Good Morning Everyone,
Its a cloudy and wet start here in Brackley this morning .
Plans for the day , housework morning , followed by lunch and then the tour on TV , watching to see how the race unfolds .
I have got a programmed laid out for the week , with very little change in routine .
Take Care,
Mick

Good morning from a dry NE.
Family visited yesterday afternoon, really good to see our GDs.
Nothing on the calendar today so we can take it easy.
Hope to be able to go in the garden today, pot plants were happy in the rain but the little flowers in the baskets look a little bedraggled.
DH's temperature is down and it looks as if the abscess site is healing, he managed a little food at each meal yesterday.
Enjoy the day.

Good morning and it’s greY and very damp here in Essex. As Sar has already mentioned we had lots of rain last evening and through the night.

Yesterday we had a surprise concert from our neighbour at the back of us. He’s a professional singer and had a gathering in his garden. He sang for an hour and entertained the neighbourhood. Sort of Frank Sinatra type Swing music. He was so good !

DS1 and DIL popped round with their new car, so we had a coffee and chat. Boy do they chat! I don’t think DH spoke at all. (Couldn’t get a word in) ?. They’re so lovely though and we had a laugh.

Today I’m off to my Chimes group. We were going to be in the garden but it will have to be an inside job. We always have a giggle followed by cake and coffee.

Grandmadinasaur how cute is your GS! Well done to him. ??.
Amselerin - I hope your move progresses quickly now. It seems to be taking a fair time ?. It would be nice for you to be in the UK for some of the summer.
Baubles how does an egg vending machine work? ?

Enjoy your sunshine up North - I don’t think us southerners are going to see much of it . . Wishing everyone a good day. ???

Good morning from a sunny Morecambe Bay.
So pleased you had a good weekend Marydoll even if was not completely without incident. Glad you got your much sort after lilac underwear!
Attached hopefully is a picture of the hare I made on the course on Saturday. He just needs his whiskers and his toes defining.
DH was really surprised at the size of it - he was expecting something about 6 inches and wondered why I was to be away for all day.
Yesterday we visited 3 of our 5 children. While we were with DD1 DGD got a message she was to to isolate - needless to say that was our cue to move on!
It’s gardening day today. I’m looking after the vicarage garden until we get a new vicar, and a patch in the churchyard. Then mine needs some attention. I have foolishly entered it into the village garden competition which will be judged in a couple of weeks while we are away again. I’ll have to leave it in a reasonable state before we go.
Thinking of lots of missing posters and all those with problems, sadness, worries and ill health.
Take care everyone and stay safe safe.?

Good morning all from a sunny Glasgow, i hope it continues! We rarely get a proper summer here!

I will have to go and do some food shopping this morning for fresh food. Lidl is a possibility as new M&S food store has opened next door to it and there is a a Range beside it. I want to change the look of a small piece of furniture I bought for the porch, but don't really know what I want to do! I'm looking for inspiration, paint wise!
DH is golfing, so I will need to limit it to a small shop, as I cannot manage a heavy trolley.

I'm pretty washed out after doing too much in Edinburgh, but we had a great time, so well worth it.
Due to the fact that the British Lions were playing, the atmosphere was fantastic.
What was so heartwarming was that there was no rivalry between the nations. Lying in bed late at night, I heard fans celebrating, singing all the national anthems. It actually sounded like a Welsh voice choir.

We even managed to get home earlier. Due to the train strike, there was no rail service from Edinburgh to Glasgow sad, but I managed to book seats on the Megabus. We were far too early for the bus, but one of the Glasgow drivers approached us in the bus station, asking if we were going to Glasgow. I explained we were booked on a much later bus and were just passing the time. He suggested we catch his bus, as it was empty. I messaged DS2 to say we would be in Glasgow much earlier and we would make our own way home. To our delight, he was waiting for us in the bus station in Glasgow! (I was dreading the walk to the train station, a train home, then another walk!)
As I keep saying, his fiancée is a great influence on him. It would never have occured to him in the past to come, not because he is uncaring, but he has a touch of Aspbergers and needs prompts! My future DIL has been so good for him,
but my DD and SIL joke that they are no longer the favourites. ?

Just as DS was leaving yesterday, the Fire Service arrived, two engines no less and stopped outside our house. We were in the driveway talking and all eyes in the fire engine were focussed on us! It was a bit unsettling to say the least.
We have new neighbours, who keep lighting bonfires in their garden and last week our home was full of smoke and the washing needed to be rewashed. Some one (we have a fair idea) phoned the fire service, who came and put the fire out. Now you would have thought they wouldn't do it again, but yesterday they did it again. Understandably, the fire officer was raging and spent a fair time in their home. Other things have been happening, which is quite unsettling.
Our wee cul de sac has always been a harmonious , well looked after place, with everyone getting on with each other, but this family have such a mess outside of their house. They just keep dumping stuff.

I will not bore you with DH's disappearing act in Edinburgh, ( he didn't listen, AGAIN , but my sequel to the Rose Street Wifi Murder, will be entitled The (Truly Exasperating) Disappearing Spouse!

I tried to include (to no avail) couple of photos of Princes Street Grdens. The smell of lavender was amazing! As for the giant thistle, it would have made a great buttonhole flower for a wedding.

Wishing all, who all who have adventures planned, a great day and sending my warmest wishes to all who are struggling or worring about family who are ill. ?

Trying again

A belated, for me, good morning from a rainy south Cornwall. Rather large puddle in my kitchen, from overnight rain. My landlord can't find out where it's coming in, and it's right in the centre of my flat. Very odd.

I think I shall indulge in watching Wimbledon today. To sit around during the afternoon will feel strange, I love to be on the move outdoors. Three weeks today since my second hip replacement, how time flies!

What a dear little chap, Grandmadinosaur.

Have the best day, everyone.

Grandmabatty Mon 28-Jun-21 08:12:36

Susan I made the mistake of buying playdough for the boy wonder. He calls it "Squishy" and unfortunately has clocked where I hid it. I'll need to think of a better hiding place. ?

muse Mon 28-Jun-21 08:18:17

Good Morning Mick and all.
I doubt there’s building work today with all the rain still on the ground from yesterday. It’s due to ease off later today.

Not sure if DD and DGD will get out today. I’ve got to do a couple more runs our myself. Swap draining part and visit new doggy care lady for her to meet Mya.

Earl Grey tea is ready to drink.

Tried to discuss something with MrM last night and failed. Spirits are dampened today. Mustn’t let it show.

First job, prepare for Mya’s morning walk. Wellies and raincoat.

Take care everyone. Good luck with appointment and any tests today. Safe journeys in these wet roads.
??

Alizarin Mon 28-Jun-21 08:20:27

Beautiful hare Gelisajams!

muse Mon 28-Jun-21 08:22:28

Gelisajams. Amazing hare. You are clever. ?

BlueSapphire Mon 28-Jun-21 08:23:54

Good morning everyone from a wet and chilly Northampton. More rain forecast so a good thing I have no outdoor plans for today.

A quiet day at home yesterday, reading the papers, and catching up on a few tv programmes I had missed in the week. And a couple of phone calls with a sister and a friend; it was good to hear all their news.

Wishing all a pleasant day.

Alygran Mon 28-Jun-21 08:32:37

Good morning from North Yorkshire. It’s almost sunny so I’m hoping for another dry day. I may get the lawns cut.
I had a very quiet weekend but did manage to get some weeding done.
Going out for a walk this morning then catching up the first quarter’s accounts for my charity.
Wishing you all a good day.

rjack Mon 28-Jun-21 08:34:07

Good morning all from Carnoustie. Dull this morning hopefully will clear into another sunny day. Busy weekend in the garden watering it everyday. Was to play golf with my Ds and DGS but they have had to call off. Maybe look at buying some summer curtains, then have a coffee somewhere.
Take care everyone hope all is well with all.

Good morning everyone from a tiny overcast start to the day here on the east coast of Fife, it’s expected to become really warm later on. Yesterday’s weather was indeed much warmer than I at first anticipated.

We had a most enjoyable church visit yesterday followed by a super filled bacon roll and chips looking out to sea then home to perspire in the conservatory after a short nap of course in my lovely cool luxurious super king size bed.

And no I couldn’t eat any more until supper time when I managed a slim slice of cheese and jam on a piece of toast. (A miners piece) for anyone who doesn’t know or has experienced this. It’s very tasty ?

It’s the start of Wimbledon today I guess I might start to watch it seeing as how I’ve lots of free time today I’m not expecting to get any interruptions smile I’ll be rooting for Andy Murray grin] he comes across as a dour Scotsman but I’m warming up to him . grin

Have a lovely day all you who may be fearful of what’s going on around you well soon be FREE smile

Elizabeth1 Mon 28-Jun-21 08:37:14

Good morning Auntyflo and all x

dragonfly46 Mon 28-Jun-21 08:44:57

Good morning - chucking it down here and the pile of stuff I put out for Air Ambulance is getting soggy.

Good news about your brother Kitty.

Need to pop into town and pick up a laundry basket I ordered. We were going for a coffee but suspect DH will stay in the dry.

Best wishes to all especially those who read but don’t post anymore.

Greyduster Mon 28-Jun-21 08:48:36

Good morning, Michael and all GNs from a grey, cool but dry (at the mo) South Yorkshire. The rash on my ankle, when it settled down, revealed two enormous insect bites. They itch like the very devil. Herbaceous borders are full of things lying in wait for you, it seems! We had a lovely lunch yesterday with GS and his parents. He persuaded me to share a starter with him so we had coconut shrimps. A new one on me but delicious. Today is mostly ironing for me.
Well done to your grandson, Grandmadinosaur. Lovely photo. He looks like a champion in the making! Have a good day folks.

ginny Mon 28-Jun-21 08:49:11

Good morning.
Dull and wet here in N. Bucks.
Last minute washing is in the machine and packing to do today. We are off in our tourer with friends in theirs, to visit some more friends who moved to the south west 6 years ago. The old vocal cords will be busy as we haven’t seen them for two years. Our children ball grew up together and all of us have spent many happy holidays together.
Will make a quick trip over to see little Grandsons to get my cuddle fix that has to last until we get back in just under 3 weeks.
Harrigran pleased that your DH was a little improved yesterday .
Wishing all a good day with smiles along the way.

GrannySomerset Mon 28-Jun-21 08:49:44

Awaiting a call from the dishwasher repair man in the hope he can come today but am not holding my breath. Amazing how frustrating its absence is though the washing machine would be much more serious.

Damp start to the day so the washing will have to be dried indoors but the thought of Wimbledon is something to look forward to - weather permitting.

Lovely surprise yesterday with a short visit from exDiL and two GCs who had been weekending not far away. Children are growing up fast and put themselves out to be entertaining so a great boost for me.

Grandmajean Mon 28-Jun-21 08:51:18

Dry here in Cheshire but grey and dull.
Melrose is beautiful,*Gwen*. We have spent some lovely holidays there.
What a cute little boy Grandmadinosaurand how proud he looks.
Will read rest of posts later.
Have a day !

Grandmajean Mon 28-Jun-21 08:52:23

Gwenisgreat didn't appear in bold. Hope this one does as it never shows bold in my preview so I never know !

muse Mon 28-Jun-21 08:58:40

Sorry for typos in my post. Mental note: do preview before posting. ?

aggie Mon 28-Jun-21 09:01:06

Good Morning everyone, dull and cool here , but promises of higher temperatures later
Lovely to have a surprise visit GrannySomerset , nothing like GC to cheer one up , my youngest GS is 13 but still likes to pop in and get my messages , nothing to do with the tip !

Nannagarra Mon 28-Jun-21 09:13:12

Good morning from dry and sunny Sefton.
Sorry to read your hand isn’t improving Grandmabatty. Rather you than me with an inquisitive DGS and a man with a chain saw. Years ago we met a man from your side of the border who carves with this tool. From him DH bought me an owl - pic might be forthcoming iykwim. Loving the hare Gelisa; keep a tight hold as I have a handbag big enough! ?Like amselerin I may watch the England-Germany game tomorrow. The memory of the 1966 game, watching it with my dad while we ate tinned tomato soup (classy, what?), abides. Happy birthday to kittylesterbro. I’m so pleased that he, like mrharri, is improving. Understandably your hearts must be swelling with grandmothers’ pride Baubles and Grandmadinosaur.
DH has suggested a trip to Home Bargains and enticed me with the idea of replacing some solar lights. He knows I can’t resist either! Talk about knowing which buttons to press…
Have the best day possible. x
