Oops, nearly missed you maydonoz Happy Birthday cupcake

A warm welcome to any new posters.

hollysteers I feel your pain with the red wine. I do enjoy it but have to stick to o e glass with a meal. I’m on a lot of meds. Also, because of my brain injury, the effects on my wonky semi paralysed leg are magnified.

I’m such a cheap drink, one glass and I’m legless grin

Thank you to all who sent birthday messages, and am enjoying a cooking-free day as we're finishing lots of leftovers from yesterday.
Still hoping to get our walk in after the match on TV.

Happy birthday Maydonoz have a lovely day ??

Mapleleaf Sat 12-Jun-21 13:36:33

I do'nt know what happened for there to be two duplicate posts from me this morning, and so spaced apart, too, other than to say the Internet was playing up yet again, so although I'd pressed send, nothing has happened so thought it hadn't posted at all. Oh the wonders of the web!! ??

Happy Birthday, Maydonoz.

Hello to Joyce6135, Northants., not too far from me, (in Cambs.,)

We are missing EV, where is she?

Feelingmyage55 Sat 12-Jun-21 12:46:44

I’m late form an overcast north of Scotland. Ready to watch the final of the ladies’ tennis form Paris.
Grandmafrench. What about good old calamine lotion?

Jaxjacky Sat 12-Jun-21 12:22:20

Happy, Happy Birthday Maydonoz ??? and hello joyce6135 enjoy your gardening and the football.

Litterpicker Sat 12-Jun-21 12:19:31

Will just squeeze in with a “good morning” from West Sussex. Sunny here with white fluffy clouds. Ideal for the sorting out the garden that I need to do before heading north to Scotland next week.

I had a very social week which was lovely but tiring. I don’t know whether I am anaemic or something or have a bit of depression/anxiety as I have very little energy and am even worse than normal (for me) at getting going in the mornings. I will ask my GP for a blood test when I get back from my travels.

I hope your weekend in lovely Pitlochry goes well Marydoll and no disasters worse than having to ask for toilet rolls at the bar ?

Nanagarra we have some ‘sad’ neighbours who complain about a few children riding their bikes and scooters round our close. The trouble is once someone has complained your pleasure is spoiled and you can’t just ignore them as you’d like to.

Happy Birthday Maydonoz.

Hello and welcome joyce6135.

Thoughts with missing friends who may be having a hard time. ?

Happy birthday Maydonoz Have another nice day.

Gwenisgreat1 Sat 12-Jun-21 11:14:10

Good to hear you've picked up the lingo Stilllearning I was brought up in Prestwick! Enjoy!
Glad you are home Alizarin keep up with the exercises, you will soon be 'up and running'!
Grandmafrench - a bit daunting, but it works - drink 3 tumblers of water each with 1 teaspoonful of cider vinegar. You can also dab it on the skin. Love your Pepper Joke Gelisjams.
Hope you sort your toilet problems Marydoll
Got to go now and start some baking!

Nannagarra Sat 12-Jun-21 11:07:48

Happy birthday maydonoz. ???

joyce6135 Sat 12-Jun-21 11:01:12

Good morning all from East Northants. Only my second post so some may wonder who I am! Visited a local garden centre/ emporium yesterday, and during lockdown they have extended it, and enlarged the cafe area. Two friends and I had a lovely lunch there and a very enjoyable few hours. Just some weeding and tidying in the garden today, then football on tv. Take care all and stay safe.

Good morning Mick and team. Cloudy here on the northwest Lancashire coast.
I had a meal and night out on Thursday with a close friend, really lovely but I had two glasses of red wine, TWO! I don’t drink now and am amazed how unwell I have felt. I staggered off the next morning to my art group feeling awful (drew heads upside down, a very good exercise) and have felt good for nothing since. Maybe it’s a clash with my medication.
Anyway pleased to find I have lost a few pounds by not buying biscuits and chocolate. I can eat a packet of Jaffa cakes in one go.
Thoughts to harrigran, dragonfly, Cherry, Marydoll, and anyone with troubles of any kind.

Good morning all from sunny Welwyn, Herts.
Thanks for opening the thread Jaxjacky.
Yesterday evening we celebrated my 72nd birthday, although it's actually today. Some of us watched the Turkey - Italy football match, and DH did a barbeque. Much wine and food was enjoyed by all, our DSs and families.
Today we're just having an easy day, in the afternoon we hope to walk to the wildflower meadow, a few kilometres from where we live.
Thankfully our lovely weather continues which helps to keep our spirits up, in spite of restrictions possibly continuing for a further month.
Wishing you all a happy, pleasant Saturday.

Nannagarra Sat 12-Jun-21 10:48:57

Would love to see pic of Iris’s trousers, grandMattie. My favourite pattern and adore the colours.

Nannagarra Sat 12-Jun-21 10:22:39

Grandmafrench - it’s the latter: she’s an interfering old bat. Ten minutes quiet quality time with our 5YO DGD (sans parents or younger brother), enjoying giving her watermelon which she loves, being shown her latest art work and leaving only footprints hardly makes us awful picnickers. (Would post pic but school uniform an identifier.) Thanks for reassurance. x

Good morning everyone from a cool and cloudy Carlisle where the sun keeps trying to come out and fails. I'm thinking of mowing the lawn. I wasn't up to it yesterday. I'm wondering how early you can go out to do it on a Saturday without upsetting the workers maybe having a lie-in. I deemed 8.30am too early but now?...I've been up extra early today as the washing machine man was due from 8 am and arrived soon after. My machine was only balancing on 3 feet and was making an horrendous racket on spinning. The fear of potential damage to it and the surrounding cabinetry made me bite the bullet and pay the £50 call out fee for what I knew was only a minor job. Done in 5 minutes, no extra charge. Worth it to save my anxiety on wash day.
Have a good day everyone and a better one to all those with worries.

muse Sat 12-Jun-21 10:01:45

Thank you for the kick Start Jax.

Cornish air is still and the sun’s peeping round the clouds.

Another suggestion from me Grandmafrench. Anthisan if you can buy it there. I get attacked by horse flies ?

Keep those pivots moving Ali

As Ashcombe said, Cornwall is filling a big new’s slot at the moment. Biggest delays were on Thursday when G7 bods were arriving. It’s settled down now with people not being delayed with long security checks.

Thank you for your PM Maw. Looks like Mick is slowly getting there. Marydoll snap ?. Future help for others, GNHQ say to email them [email protected] with the email you set up with and they can then help.

I’ll pop back later to read the late morning news posts.

Take care everyone.

grandMattie Sat 12-Jun-21 09:59:43

Trousers, nannagarra. It is jersey and too stretchy for patchwork.

dustyangel Sat 12-Jun-21 09:58:41

Good Morning from a (slightly) cooler, cloudier Portugal. Although it is already 28 degrees Celsius, the atmosphere feels fresher and I feel better for it. I shall have to soon get on with the the chores that DH said he was going to do yesterday but managed to forget about.hmm However he has gone off to the market to buy fresh Tuna for our meal tomorrow and will probably come back laden with all sorts of additional things as well.
We enjoyed our lunch out last week so much that that we have decided to do it again today.

Those dratted mosquitoes Grandmafrench, (that might not be exactly what I call them) are totally infuriating. There seem to be even more this year and they started much earlier than they usually do here. I am awaiting an order of insect repellent arriving from India of all places. When/if it eventually arrives I shall let you know if it’s still successful. Many of the older Portuguese men wear a sprig of miniature basil behind their ear from round about now. A pot on the window sill is supposed to keep them outside, it doesn’t but it looks nice!

I like seeing your bright and early posts Dwmxwg. In a totally irrational way it makes me feel that my daughters in north Surrey are safe and well. Hopefully I’ll talk to one or both later. Meanwhile, enjoy your weekend everyone.

GrannyGravy13 Sat 12-Jun-21 09:56:46

It’s warm and sunny here in Essex, I feel a lazy day is on the cards!
