Celebs That You Rather Like, Actually?

Hello Everyone! ?

As a companion thread to nanna8's 'irrational dislikes on sight'.

Who, in the public eye, do you think comes across as rather a good egg?

Extra points if the celeb in question is usually found in the other camp
(is there anyone out there who actually likes Schofield or Holden??)

For me, it's Rylan Clarke-Neal.
I think that he is a TV natural, and he seems really warm and friendly.
I'd really like to be his mate.

So, which Celebs do you have a soft spot for, and why?

Thank you!

As an antidote to this (almost) all-male love-fest: Mary Beard.

There are too many people I like on TV to list really, but Graham Norton is a favourite, as is Jeremy Clarkson, Matt Baker, Chris Packham, David Mitchell, Lee Mack, the list is endless. Notice they are all men? Not sure what that says about me! grin

Some really weird names here! Miriam Margolyes is hardly 'a good egg' with her disgusting language, and always trying to shock the audience with her dreadful stories.

My favourite is Lee Mack for his quick fire funny comments and way of making everything sound funny. He could make me laugh just reading the telephone directory.

Lisa Tarbuck for me too, we listen to her Saturday evening radio show most weeks.

Will from The Repair Shop
Graham Norton
Johnnie Walker

Kate1949 Fri 25-Jun-21 09:44:39

Oh shysal How I agree re Will from The Repair Shop. He seems such a poppet. I love Rylan too.

muse Fri 25-Jun-21 09:40:20

Rylan for me too FC but most definitely not Jeremy Clarkson.

There are many but I’ll narrow it down:
Adam Strong - gardeners’ world
Carol Kirkwood
Miriam Margolyes
Grayson and Phillipa Perry.
Graham Norton
Martin Sheen (uk actor)
Bill Nye
Ed Sheeran
Anthony Head
Robin Williams
George Clooney

May I add Will from The Repair Shop to my list? Another seemingly kind gentle person.

I met Alastair Appleton once many years ago. He was an absolute darling.

Puzzler61 Fri 25-Jun-21 09:09:07

Dan Walker on the BBC Breakfast.
A thoroughly nice young man.
He was the catalyst for making a 82 yr old war veteran’s dream come true 2 yrs ago after a chance meeting with him when Dan was walking his dog in the park.
The BBC organised a fly past which was Tony Foulds’s lifelong dream to witness - in memory of 10 American airmen who lost their lives when their aircraft crashed in to the park (in Sheffield) in the second WW when Tony was a child.
Tony Foulds has tended a memorial for the airmen in the park for decades since and was visiting it when Dan came across him.

Monty Don,
Alistair Appleton,
Adam Henson,
Charlie Luxton,
Charlene White.
All seem genuine gentle people.

Grandma70s Fri 25-Jun-21 08:54:59

Oh, and I really liked Bill Turnbull when he was on.

Grandma70s Fri 25-Jun-21 08:48:29

I like Jeremy Paxman and Richard Osman.

Women - the most likeable person I see on TV is Carol Kirkwood, the weather woman..

JaneJudge Fri 25-Jun-21 08:47:28

grin

FannyCornforth Fri 25-Jun-21 08:46:35

Oh Jane ?
We are no longer GN twins. I cannot stand Angel

JaneJudge Fri 25-Jun-21 08:44:14

ALL the TV gardeners, all of them
Lots of comedians, too many to list really
Harry Hill
Grayson Perry
Amanda Owen but she isn't really a celeb
I like Dick and Angel, which be controversial grin

FannyCornforth Fri 25-Jun-21 08:44:00

Liza Tarbuck is a wonderful woman.
I don't know why she isn't more 'out there'.
I would love to be her friend. I'd just trail after her, adoringly

Millie22 Fri 25-Jun-21 08:43:13

Adam Frost on Gardeners World
Gethin Jones
both have a natural presenting style

lovebeigecardigans1955 Fri 25-Jun-21 08:38:22

I've always liked Jeremy Clarkson, he's forthright with a nice deep voice.
I also like Rick Edwards and Joel Dommett because of their handsome faces, in fact they could be brothers.
Richard Osman - seems clever - the aforementioned are tall men which is obviously a type I go for.
For ladies I like Tamsin Greig, Liza Tarbuck and Miriam Margolyes due to their pleasant voices.

FannyCornforth Fri 25-Jun-21 08:30:40

A gold star for you Ellianne for being so contrary! ⭐?

Ellianne Fri 25-Jun-21 08:28:31

Jeremy Clarkson now on both threads for me! An instant irrational no, but a yes when he is being funny.

FannyCornforth Fri 25-Jun-21 08:26:08

Terry Christian looks ridiculously younger than his age.
I like your choices Tallulah (bar one ?)

Talullah Fri 25-Jun-21 08:22:04

Love Jeremy Clarkson, always have done. Terry Christian and his sexy voice. The Weeknd. Graham Norton but I preferred him without beard. Pete Burns but he sadly passed away, far too young. Oh and I rather like Amanda Holden as well. No idea why people appear to loathe her.

Ellianne Fri 25-Jun-21 08:21:03

Now we're talking about likeable personalities, rather than instant appeal, it's easier to comment.
I like Michel Roux and Monica Galetti
Monty Dom
Kirsty and Phil
Matt Baker

FannyCornforth Fri 25-Jun-21 08:19:52

Curlywhirly yes, a lovely man. And what a voice ?

Curlywhirly Fri 25-Jun-21 08:15:30

George Michael. Wasn't a particular fan of his and he didn't come across as anything special in interviews, but when after his death, we found out just how much he did for charity and he insisted that it was all kept secret, I just thought what a lovely, lovely chap. He used his wealth to help others, without the need for any publicity or recognition. A true star.
