Dido Harding. Her ego is far bigger than her ability! ?

She messed up with TalkTalk.
Then test & trace.
Now she want to run NHS England, replacing Sir Simon Stevens who is stepping down next month (to become a peer, ye gods).

Has the woman no shame?
I wouldn’t trust her to run my bath.

Was it called the Peter Principle? Keep promoting someone after each failure until they were so exalted other people did all the work. Can’t remember exactly but it certainly applies in Harding’s case.

I think it's called The Dilbert Principle, promoting someone incompetent out of harm's way.

Unfortunately I don't think it will work in this case.
She is so incompetent as to be dangerous in a position like that.

She’s chums with the Johnsons so has got a peerage and lots of taxpayers dosh already.

I hope she doesn’t get the job because she is the only woman in the list of candidates.

Good point Gwyneth. I sincerely hope her gender doesn’t get to play a part.

I think Dido should wave her white flag and bow out gracefully.

Thank you, elrel - more or less what I was saying but more succinctly put.

This information about Dido's possible appointment has made me even more determined to opt out of the government plans for 'data grab' from the NHS by the deadline June 23rd.

Can we please have a head of the NHS who has put some time in caring for and understanding patients and who has a clinical qualification, expertise and ability.

A video has emerged of her talking to Cambridge Analytica about the wonderful opportunities to be had from selling NHS data.

Dido Harding should have been prosecuted for the massive data breach when she was in charge of Talk Talk. It is beyond ironic that she was then given responsibility for handling the data for track and trace. So, on this basis that she is useless, leaves jobs before she gets prosecuted, and is generally regarded as hopeless by all her previous employers, then we can assume she will get the job. Is everyone aware of her husband's responsibilities as a Tory MP? David Penrose (born 22 June 1964) is a British politician serving as Member of Parliament (MP) for Weston-super-Mare since 2005. A member of the Conservative Party, he has also served as the United Kingdom Anti-Corruption Champion at the Cabinet Office since 2019 grin grin certainly need that hollow laugh emoticon

It is very interesting that all of us, so far, are agreed on her unsuitability for the job, despite our political differences

She has no credibility whatsoever.

Absolutely agree Urmston, appalling woman shock

Isn’t her husband very much involved in NHS privatisation? (apologies if this has been mentioned before…I’m dipping in and out of threads).

Surely this incompetent woman cannot be seen as a viable applicant?

NHS England has a bad enough reputation as it is and with Harding in charge things would surely only get worse.

Emma Barnett on Woman's Hour had her on the ropes but she tried to wriggle out of her failures by making excuses - but never good reasons except to herself.

This is good news, a woman with lots of NHS experience.

Having given up her previous post to concentrate on her bid to become NHS Chief Exec., what next for Dido Harding?

I'm delighted. All promise and hope. We'll see.
