pub lunch with the DSs followed by a bbq in the garden in the very warm setting sun, again with family. This afternoon Miss Chatterbox and Mr Busy are coming round. Apparently she thinks she saw me on a canal walk when on her hols, about 100 miles away, with the other nanna and grandpa. I must have a doppelgänger. The furthest I’ve been from the house is about 5 miles...?
Looking forward to reading your news. Have the best day you can everyone.

Good morning from clouding over West Sussex.

Lots of news to read through today. Everyone seems to be very busy. I strained my lower back last week moving bags of home-made compost at the allotment. It is still stiff and sore and very frustrating as I can only move very slowly so I am feeling very ‘poor me’ today. Lots of little parsley seedlings need planting out which will be ‘kill or cure’ grin

It’s lovely to hear from Laura again. Also good to hear that Cherry has a kitchen again - hope no more fingers/thumbs are lost in it! Great to hear of Iris’s progress. Holly maybe you feel the weather should match your mood (the phrase ‘the pathetic fallacy’ just surfaced in my mind from school Shakespeare). I hope some sun and gentle breezes will shift any clouds today.

Thoughts for Grandmajet,Auntieflo and others having a difficult time.

A late good morning from the north of Scotland. I lost my oomph but it is coming back a little with the sight of the sun.
What lovely anecdotes and pictures. It is always refreshing to come on this thread.
I planted various seeds which germinated then got frosted because of the cold spell a couple of weeks ago so I have just resounding some but will pop up to the garden centre for some plants. They are kindly doing my order as a click and collect as there are several COVID cases in the local villages and a number of cafes/restaurants have had to close suddenly. This is a problem in a tourist area which is busy with lots of visitors for the Whitsun break. Strangely none of the closures are reported on the local news.
It is a delight to hear how well Iris is doing.
I need someone to explain Orlin and Pecking to me please.
Best wishes to all and thank you for all your posts which I read daily even if I do not post.

Good morning all from a sunny at the moment Portugal. I say that because yesterday was a completely grey day with a surprisingly chilly wind and according to the forecast today is supposed to be the same.

How nice to see LauraNorder back yesterday and even see my name mentioned. I’m very remiss about mentioning other people, frequently because by the time I post I’ve forgotten who said what, and I tend to think I’m invisible sometimes but I tell myself we all have spells of that.hmm

Good to see that Ashcombe will compliment a complete stranger on their outfit. I’ve done that myself especially if they are dithering in a changing room or with their partners whether to buy something or not. I wonder afterwards if I should have done but sometimes you need to hear an unbiased opinion, I miss a friend in England who would do the same for me.

I’m late posting but will have another coffee and try to catch up with you all.

Beautiful quilt Mattie. A work of art as usual. Delighted to hear your brilliant news about Iris.
You know a dog’s love is beyond measure, Mawbe! (At least it passed out.)
What fun LauraNorder!
How I chuckled at the thought of BusyMissMarydoll popping up.
Hugs for grandmajet and Auntieflo.

Afternoon All. I haven't read the Good Morning post before. Glad I did. Much nicer. I have spent the morning cutting my front garden hedge, first time I've ever done it all on my own. Now I'm knackered, can even more my arms. LOL smile It should keep me healthy I suppose all this new exercise. I love the sunshine but prefer to admire it from in the shade. Hope everyone is well.

GrannyGravy13 Wed 02-Jun-21 15:18:47

I am saving it for a surprise, along with all the other surprises, I have stashed away during this Long Covid!!! grin

LauraNorder Wed 02-Jun-21 15:25:44

Welcome MaggsMcG. Keep on posting until we get to know you, it’s a lovely thread.

Marydoll Wed 02-Jun-21 15:34:13

Welcome from me too Maggs, where are you posting from and what is your weather like?

Be prepared for Urmstongran to ask you the value of your house, she is joking! . Just tells her millions of pounds, and she will be quite happy. it doesn't need to be true. wink
