Hello Everyone ?

Inspired by lemongroves 'Three Favourite Films' thread (at which I failed miserably).

Please name your top three.
I'm going to have to have a good think. I'm only going to include UK ones in mine, but it's up to you of course!

Thank you as ever x

As you've lifted the limit Fanny I'm looking at what others have posted and adding a few more.

Father Ted, how could anyone raised a catholic not love that!
Phoenix Nights
Little Britain they couldn't do it now though!
Mum Can't believe I forgot that one, beautifully played by both Lesley Manville and Peter Mullan as her would be suitor. Funny, subtle, poignant and sometimes painful.
I did find Ali G very funny as well, not sure if his programme could be described as a situation comedy though.

I forgot Mum.
Best sit coms are those that occasionally make you cry as well as laugh.

Grandmabatty Wed 02-Jun-21 18:08:22

There are so many! Some have stood the test of time, others not so much
'Only when I laugh' was good.
Waiting for God
One foot in the grave
Fawlty towers
Only fools and horses but the early series. It got a bit worthy.
The young ones I found funny in patches
Ab fab
Two doors down which is probably only seen in Scotland.
I loved Are you being served? But when I watched it recently it hadn't aged well. I loathed On the Buses and Alf Garnet and Steptoe and son.
I'm sure I'll think of loads more

crazyH Wed 02-Jun-21 18:16:35

Beechnut Wed 02-Jun-21 18:32:30

I used to like a lot of the older ones mentioned especially Butterflies.

This Country
The Big Bang Theory
Two Doors Down and
Everybody Loves Raymond....one of my favourites in the series is when Robert catches Pat smoking.

welbeck Wed 02-Jun-21 18:37:57

Steptoe and Son
Dads' Army
Are You Being Served

Grannynannywanny Wed 02-Jun-21 18:48:55

Motherland
Schitt’s Creek
Grace and Frankie- I’m onto series 3 and laughed till I cried last night at the antics of Jane Fonda and Lily Tomlin. I think they are hilarious together.

Puzzler61 Wed 02-Jun-21 19:06:57

EV , quite right ?

Trisha57 Wed 02-Jun-21 19:54:15

No one's mentioned Coupling yet. A UK verison of Friends, but so much more subtle and very clever storylines. I would recomment it to anyone. Ever Decreasing Circles was brilliant, a true sitcom with no obvious jokes but all based on character. Final choice, Gavin and Stacey - a classic.

BBbevan Wed 02-Jun-21 19:59:04

Ever decreasing circles

‘Allo ‘allo

One foot in the grave

May7 Wed 02-Jun-21 21:11:36

Everybody loves Raymond
Roseanne
Friends
Cheers
King of Queens
Malcolm in the middle

I much prefer American sitcoms but I'll add in a British one

Watching

Great post Terri smile haven't heard of This Country. I will have a look

DH really didn't like it but I loved it!

I can't choose, there have been so many mentioned on this thread that I've enjoyed over the years but generally British sitcoms, not American ones as our humour is different and more my preference.
